It was a decent diner experience. Â The inside was totally vintage, from the wood booths to the large soda fountain complete with vintage glasses and stools when you walk through the door. Â It was dimly lit and some great 80' music blasted as you walked through the door. Â
What we ate: Â The Large Chef Salad could have fed 4 people easily. Â Tons of Crisp lettuce with lots of cheese, meats, mushrooms, tomatoes and olives filled the bowl. Â The home made ranch was wonderfully prepared by who seemed to be the head waitress. It was lite but really seasoned well. Â The parmesan peppercorn was also homemade and very flavorful as well. Â We also shared a Bacon Cheese Burger. Â It was cooked nicely and had a lot of bacon and cheese. Â They know how do to med to med well burgers. The prices are responsible in my book. Â
They also do not take credit or debit cards, this helps to keep the prices lower so they don't have to build in the cost of using the machine. Â I can see where this might be a hindrance, but there's a bank like a block away so if you need cash it's close.
My recent visit to the Princess resulted in an upgrade to a stronger two stars. Â I had a pretty decent cheeseburger. Â It had a good grill crust and was seasoned to my taste. Â I must say I did enjoy it with lettuce, tomato and pickle. Â My lunch partner had a Reuben which looked pretty suspect. Â The corned beef was apparently commercial lunch meat stuff, so I would not order that. Â For future when this is the choice, I will stick to the burger.
