Firstly, they have Woodchuck Pear on draft...WINNER!!!!
I typically only go here for lunch since I work next door. Â My lunch order is always the Crawfish Etoufee, it's creamy with just the right amount of spices and a boatload of crawfish. Â On the rare occasion that we go to Landry's for dinner I can't resist the boilers! Â The one person boiler can easily be shared by two people. Â My only minor complaint (that isn't really a complaint) is the loud music, so I wouldn't recommend going to Landry's when a band is playing if you had conversation in mind. Â If you want to enjoy some good music and great food then this is the place to go in Fort Smith. Â :)
"Fri-Sat 5 pm - 11 pm" NOT! Â Walked in at 10:05pm and were told they were closed. The hours are directly cut and pasted from what Landry's entered on their Yelp page. Â They have the same incorrect info on Google. Â I literally drove through hell and high water to get there as it was raining so hard there were cars stalled due to the standing water being so high right on US 64 (Garrison Rd.) They had not closed early because of the rain. Â FYI not their fault but Garmin GPS has them in the wrong spot they are on US-64/Garrison Rd not off it.
Review Source:EAT HERE! Ft. Smith surprisingly has several great places to eat. Landry's is what I would consider one of two MUST eat places in Ft. Smith. They have great food (the etouffee, blackened sausage and fried oysters are some of my favourites) and a fun laid back N'awlens atmosphere. They have live music on the weekends too. Whatever you do, no matter how full you are, try the bread pudding. It is great and the sauce is fantastic. I didn't even like bread pudding until I tried theirs.
Review Source:This place is great! Â Stopped here on a Friday night for dinner and some beers. Â Great live show (didn't catch the name of the band) Â and the waitress was very attentive. Â Decent beer selection; the etoufee was better than a couple other places we had in Memphis. Â We split the 2 person boiler and it was excellent (even though they were out of the crawfish). Â We probably could have split a 1 person boiler, it comes with a huge amount of food. Â Maybe its because some things were out of season, but the boiler dinner ended up being about $35 each which was a little more than we were expecting.
Review Source:This is my dad's favorite spot when visiting family in Arkansas/Oklahoma. He has been coming here since it was in the small location! He swears by the monstrous Cajun Prime Rib so we all made our way to Landry's.
With a part of 8 it is quite a feat to get a table without a reservation. Luckily, we called ahead. If you are thinking that you can just walk in a grab a seat you will be in for a surprise. This place was hopin!
Live music, cute décor, and friendly staff got our dining experience off to a good start!
We started by having some gumbo. This was pretty tasty and had the right combination of seafood to gumbo mixture.
For the main course I ordered the Famous Seafood Pasta-$18.98(<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AkyqLVWHqPGiINt2B22I0g?select=5esFd4txXZpI80yo1XNJLA#8FAZlaqhkSEIg3kMaR_lAg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) . First let me say that the portions are huge! If the menu says famous you almost have to try it! This was angel hair pasta topped with a Cajun Seafood Sauce. I loved the huge chunks of crawfish/shrimp and the flavor was totally on point. It was rich, well-seasoned, and had just the right amount of kick to it. This dish is also served with corn and a slice of bread. Let me tell you that three of us could have just split this one dish. Side note: this dish is great as a leftover.
The most popular dish ordered at our table was the Rib Eye prepared Nawlins Style (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AkyqLVWHqPGiINt2B22I0g?select=5esFd4txXZpI80yo1XNJLA#UI4Ly-jMvfTSqcrtht8PAg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a> )! At $35.98 a pop weighing in at the biggest and most expensive item on the menu, I thought to myself this better be good!  I think total there were of these dishes brought to our table. I am so surprised the table didn't just crumble with the sheer weight of the food! This rib eye is topped with the same Cajun seafood sauce that came on the pasta. Once you start in on the rib eye you notice it is also served atop a bed of pasta and is served with corn and bread as well. Needless to say that no one left hungry!
We tried the bread pudding as this is supposed to be the best bread pudding ever. Meh, I've had better. Nothing to write home about.
Note: All dishes are served with a small side salad
I have to say that it seems like Landry's is a one trick pony with the Cajun Seafood Sauce that seems to be encompassed in to most of the dishes we tried. I like the atmosphere but I feel that since they are growing they may be losing some of their customer service. I believe we saw the owner and she use to stop and say hello. On this evening she just glanced in our direction and didn't even bother with a smile.
I would go back to Landry's but would certainly split a dish with a friend and would try something without the universal sauce.
I love Cajun cooking. Â When I sat down to peruse the menu what jumped out at me was the 1 Person Boiler! Â Snow crab, stone crab claws, shrimp, crawfish and andouille sausage, all on 1 beautiful plate? Â "Put me in, coach!" is what came to mind. Â Unfortunately, I had arrived on a Wednesday night and you can't have a boiler on a Wednesday night.
