Wow! This pizza is addicting!!
Polock's serves BBQ - yes, but this review is for the pizza only. (Only because I haven't had the BBQ).
Polock's is well known in the area for their pizza. Local residents with generations of the family working the store and carnival stands. They are only open at their store from October or Nov through May from 4 - 9pm Friday, Sat, and Sunday only. During the other (summer/fall) months, they travel by their food truck/carnival/fair stand to various fairs and carnivals. Prices are cheaper at the store than on the fair stands. Makes sense since Fair/Carnival food is always priced higher.
It is a tiny tiny tiny place. Standing room only - that is because it is a take out place only. Not a restaurant. Call your pizza 1 hour - 1.5 hours BEFORE you really want to pick it up to eat. (I call around 3:30pm) for a 5pm pick up. Be prepared to wait either way. If you are not a patient person, then this will help you grow in that category. It is worth the wait.
Cash Only. No bills over $50 accepted (which yes, means no $100 bills).
They have 2 different style pizzas: Round & Sheet (Rectangular). Toppings include Plain, Pepperoni, and I think maybe Sausage?? (Don't quote me on that one.)
I think a large plan pie is around $12 - $15.00. 8 slices.
Very cheesy, the sauce is addicting, and the dough I could eat plain. I never eat the crusts of pizza, but this one I will eat the crusts. It has such a fresh dough taste. (That's saying alot from my world of pizza crusts).
I HATE HATE a cracker, crunchy crust. If I wanted to munch on a cracker with pizza toppings, I would make my own saltines with tomato sauce and cheese. I want a pizza slice that is flexible and bendable. This is it. Awesome slices.
