At dinner there on Sunday afternoon about 5 pm; not crowded.  We've eaten at this location other times and this time the quality of the food was seriously crappy.

The green beans were "rubbery" (maybe canned beans?), the french fries were soggy and lukewarm, and the beef ribs were cooked okay but their presentation was overwhelmed by the half-bottle of barbecue sauce poured on them.

The service was mediocre.  Our server never advised us until we wanted to order prime rib that they had already run out (by Sunday afternoon at 5 pm?); and he never removed our empty salad bowls and empty bread plate.  The hostess was roaming around the dining room and was picking up used dishes from occupied tables.

The prices have soared since we ate there in late 2011.  $17 for three fatty beef ribs and french fries?  $3.99 for a small side salad with only a small wedge of tomato?  And $2.99 for iced tea?  Never again!

We should've gone across the street to Dickey's BBQ.  We wouldn't have had the ambiance but the food and prices would be significantly better.

Don't waste your time on this place!

Sunday brunch is by far my favorite time to come here. Open early, for a Sunday in this town, and not terribly busy at open. The staff is friendly and the portions are enormous! Don't be afraid to split something! They used to do Bloody Mary and Mimosa specials on Sunday mornings but those seem to have gone the way of the Dodo.

Went here last night, and all three of us enjoyed our dinners. My husband and I had the prime rib and it was very good, cooked perfect and hardly any fat on the slices, and It was seasoned well . My son had a poor boy sandwich with fried clams and calamari , he said it was very good, and he liked the fries a lot. He got a slice of cheesecake which was huge, and very tasty also. Tracie our waitress was very friendly and we had a great experience here. We will be back soon.

No flavor in the pasta Sicilian. Potstickers have some weird Asian sauce. Potato soup flavorless under the shredded cheese. Pretty disappointing.

The bread they bring out before the food was amazing, as well as the cinnamon bread pudding.

What a change since last year! Burgers were excellent. Service was superb. Very friendly, without being obnoxious. The special pea salad was a great side dish. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Yummy!

Food was bland. Onion rings were too crispy and had funny after taste. Rueben was lacking meat, also too crispy. Forgot bacon on my bacon burger.

Saturday night I arrived at Prospectors as the Gonzaga game was nearly over.  Most diners were done and just watching the game.  After waiting nearly 15 minutes and noting the waitstaff wasn't particularly busy, I got up and found a waitperson to ask if there was someone assigned to wait on my table.  She looked surprised and told me she hadn't been told I was there.  Seemed odd as I didn't feel particularly invisible.  I ordered the Santa Fe salad which I had there about two weeks prior.  This time, the salad and cold chicken were liberally covered with chili powder, the dressing was glopped in a few places, not tossed with the salad, and unappetizing enough I could only eat about half of it.  The chicken was covered with so much chili powder that it was inedible.  Still hungry, I asked for some sweet potato fries which they brough sloppily dumped on a saucer about the size of a coffee saucer.  The fries were not hot, not completely cooked in the center, and dripping in oil.  I tipped up the saucer and oil poured off the saucer.  Two weeks prior, service and food quality were excellent, but this was dismal.  Ownership needs to get this place in order and create consistency.

Agree with the complaints about the meat.  Our chicken avocado bacon club surprised us, everything was good except the chicken that looked grilled, but tasted boiled and tasteless.  Our prawns in our Caesar salad were also tasteless.  We then realized we were eating in more of a francise restaurant.  Restaurant appears new, very nice.  Waitresses were pleasant too.  Groupon gave us half price, but we decided we wouldn't eat here again.

The waitress scares me and the food lacked seasoning.

So after my last review I have been back a couple time and the food went downhill. Cheap cuts of meat and chewy steak. Service was always good but the food was bad. We decided we were not going back again. That was until we saw the sign that the original owners were back in charge. That coupled with a groupon for half off we found brought us back. It is back to the way it was. Good food and good service. Glad the original owners are back and hope they stay. I would have given them 5 stars but they couldn't serve drinks because of a license issue.

