  Not a good experience. We were starving so we yelped Chemult and this place had good reviews. The man who took our order (younger male) was unfriendly and easily confused.  An older man joined him as he made our food and they proceeded to talk trash about our order. Very rude. We were still starving so we didn't tell them to shove it. Also it was a filthy filthy establishment. After my hunger subsided I realized it probably hadnt been the best idea to eat there. Lucky us we did not get sick. The sandwiches were bland and the fries terrible.

  Look for the ice cream cone sign. Stopped here after visiting Crater Lake. Good burgers, good shakes, a strange collection of services (restaurant, ice cream shop, convenience store, gas station) which can make it slow if there is only one person working there.

  Good ice cream here - peanut butter milkshakes with tons of peanut butter, cups or cones too.  Propane too.  And gas.  And food.  They were closed on Thursday but open on Sunday, recently.  If you find them open then go here!

  It's a burger place! It's a convenience store! It's a gas station! It's an ice cream shop! It's a roadside memorabilia store!
  
  R & D Market (aka "Market and Fuel") in Chemult is one of the few places that has food and is open in the late summer (end of September). Seriously, this town has a lot of buildings marked as restaurants, but they were either seasonally or permanently closed.

  They have a wide array of burgers, and a few other sandwiches, as well as fried chicken, shakes, and ice cream, and even deep fried mushrooms:

  I got "the Cuban", a giant ham, cheese, and pickle sandwich. Made me very full. It came with a side of fries. With an awesome shake on the side, i stayed full all afternoon.

  My wife got the garlic burger, which was cooked to order, and she was pleased with it, as she was with her shake.

  Overall, for the scant food offerings in Chemult, you can't go wrong with this place - good food, made to order (don't expect fast food), and they are open in the off season, which is more than I can say for most of the 'restaurants' in this place. Also, if you're into buying model cars, they have a bunch for sale in the convenience store, along with other roadside type memorabilia.
  
  If you're passing through Chemult while hungry, try the Cuban!
