The Pyramid

Coming to this place over the weekend for the first time and boy this place really deserves more credit! Stumbling my way on up the stairs and through the dance floor, I made my way to the bar where I was met with friendly service from the bartender and a very expansive bar that holds pretty much every drink you could imagine, and for those that would like to pull an all nighter can even get a five hour energy drink! The DJ also plays some really great mixes to make you want to tear up the dance floor all night.

Located in the heart of the Marshfield District, aka Downtown Coos Bay, its a perfect setting operating as a night club on weekends and from what I hear, karaoke nights on other days in the week. Its a good scene and people should seriously start flocking here and bring the fun to downtown, I mean really, this is where the nightlife should be!

Hilarious karaoke, lots of space, and good drinks- what more do you need from a bar? Aside from the karaoke the music wasn't bad; can't recall whether there was a juke box but I believe there was. This place also serves standard bar fare, so if you get hungry you can grab some deep fried goodness. If you go, park in one of the empty public lots and head for the second or third floor of the building located at this address; you will do some definite walking up flights of stairs, but it isn't too bad.

While there a few months ago with friends I tried a few drinks and was happy to find they weren't watered down. Also appreciated the bartender giving us free fries- heck yes! I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for drinks and some laughs.

The Pyramid is the new bar that opened in the Old City Hall building in Coos Bay.  It operates as a dance club on Fridays and Saturdays, and hosts karaoke nights on Wednesdays and Sundays.  I assume it's more or less just a bar on other nights.  The bartender (I believe his name is Jesus) that I've had the pleasure of interacting with over a few different nights is incredibly friendly and accommodating.  The karaoke scene is friendly, and the KJ does an excellent job of keeping things moving and is faithful to the list order (rather than taking bribes to move people ahead), which I appreciate.  A good scene so far, I hope they continue to prosper.  A good addition to the Coos Bay/North Bend nightlife scene.  Oh, and they keep Negra Modello in stock, a rarity in Oregon!
