Ate here Saturday night with my husband and it was e really good experience. He had the Bangers & Mash and it came with seasonal vegetable that he said were cooked to perfection. Nice and crisp, but cooked. I had the Fish and Chips which were well cooked, no soggy batter. Asked for and they had the malt vinegar to go over, essential if you are English! My only criticism is that they do not have very many " British" items, like Shepherds pie, Steak& kidney pie and also the waitress was not knowledgable about the history of the Pub. She also could not explain why the Corned Beef Hash was "Brit" style. The food however made up. There are lots of TV's if you want to watch sports
Review Source:I visited this place with my son. We decided to eat outside, and since outside areas are one of the first places to be ignored for cleanup, I always look for this first. I was pleased to see that all the empty tables were clean and ready to go.
There were two servers that assisted us and both were delightful. They were friendly, knowledgeable about the food, and quick to serve. We ended up staying longer than normal, since it was an off hour and they weren't short tables, and the servers continued to happily check in now and then.
Food was excellent. I had the corned beef sandwich and would return just for that, alone. My son also enjoyed his meal.
So disappointed.
We walked in on a Friday around 5pm. As we walked in we weren't sure where to sit since noone greeted us but heard after a minute of standing there - "Sit where you want". I think it was the bartender but who knows. There was noone other than the 3 people sitting at the bar in the place.
My boyfriend and I grabbed a booth in the bar (?) area on the left side. A lady behind the bar came over with menus and got our drink order pretty quick. When she came back with our drinks she looked at me and took my order and then walked away. Didn't even look at my boyfriend to see if he was going to order or ask if he wanted anything- which he did want to.
We got what I had ordered which was a club sandwich (not great but not bad - just a sandwich) and "Dirty Chips". I dunno what I was expecting but they were just sad. Plain chips with hot sauce poured over and then green onions and blue cheese scattered on the plate.
Total I paid about $30 for 2 sodas, chips and a club sandwich. Won't be back.
My wife and I went in on a Sunday afternoon, so it was not very busy at that time. First, service - It was a bit slow and frustrating. We had just finished kayaking for several hours and were quite thirsty. The only time our water glasses were filled was when we flagged down the server (when we saw her) and asked. I suppose that is a pet peeve of mine. I always appreciate when water glasses are kept filled, especially without having to ask. Overall service was lacking, but I'm just using this as a gauge.
Regarding the food, perhaps my wife summed it up best when she said, "It was bar food, what did you expect?" I guess I expected better. Everything we got that was fried indicated the fryer oil was in need of being replaced, like yesterday. I grew up in the restaurant business and I know when fryer oil has served its purpose, and this had. We had both ordered the po'boy sandwiches. Truly lackluster - just scrambled eggs with some shrimp mixed in thrown into an everyday pocket pita. The only thing that gave it any pizazz was dousing it in Tapatio. The veggies we opted for as a side appeared to be from a frozen mix, but the worst part was the pool of oil they sat in on the plate.
It's doubtful we will be back. We came in because of a Groupon, so at least there was the discount.
Poole's is awesome. Â They opened a few months ago and we've already been there multiple times. Â Great service, variety of food and beer. Â I've had something different each time and can't pick a favorite - all excellent (Nachos, Burger, Turkey Melt, Fish Tacos, Fish & Chips) and everyone I've been with loved their food too. Â Kids have enjoyed as well. Â They just opened their outdoor patio and we're looking forward to trying that. Â Would definitely recommend.
Review Source:We went in on a Friday night at 6PM. It was busy. But once we stepped in, my party and I were deer in headlights. No one approached us, but we did get looks from the wait staff. It would have been nice if SOMEONE at least approached us to let us know that it's seat yourself. There was no sign that said we had to do that and if you see 4 people standing and looking around, wouldn't SOMEONE approach them? We waited for another 5 mins, vowing to leave and go to Twigs down the street for my friends birthday dinner.
We finally snagged a table for 4, but there were more people coming... so we waited and finally got another bigger table. It was my friends birthday and apparently he could not get a drink because he had a vertical drivers license. Our waitress said that "vertical IDs are easier to fake", but this drivers license was from out of state, where their IDs are vertical, so it was really out of his hands. It was annoying to have to deal with that, after having to wait around for table with no help from the wait staff.
We ordered dinner and I had the shrimp chicken salad. It was supposed to be one of the house favorites, but I disagree. I don't know why i keep giving Spokane a chance with seafood, but the shrimp was small and lacked taste. There was way too much pepper and garlic on the shrimp and chicken for my liking.
At least their fries were decent.
I don't know if I'll be back again.

Nice place,Clean and stylish. Super delicious food especially the RUBIN sandwiches! Its been a while since I've been impressed with a tasty treat such as this and man o man I thinks its the best I've every had. Â Also I think it was called devils on horseback, very very good too. My wife had ribs and skips chips, I had a taste of each and they were very good also. Lots of activity and excitement, super cool big screen set up, I will certainly try it again.
