I've never dined at the restaurant, but have had food delivered once. We couldn't taste the food for the grease, and it wasn't a cheap order.

I am cracking up at the psycho below who is flipping out at the owner because he "hates babies" i swear, yelp brings out the crazies.
RC fowlers is pretty good. I havent been in a few years, but the food was always good when i went. I actually worked there for a little while, and it was a fun experience.
i like the wings, and the pizzas. they have a really good sauce that is a mix of buffalo medium and honey mustard that is really good, and the waffle fries and ranch are excellent as well.
everyone loved the fried pickles, i'm not a pickle fan myself though. i prefer RC to pluckers, if i still lived in the area i would still be eating there.

To call RC Fowlers a cheap ripoff of Pluckers, another wing bar right down the street, would be a misnomer only because their food is totally overpriced.

It's been a long day for me, and I didn't have time to go grocery shopping. When you're out of ketchup, you know that you really need to go shopping soon. However, I just didn't have the time or the energy, and I wanted a hamburger for dinner. So I called RC Fowler's. The conversation went something like this.

    Restaurant: Hello, RC Fowler's.
Me: Hi. I'd like to get a delivery please.
Restaurant: Ok. What's your phone number

    -Requisite exchange of details-

Restaurant: What can I get for you?
Me: I'd like a hamburger and waffle fries.
    Restaurant: Anything else?
Me: No, but can you MAKE SURE they include ketchup?
    Restaurant: No problem

45 minutes later, my food arrives. Normally I'd go into some long, quasi-amusing diatribe here, but as I said before, it's been a long day. The moral of the story is that there is no ketchup anywhere to be found. There's also no mustard, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, steak sauce, or any other form of sauce one might consider putting on a hamburger. I'll be eating a dry hamburger, which I hate.

Is the food at RC Fowlers really as bad as a 1 star rating across the board? Probably not. On a good day, some of their food might warrant a solid 2. However, this isn't the first time they've forgotten something, so maybe it's fair that I forgot to give them a 2nd star.

In closing, there are much better wings, much better service, and much better just about everything you could possibly conceive of right down the street at Pluckers. About the only time you should consider going to RC Fowlers is if Pluckers is full, if the zombie apocalypse has occurred and you need to stock up on food supplies, or if you want to exist in a vacuum that is completely and utterly devoid of ketchup. Beyond that, seek your deep fried sustenance elsewhere.

ETHAN THE OWNER HATES BABIES Look, my husband and I love wings. We have gone to to pluckers, wings n more, wing stop etc.  anytime we see a new wing place we always want to try. My husband's birthday we had driven past Fowler's. The advertisements outside said WINGS. My husband, myself, and my 9 month daughter went in for dinner. Inside seemed welcoming, was not greeted, but hostess that sat us ended being our waitress. Two adults and booster seat. Sat down, ordered app and food and a side ordered of baked beans for my daughter. The waitress brought the bowel of baked beans and when I went to grab them she placed them in front of my 9 month old daughter. My daughter of course went to grab them before I could take the bowl and HOT BEANS WENT DOWN HER SHIRT ON HER HANDS AND DOWN HER LEGS. Instantly my daughter was hysterical, my husband yanked her out of her seat and I took her from him to bathroom. EVERYONE there heard and saw this. My daughter was covered in this, upset, clothes drenched.
The waitress did apologize many times. However a manager never came out to access situation or see if my daughter okay. By the time I came back to table from cleaning my daughter the food was cold. I was still trying to console her and trying to feed her what was left.
When my husband and I got home that evening he called Fowler's and was told the waitress never informed anyone and manager sorry. Offered a 10 dollar gift card IF WE RETURNED THERE.
I called the manager, Ethan, who never gave me his last name. He asked me what I wanted. Look, they couldn't even take off the little bowl of beans that were $1.95 from our ticket. Manager apparently heard my daughter screaming but because the waitress never verbally told him the issue, he didn't think this was a problem. "Ethan" with no last name, the only person in America with no last name, said he is the owner of the establishment and no one else I could talk to. Ethan, the owner of Fowler'S never asked our names, phone numbers, tried to remedy the situation. I understand customers that complain can be annoying, I get that. I have worked in customer service and sales before. But look, we are talking about a 9 month old that was covered in hot beans due to negligence from a waitress, from a restaurant that maybe had 10 tables, 30 open. Not busy. And when I reached for the plate sat in front of my daughter.
There are soooooo many of you reading this that frequent RC Fowler's and are thinking why would you bring a 9 month old here. Again we past by, saw "RC Fowler's WINGS" and wanted to try it. If a 9 month old shouldn't be here or not be accommodated, put on front door 18 and up, or this is a Bar, or don't seat me and my husband with a 9 month old that you provide a high hair for if she shouldn't be there.
And "Ethan", the manager, the district manager, the Owner of RC Fowler's, you need to re evaluate what kind of establish you want, and what kind you perceive to the public. "Ethan" you should be ashamed of yourself that you "own" an establishment that for some reason your waitresses are afraid to tell you if they spilled hot beans on an infant, AND that you own the establishment and HEAR AN INFANT HYSTERICALLY CRYING BECAUSE HOT BEANS WERE SPILLED ON HER AND YOU DON'T CHECK ON THE CUSTOMERS!
"Ethan, you really need to take pride in being an owner of an establishment, and know customer service is the main thing people in this day and age want. So people reading this in Austin texas, please go to Pluckers, please go to Wings n more, please go to wing stop. Because their food is great, and you know what makes food taste better??? GOOD SERVICE!!!  Which I promise you, you WILL NOT RECEIVE GOOD SERVICE AT RC FOWLER's IN AUSTIN TEXAS: 12233 RANCH ROAD 620 N
And "Ethan" next week when you only have 5 tables sat and 35 open and no one coming in the door, you will know why. Because you don't care about babies!!!!

