I asked the lady at the front desk where I can find a good brew and she suggested this place. I had to go back and thank her for suggesting this place because it was so good. It is a great bar... coffee shop... music venue... place to play games... to tell you the truth I can't describe it. It is everything that you would hope a "bar" would be. Imagine cheers without the scripts. The beer was all craft on tap. They had wine. However, it would not be abnormal for you to go there and not drink a sip of alcohol (plenty of people were drinking coffee and sodas). The music was great. The staff not only helped you but wanted to have conversations with you. I know! What a crazy idea! It was a great mixture of older people and a younger crowed. Truly a great experience!
Review Source:Small little cozy hole in the wall place. Â The coffee is not all that. Â It is more of a bar than a "coffee haus." Â I guess downtown Franklin is not a happening place since we were there on a Friday night and it was half-empty. Â Their main street was a desert on a Friday night. Â I guess they are trying to be a Gastropub but their idea of food is Dandy sandwiches and two kinds of beer.
Review Source:For Franklin, this place is a gem (you'll get that if you visit the town)! Â Rathskeller is a bar/coffee shop/cafe/music venue behind the main street of Franklin, NC. Â They don't open until 11am, so don't expect to get your early morning brew, but they're open through the night to accommodate local performers, town folk, and tourists. Â They serve sandwiches at lunch (not sure about dinner food), and they have some great coffee and beer. Â They only had 2 brews on tap when I was there (both German) and they were ICE cold! Â The owners/staff are friendly, there are board games in the back, and free wifi. Â What more can you ask for?
