Considering the few options for fine cuisine in upstate New York, I was excited to try out this bed and breakfast. We went on a Sunday morning, and though the website suggests making reservations for brunch, it was not crowded (I suspect weekends such as university graduations, Easter, etc. have heavy volume). We tested out many of the appetizers, from the Shrimp and Vegetable Eggrolls with a wasabi cream, to the polenta fries in gorgonzola sauce. The polenta fries were salty (perhaps too salty), but still delicious. My father ordered the gnocchi, which was delectable. My caesar salad was ordinary, with only one single anchovy on top. I ordered a bowl of lobster bisque, which was tasty but again very salty. The crab cakes were perfectly cooked, moist in the middle with a crisp exterior. All in all, a great find for central upstate New York.
Review Source:Menu is simple, but elegant. Entrees were very good. We went there because the meat and chicken were local, and we heard that they try to include seasonal and locally grown ingredients in their menu. Everything was delicious, but very basic. Ambiance and service were fabulous and more the reason for the 5 stars than the food.