I wanted to try their crawfish special they started offering and it definitely was a tasty experience. They offer a mild, medium, and spicy to satisfy all palates. I had their medium but the spicy is where it's at. Definitely burns the lips so good! Also, the mudbugs come with sausage, corn, and potatoes so it's a pretty good meal.

They always have ridiculously cheap drink specials so washing the food down with a 32 oz beer for $5 is a must.

Anyone in search of a crawfish fix should definitely try this place!

Place is not bad for a neighborhood bar... actually the chicken wings are pretty tasty and the ranch sauce is one of the best.

I ordered the crawfish that were on special, and more than half were dead before they were cooked (the tails were straight and not curled).  You could taste the bad ones.  Gross.  Also, there was almost no juice in them, and only three or four of the bugs were good sized; the rest of my two pounds were babies.

They did comp them, so that's in their favor, and when they ask if you want spicy, they aren't kidding.  My coworker swears by their boneless wings, but I hate the concept (just order chicken tenders, asshat, clearly those aren't wings).

Service was slow and sporadic, the interior was WAY too dark for lunchtime, and the place felt like a dive bar that decided to be a restaurant spontaneously.

I did love the 90s alt-rock music, though.

I have to come back here and re-up my fowlers review. This place has some really nice options and the wings are always cooked fresh.

There are many sauces to choose from for the wings (including a breaded option that isnt on the menu shhh!)

There is a sauce for everyone.

Some really good beer/drink specials during the week.

If you aren't in the mood for wings, check out the burger or the shrimp po boy.

There are tons of TVs to watch the game and the service is always very attentive.

Some people might think fowlers should be something it isn't. It's not trying to be anything more than a place to watch sports and have a good drink with friends. Food is very good for a bar.

Pluckers and Wingstop?!?! really, the tiny wings at Wingstop for the price is ridiculous. And pluckers is more of a restaurant and doesn't offer breaded wings and is a chain.

fowlers is a bar with some very good food.

Don't forget to join the frequent customer club where you got $10 credit for every $100 you spend.

Please stay away from this place. I've given them three chances and it's been terrible each time... Either we get our appetizers after our entrees or we never get asked if we'd like drinks. Usually one of the two happens.

Also don't ask for any sour cream because it'll come out in a frozen no matter how many times you ask for a new one.

I wish the manager would take his job seriously and stop flirting with his staff and customers...

The wings were hot, the Caribbean Jerk Sauce too oily. The beer specials were a bonus. Service was good. I would return as this place is much better than Wingers and the customer service better than at Pluckers!

