This place is awesome. We went here with a group of about 12 people. We painted a diptych painting (1 person paints half and the other person paints the other half), which was a wine bottle and a wine glass. It can be frustrating at times during painting, there are instructors telling you what to do at every step and they are also walking around to help. Bring your own drinks and snacks! We brought wine and small snacks. Remember to wear clothes don't really care about, I did end up with paint on my jeans and it doesn't come out!! Overall it was an awesome experience and I can't wait to go back!
Review Source:I first heard of Purple Easel through a living social deal. Â It was a buy one get one free type of thing in which it said painting and BYOB. Â I thought for the price it would be worth it to check it out and I'm so glad I did!!! Â It is soooo awesome that I have been back multiple times with my mom and husband. Â
When you arrive they give you everything you need for the entire night of painting. Â They have someone who teaches you how to mix the paints and paint your masterpiece step by step. Â It is amazing how wonderful everyone's painting turned out. Â It doesn't even matter if you are good at art or not. Â The simple instructions from great staff members make it possible. Â I currently have all of my art work hanging on the wall.
A few tips:
1. Â the longer the class is the harder the painting. Â Try starting out with a 2 hour one.
2. Â Make sure you bring lots of snack and drinks (alcoholic or not)
3. Wear clothes that you don't mind if you get a little paint on because it doesn't come out
4. Â Bring a plastic bag or something you can lay your painting on in the car. Â Sometimes the sides are still wet and you don't want to get it on your car seat
I went with a few friends and my husband and had a blast. Â It was really great to leave with a piece of your own artwork fit to display; I never would have believed it. Drinking wine and nibbling cheese while creating my masterpiece, all the better. Â I've already signed up for my next class and for just $19 for a 2 hour class, you really can't beat the price.
