Ramsey Cafe

We were passing through on our way home from Kentucky, and were looking for local flavor. The food was typical diner food, well-executed. This was the first opportunity we have had to try a "horseshoe": texas toast with meat, loaded with fries, and covered with cheese sauce. This worked well with ham, beef, and hamburger. We were served by the owner. The place could use a little upkeep, but was very clean. Prices were very reasonable.

I don't eat here often, but I've eaten here quite a few times over the years with my parents, grandparents, and even great grandparents.  If you enjoy a small-town cafe with a little character, you'll love it.  If you require a 5-star experience with a celebrity chef...well, you're just silly to expect to find something like that here.

Ramsey Cafe makes a variety of traditional "down home" dishes, and they do it pretty well.  If you grew up in a city or suburb, you'll probably find it quite "charming" and you'll feel like you're getting a real slice of Americana.  If you grew up in a small town and you know these types of restaurants, you'll just feel like you're getting a piece of home.  Either way, it's worth a stop if you're in the area and you need to eat.