Okay. I was very scared to go to this place last night (although I did miss a fire alarm in the apartment building..so this place saved me from panic attack since Thursday the unit below us really did catch fire) BUT back to why I was scared to go... My fiancee told me someone he KNEW got shot there before. Uh, yeah, not for me. But we wanted to get out of our smelly apartment and Shooters wasn't "happening" (parking lot was empty) so we went a little further.

They had $5 gigantic Shiner mugs that took me both hands to hold, karaoke, and my fiancee ordered food which was surprisingly tasty! Whatever the ranch flavor he ordered was very similar to my favorite ranchy flavor at Pluckers. Some greasy bar food at its best.

We will definitely come back. It wasn't the cleanest place but everyone in the bar seemed to be having a great time and the food was good. And they had a cop.. maybe they didn't when someone got shot.. Don't know. I lived in Houston at the time.

I give it 2 stars because I was able to finish my meal. I ordered a burger, of all things. I thought initially I was taking a big risk as my friends all ordered wings. Surprise!

They forgot my fiance's order, one set of wings were dried out and barely lukewarm, my own fries with the burger were nearly cold and the waitress forgot my friend's side of fries. The food is not cheap, so it was pretty disappointing. Since it took nearly an hour to get our food we didn't send it back, we were committed at this point.

Also, the food is very salty like a previous yelper stated. It was an adventure but not one worth revisiting.

This place is great if you're in the mood for wings but want good portions and less hustle and bustle of a Pluckers. I love Pluckers too but for different reasons. We pass the Pluckers at Lakeline mall to get here. RC Fowlers also has Karaoke and DirecTV for watching those games on the NFL Network. They also deliver!

I recommend the Boneless Buffalo Wings. They're massive compared to anywhere else I've been and they have a good choice of flavors. They are not stingy with the ranch dipping sauce either =)

They have a hell of a lot of appetizers but the fried pickles are hot and delicious and you can pick spears or slices!

They also have bad-ass cheap drink specials every night of the week, not just on the off-days. I miss living nearby but I drop by when I'm in the area.

The bartenders are cool, waitresses  were cute, but the wings are not up to my standard by any means.  However, they do deliver which is AWESOME and they have great specials too.  I haven't tried anything else off the menu, and honestly don't think I ever will.  But this will be a go-to delivery option place for my room mate and i on a desperate drunken night...

    Just gross.

Wings weren't cooked fresh. Taken from under a heat lamp.

    The place is dirty.

    The wing sauce was oily.

    Won't be back.

Wingstop and Pluckers def better by far.

When you ask any Austinite where to get wings from, they almost always say Pluckers (some say wingstop but we don't care about them =] ). But why doesn't RC Fowlers come up? Don't just believe me, read the rest of the reviews, the wings are great. I was presented with huge wings the size of pluckers the couple of times I've been there and they have specials every day (half price wings on mon and tues is great since you can get wings for less than 50 cents each).

The interior is very very dark for a restaurant but I guess they want more of the bar feel? It's not messy but for some reason it feels dirty or sticky, can't really explain that.  though..

But the service is definitely off. Servers will forget your order and run back to your table to ask you wanted fries right? No, I wanted onion rings... You will run out of water before you get a refill so ration accordingly when getting hotter wings. I would have loved to give RC Fowlers 4 stars but service is a big part of going out to eat. Maybe it's better during a game when you're distracted but sometimes people just want to eat too.

In the end, it's worth it to give it a shot when you've got a hankering for wings and don't want Pluckers for the millionth time. All restaurants have their spotty servers and I may have been unfortunate to get them twice.

If you're looking for a dark & dingy bar for some decent wings, look no further.  The wings here are good and from what I've tasted, consistent.  There are a few things I find odd though:

    1) Why are the chicken wings constantly fluctuating in size?  One day we'll come in, and the wings will be the size of drumsticks.  Hormone injected?  You betcha!

Then we'll come in a week later, and they'll be half the size (if not less).  Just... bizarre.

    2) Service is a hit or miss.  We've had a few good waitresses, with several just outright piss poor ones.  Last time we were there, the girl was clocking out near the end of our meal.  But given how many requests she forgot (more ranch, change the TV channel, etc) during the course of the meal, I think she clocked out a long, long time ago.