Nice atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff. The $39 Prospectors for Two could easily feed two couples.

This restaurant was only okay.  My steak had lots of grizzle, there was no vegetable with my meal...I think because I said I wanted salad, but I didn't realize it was a replacement.  The service was okay, but I guess the reason I'm giving it a 2 star review is that I sat at the bar, and had to listen to the staff and maybe even one of the owner's having inappropriate conversation while I was eating.  It was a bummer after a long day of traveling.

We went here a few weeks ago, knowing we were going for a more meat and potatoes, hearty dinner.

My husband had a steak and could finish it.  I ordered a Trout dinner, but when it was delivered to me there was no trout, just skewered shrimp.  Turns out they had run out of trout but didn't tell the waitress.  The restaurant was amazing.  I was willing to eat what they delivered to the table, but the waitstaff quickly escalated this to the chef who came straight to our table to remedy the situation.  She was very apologetic and quickly offered an alternative to what I had ordered.  To top it off, they took my dinner off the bill!  They prepared another dish for me and it was delicious.

I wouldn't say they have the greatest food in the world, but the attention and service that we were given definitely makes this a restaurant that we'll return to.

We had dinner several times and our favorite dish is beef ribs - The meat melted in your mouth.
Rumor said they serve B'fast on the weekend, then we tried it.
I ordered veggie omelet with hash brown and hot tea. The food came nicely warm, but the omelet were VERY grease, I can scooped the grease with my tea spoon.
I asked paper napkins for that and only ate half top of my omelet.
I will think triple times to go back there for B'fast as there are other better places in the area, but I would go back for dinner.

Have had dinner there with my wife several times and we really enjoyed the food.  I understand there is a new owner and the rumor is that the quality has improved the past year.  We were advised they were now serving breakfast on the weekends and gave it a try.  I had scramble eggs and sausage paddy.  The eggs were cold and I mean refrigerator cold and the sausage was served in a pool of grease.  The hash browns were OK but nothing special and the breakfast roll was a meal in its self.  I would still eat dinner there but based on what we were served for breakfast there are a lot better places in the area for breakfast.

After being acquired by new management, this place went way downhill. I had the shepherd's pie, which was more like a greasy, mushed up meatloaf with a huge lump of mashed potatoes blopped in the middle. Totally unappetizing. My dinner companions got a tough kobe steak (not sure how that's possible) and a fairly bland Thai pasta dish.

On the plus side, the waiter was nice. They should really go back to the old menu and higher standards.

I gave Prospector's another chance after not being a big fan.  They turned my opinion around.  We went there for an early dinner one night and turned out it was happy hour.  All the appetizers were $6.  I remembered how large they were so we decided just to get appetizers for dinner.  Chicken quesadilla had some sort of aioli sauce on it and was spectacular.  Chicken Cordon Bleu Nuggets?  - Extremely salty, but I did like the idea.  Little breaded cordon bleu pieces.

That being said, last night I wasnt extremely hungry, but my wife wanted to go there.  I ended up getting the Thai Chicken Wrap.  It was nice and cold, good crunchy Asian vegetables (sprouts I think, cabbage, etc.), and an amazing peanut sauce which wasn't too spicy at all.  I have a feeling that wrap would have been even better on a hot summer day.

The servers here are fantastic.  Last night was the first time in months I went out of my way to find the manager and tell him how pleased we were with our service.

I really love coming to this place.  I think I've been a total of 3 times and what I enjoy the most is the atmosphere.  It's sort of rustic but then it's not entirely so as you'll notice with the random neon signs inside, surrounding the kitchen.  I like the ambient lighting that gives just the right amount of light and isn't harsh.  The menu is delicious.  I recommend Voo Doo Juice (a mixed drink), baked potato soup, rack of ribs (half portion b/c they give you a lot, although they do stay well as leftovers), and the huckleberry milkshake.  Their service is pretty good.  The servers I've had are energetic and upbeat.
