I have came here consistantly after work for drinks. The bartender which his name is Ian I think, is always wasted like tonight. Â I have tried everything from leaving him huge tips well over 100%! Â Â I will not be returning when this guy is on shift. Â My first visit here he let us wait for thirty minutes while he took shots. I hope to god the WSLCB comes in when he is on shift, the owners will be paying a nice fine for him and he will do the same. Â This guy literally lets anybody behind bar to help clean up which is cool but labor and industries would think different. Sincerely good luck
Review Source:We enjoy press when it is not pact to the brim with people. When it gets too full, it gets really loud, and one almost has to yell to even talk to the person next to them. Bartenders that we have had have always been attentive and knowledgable when asked questions. They usually have a pretty good selection of beers on tap, and they rotate them through regularly it seems. Trivia on Mondays is fun, and the prizes are some of the best in town. The food is less desirable because it comes from Lalo's Pizza next door... which is terrible by the way (See Review). Press is a fun bar, but we also get the feeling that it's a service industry place and it might feel a bit off for some reason because of that. You might get the feeling of the scene in an old western movie when you walk into the bar and the music stops because you're a stranger. Don't let that deter you from going in, because Press is a pretty good bar to stumble into every now and again.
Review Source:If you are not from Spokane and are looking for a place to go make sure you skip Press. Â My boyfriend and I were in Spokane for a wedding and didn't know where to go so we thought we would walk around and find something close to our hotel. Â Press was less than a block away and it looked like a nice place. Â It turns out they don't really care about anyone they don't know. Â We were ignored several times by the server and the bartender as they focused all their attention on people that they knew on a first name basis. Â The drinks not only took a long time to get, but they were far more expensive then we expected. Â We were never asked if we needed another drink or anything from the waitress and when my boyfriend went to get a second drink at the bar he gave up after waiting too long and returned to the table empty handed. Â We don't know if we will ever go back to Spokane, but we know that we will never ever go back to Press. Â If you ever do want to find a great place to get a drink while in Spokane cross the street and head over to the Park Inn!
Review Source:Really cool atmosphere and the service was super fast once they came around. The problem is there is very little seating inside. In the summer they have a huge patio so I'm sure it's better. You don't have to be 21 to o in either which was great since my little sister was with us. I would definitely go back but only if seating was more readily available.
Review Source:One of the friendliest bartenders I've ever had works here. I wish I remembered her name. B and I celebrated our anniversary this past Saturday, so we drove to "the big city". Haha! We had gone to Dry Fly Distillery and were told by the guy there to come here to try their whiskey.
The bartender girl was hilarious and said that she, in good conscience, could not sell us that whiskey, but she would let us taste it. B and I actually didn't think it was that awful, but we were amused by the bartender, so we stayed for a couple of drinks. She was super helpful and made me a delicious Irish Coffee. It's a cute spot and very relaxing. We will go back the next time we're in Spokane.
What  a nice little establishment.  This place is situated right next to the hospital in downtown Spokane.  By all appearances it looks like a coffee shop, but its so much more.  If you look behind the "barista-tender", you see that they are backed up by boos.  So this coffee house also doubles as a full out bar. Â
Under glass are also a gang of different sugary delights. Â We went for the chocolate volcano (I also grabbed a pink cookie for the drive home. Â It was meh). Â The volcano was all yummy warm goodness. Â
Since it was late at night, and I had a two hour drive ahead of me, I also had an iced coffee to go. Â
Loved the atmosphere, vibe, bartender, and their products. Â My drive home was set, thanks to Press.
Came here in the morning for a cup of coffee and to do a little writing. Was pleasantly surprised by the clean, spacious interior. Built it what used to be a Quicki-Lube, they've done a great job of turning it into a very attractive coffee house / martini bar.
During the day they serve French press coffee and pastries, and in the evening it's martinis, beer, and wine. Moreover, they have lots of space for outdoor seating. It's a shame that they are right on Grand Ave with lots of traffic going by (though you can't hear it from inside).
As I'm writing this, I'm on their free wi-fi and I'm the only customer in the place (10am on a Wednesday).
Unlike The Rocket or the Rockwood Bakery, Press is anything but Bohemian. It's also not as expensively decorated as, say, Bistango Martini Bar. But there are plenty of reasons to like Press. Â Their coffee is wonderful, and they aren't cramped for space or overcrowded like the previously mentioned spots.
If you find yourself driving down Grand and thinking about a cup of coffee, I recommend you pass up the Starbucks and give Press a try.
yah it has a yuppie decor. Â the coffee is super delicious, though, and that's really what it's all about, right? Â mmm .... french press ... french press plus a cinnamon stick ... yummmmm. Â Plus, free wi-fi, a super friendly staff, AND you can get alcoholic drinks beyond beer? Â I studied here on a Weds. night and the vibe was chill and not yuppie-obnoxious at all. Â I would totally go here to study OR to get drunk before a night of dancing. Â That makes it unique in my book.
Review Source:This place is totally boring, a generic yuppy martini bar if I've ever seen one. Â From the brand logos hung in every possible window to the dim-yet-obnoxiously-fluorescent lighting, nothing about this place is unique. Â Their pastries are nothing new and neither are their drinks. Â After the inviting, warm website going to Press was a giant letdown. Â I had such high hopes for what was touted as a coffee shop-cum-nightspot, but Spokane has let me down again.
Review Source:Everything I wanted in a coffee shop and then some is tucked away off the corner of 9th & Grand near Sacred Heart.
Introducing a new hot spot in the Cathedral district that has us buzzing and it's not just the caffeine. Introducing the new place I can't get enough of - Press, which recently came into fruition when owners, Realtor Marianne Guenther and developer Jeremy Tangen read my mind and decided there was a need for a modern and hip place to hang out at.
A tasteful place that pours freshly pressed DOMA coffee and offers decadent desserts from the region's finest bakeries.
Oh, indulge already. it's close to Manito Park, so you could always take a brisk walk or justify the calories by doing the bakery-by-bicycle plan this summer.
But there's more...much more. At night this coffee shop transforms into a bar. Press included the opportunity for us to kick back and enjoy a cold one with select bottled beers and a dozen drafts on tap. I am impressed with mix of our favorite micro-brews and with the depth of the wine list, featuring handpicked selections from all over the planet.
And then there's the creative cocktails. I enjoyed the grapefruit martini.
I can't imagine needing much more.
But there is a deck, that this Summer, I can add to my "decks I adore" list, and live music because we all know I love to be serenaded.
And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, Press offers complimentary WI-FI and is open...wait for it....5am until 2am, 7 days a week, making Press a great place to start your day and end your night.
I'm hard-pressed to come up with a something I don't like about this tasty new neighborhood coffeeshop. I went last night and it was hoppin'. The Trailer Park Girls were playing but the sound was not too good for Live Music. I think an acoustic musician would have been better than a band. The service was just OK. Not great, but not bad either.
One serious complaint comes to mind. Too many scrumptious choices and you can always drink your dessert..
Don't worry, I'm here to help you get started on your next obsession.
I suggest you order
"The Post" It's a cup of bliss, created with Jamison Irish Whiskey and brown sugar in a warm cup of the featured press coffee of the day with fresh whip cream.
Oh, you'll definitely be back.
But you won't be alone, I'll meet you there to split some cheesecake.