    3) Other than the wings, the rest of the menu is meh.  Waffle fries are good only if you ask them to cook them longer.  Otherwise, they come out almost white in color, too soft, and way underdone.

    4) The clientele... goodness.  During the last visit, I couldn't tell which was more disturbing... the table next to us that looked like they just drove up in their trailer home (sleeveless cut-off t-shirts, dad locked in on the TV, kids throwing food everywhere, and mom not giving a damn), or the table of high school "thugs" in the booth next to ours cussing at the top of their lungs.  Seriously, this place makes Pluckers look like a 5 star establishment.

It's a shame as the wings have not missed a beat, but I really can't bring myself to give Fowler's more than 3 stars.

Rick and Chris are true business owners.  I love this place.  The food is good and super affordable.  I love their bartenders and the huge portions of liquors they hook you up with.  Great place to hang out on Saturdays and Sundays with your friends without being judged!

I can't ask for more...I think Fowlers should open up more spots...great stuff guys..keep up the great tasting food and wings....yum!!!

First off, I want to say that I visited this place because I purchased a Social Living Deal.  What I found out was that those who come to this place with a coupon, such as Living Social, are excluded from any daily specials the place is offering.  Now talk about being treated like a second class citizen.  RC Fowlers, you offered a coupon, knowing you were going to take a hit on profit, but at the cost of bringing in new, and hopefully repeat, clientele.  The way that you are using the deal, to bring people in and then treat them differently then any of your other patrons is counter-intuitive to your purpose of having a coupon. Why even offer a coupon in the first place?

    Other wise -

The food here came in big portions, but this place is nothing more then a bar, that happens to serve food.  I tried the boneless buffalo wings and they were better then some other places (i.e Chilis).  Side salad was ok, fried shrimp was ok, chicken sandwich was ok. Just ok.

I have read other posts about bad service, but our waitress was very nice, funny and attentive.  The only reason I am ok with giving this place the 1 star that I have to give anyways.

If you like wings, the quality and size of the wings here are far better than any other local places. In fact, I normally pass on wings at places like BWW (or B-dubs), but I always get the wings here at Fowlers.  They have half price wings early in the week which is even better - a good choice on a Monday night.  Drink prices are decent.  I had a grey goose martini and it was good, cold and less than 7 bucks.  Not bad.  I'm not big on beer, but often see $2 specials for some domestic beers.

Now the bad, it is a musty little place...tables are almost always sticky.  Guess it's all the lovely wing juice.  :)  And service is spotty.  It seems like they have alot of turnover.  We always seem to get trainees.  They give a good effort, but not the best service.  If you are in a hurry, then maybe not the place for you.  I don't mind the slower service especially once I have my martini in hand.

I have seen the poker tournaments which brings in an array of good people watching.  They seem to enjoy it.  All-in-all it's a solid neighborhood bar, less than a mile from where I live so it has made it on my bar rotation for sure.  Will definitely be back for a wing fix and a casual, no-fuss evening.

If you look at my reviews, I love a good value for the dollar.  Fowlers has great prices, and the wings are awesome.  Somehow they are bigger than Pluckers.  They always have drinks specials, and even regular price for draft beer is a bargain.

TV's all over the place and a poker in the back, its a blue collar neighborhood man cave.

Lunch specials EVERY day, even Sundays.  My son and I like to go on Sunday's to watch all the football games.  We can get out for under $25.  IMPOSSIBLE to do that a Pluckers.

    Thank you Fowlers!!

Really good boneless chicken wings...Huge and tasty!  Wed night they do half price wings and seem to have a lot of other specials going on during the week.
Our waitress was spot on throughout the meal. She checked on us a bunch without being over the top.  It's a local spot with a working class attitude, no frills.  I don't want frills, I want tasty fried chicken wings and beer.
Good food, good service, cold beer= Happy fat guy.

I know my wings! Most places order from the same chicken supplier and therefore have the same standard (I say small) wings. Fowlers orders from a different supplier, so their wings are always larger than the chain stores. They also have 25 flavors, so you can surely find one to your liking

The beer is cheap and they have specials daily. It's a very casual atmosphere and can be family friendly early in the night. Later, the nightly poker games start, and it can get slightly rowdy.