So I settled for the "Taste of New Orleans". Â It was very good but after you set yourself up for the boil with corn and taters it just comes up short.
The food is really great. I've been stuck on the Seafood Pasta the last few times I have visited. The crawfish in it is perfect. The bread pudding is to die for. Great dressing on the salad too. Huge portions.
I enjoy live music. That being said, I believe R. Landry's is a little too small to enjoy the live music AND have a conversation. So, If you're afraid of saying something stupid on a first date definitely go on a night when they have a band (nearly every night). Otherwise, get there early in the evening and enjoy the band after your meal.
Landry's is my favorite restaurant in town!
I don't like bread pudding, but I love Landry's bread pudding. Weird.
I haven't been there for years (moved away), so I'm not sure if they still do this but they used to have local bands play live some nights. Cozy little joint.
If I'm ever in Fort Smith again, Landry's is on my list of places I need to revisit.
I was in Arkansas for 3 weeks for work, my co-workers and I discovered Landrys our 3rd day via Yelp and went back 4 times. Â Amazing owners, good service and EXCELENT food. Â You HAVE to get the seafood pasta and bread pudding. Â Its been over a year since we were in Arkansas and we still talk about the food.
Review Source:Landry's is as good as anything you'll ever eat. We don't even live in Arkansas anymore and we still talk about this place - usually when we're eating somewhere that serves cajun food and we say, "ah.... remember when we lived in Fort Smith... remember Dory and Natalie?" Yeah - the food is awesome and the beer selection is the best. Plus, Dory and Natalie are great ladies. We might be a little biased because they used to be our neighbors back a million years ago but I promise they served us the same food they served everyone else. Trust me, if you are in the area and want some super tasty food try this place out. You will not be disappointed.
Review Source:Based on the other reviews here, I went over there for dinner on a Tuesday night. Â Parking is weird, all the parking lots surrounding the store have signs saying no parking. Â Parking on the street is free after 5pm though. Â
The food was pretty good, twice as much there as I wanted to eat. Â Crawfish Etouee with corn and a piece of bread was $15. Â Service was good too, but it was near-empty.
A small band started playing when my food came, nice to hear live local musicians.
Excellent Cajun food, considering it's distance from the gulf. Â Blackened sausage app was very good, and gumbo was dark and authentic, though lacked a little on spice. Â Beer selection was great, and service friendly. Â Only issues... Â Landrys is a bar at heart, so a bit loud, and kick up the spice a bit. Â Well worth the trip
Review Source:We love all things spicy so when we craved cajun Landry's was our go to place. Their crawfish etoufee is excellent and their seafood pasta. We've gone many times and had only one disappointment when the fish was uncooked in the middle. Other than that it's a very friendly, laid back place. Fast service, great food, and a fun spot for special nights out.
Review Source:I recently made a cross country drive and stopped in Fort Smith for the night. I looked on Yelp to see the top rated restaurants in the area for dinner and gave this place a try. Â OMG does not begin to give this place justice. The food was amazing and I am still thinking about that bread pudding - it truly is the best dessert in the world. I had the creole chicken - delish! And my gf had a combo plate - Taste of New Orleans - with gumbo, red beans & rice and crawfish etouffee. She LOVED it! The food was priced low for the portion sizes. We each left with food in a to go box that we couldn't finish.
Even if you are full - you MUST try the bread pudding. It's like Christmas in your mouth.
There are a couple of joints like this around; New Orleans meets Arkansas in an old restored downtown brick building with live music just inside the door pressed against the window. Â The food was ok... except Blackened Shrimp which were full of tasty blackness. Â They don't come with many so order more. Â It has Boulevard on tap, tap and double tap that.
Update: St. Patrick's Day had an Irish band play and it was delightful, hooray!
I'd been hankering for some genuine Creole cooking for a very long time, so we stopped in to Landry's for a bite. Boy-o-boy, were we not disappointed!
We came at an off-peak time so we could chat up the staff to find out what they liked to cook and what their specialties are. Natalie and Dorie brought out some of the most tasty, sumptuous Cajun dishes we'd ever enjoyed!
The gumbo was a delight -- complex smoky flavors and spicy -- just the way I like it. I wish I could get my roux to taste like that. The jambalaya was a extremely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and everything was homemade -- just like grandma used to make!
Bring an empty stomach because portions are generous and you'll find a hard time stopping!
Dear God!
We went to this place on the advice of some "foodie friends" and let Dorie one of the owners bring us a little bit of everything and.....sheesh! She did us right!
We had the amazing seafood pasta, stuffed shrimp, steak, seafood gumbo, and about 6 other dishes that just destroyed us!
A-m-a-z-i-n-g!
Be sure to get the bread pudding for dessert...!