My flavorites - Mango Tango and the Spicy Ranch is the best!

Conveniently located near Lakeline mall.  The wings here are better than all the chain restaurants I've tried in town!  They're crispy and not greasy and offer unique flavors.

Their motto:  If we can't make it, we'll wing it.

My absolute favorite is the Mango Tango paired with Atomic Teryaki (HOT!).  Their baked potatos, pizzas and nachos are awesome too!
Casual atmosphere, plenty of tv's, GREAT specials every day, great for watching sports.  They also have karaoke - super fun!

Say hello to Ricky Ong - super nice guy!

I'm within walking distance of this place and it works out great. The wings are consistently better than the Lakeline Plucker's wings and the pizza is really tasty. During the week they have great food specials and the beer is always reasonably priced. We've been going there for nearly 5 years and have realyl liked our experience there. The staff recognizes us and treats us very nicely.

I like to watch UFC fight nights and UT football there and it's usually a lot of fun. The key is to get there early enough to get a good seat. There are a lot of TV's but quite honestly the sound system kind of sucks. Occasionally if I sit in just the right spot I can make out the commentary. Fortunately I'm usually too busy conversing with friends to worry too much about the sound.

I would have given it 5 stars - but here are my complaints. To be fair - I've only experienced bad service on fight and UT nights, but it's somewhat understandable, as it gets PACKED and they have a lot of new waitstaff. If you get there late, you may be forced to sit in a makeshift seating spot that might be right next to a door or stuffed in a corner. I have a waitress I like to request (name is escaping me) but it is quite possible to get a waitress that is overwhelmed/inexperianced.

So overall, I like the atmosphere, food, most of the waitstaff is friendly, and the price is good + I can walk to it. Just get there early on event nights! I hope it stays around for a while.

    Another solid wing bar.

I usually write pretty detailed reviews, but that's unnecessary here.

Beer is cheep.  Wings are tasty.  Service is never below par.

Fowler's offers different flavors than other wing places so it's a good addition when you are tired of Plucker's and Wing Stop but still want wings.  If you are going here for anything else, then you should have gone somewhere else.

First, let me say that I agree with a number of these reviews that the prices on their regular menu are a bit expensive for their product.  However, they have daily specials and happy hour deals that make it a worthwhile neighborhood sports bar to hang out in.

Note: I'm 51 and traveled around the world a bit and my wife and I love to hang out and party.  Recently, we were blessed with a son, our first one.  Needless to say, going out can be a bit difficult.  However, the folks and staff at Fowlers totally dig us and don't mind my toddler's occasional food dropping on the floor.  Not once did we ever feel we were not welcomed because we had a toddler.

I like the place because the staff takes a moment to get to know who you are and remembers your name and favorite drinks and food orders.  Not only is the place surrounded by TV's but they also offer Buzztime Trivia and Poker.

So as a neighborhood sports pub with great happy hour and special pricing, Sport TV, Trivia games, karaoke and a friendly staff, I have to give Fowlers a 4 paws salute.  Maybe if they offer a food special on Saturday's I'd give them a 4 paws and a tail salute!

RC Fowlers is definitely not somewhere I would go back to. While their drink specials are affordable, the food is not something to bother with. The service is non existent at best, managers - you'll be lucky if they're around, and the worst part? Waiting around 20 minutes for your food to arrive. Perhaps they should close the restaurant part and make it a complete bar instead.
If you think about going there, skip it completely and head to Pluckers, which is two minutes down the road.

Do you like rude customers AND rude staff?! How about over priced beer, crappy food, and absolutely, to the level of ridiculous, bad service? I am sure you will totally love this place then.

I have never ever wanted to tip a waitress below 15% as much as I have every single time I have gone here. I gave this place a few chances even, my loathing of this "restaurant" has come from consistently bad bad bad service and food.

If I could stand in front of this place with a sign that says "Bad Food, Please Avoid". I would. No one deserves to eat what they make here, not even to see a UFC fight for free.

First, I have to admit I've never tried a single traditional wing here. That's how good the 'boneless tenders' are. I tried them once and haven't really had a need to look back. After moving to Austin I discovered this 'Spicy Ranch' flavor that everyone seems to have. Its root derive from the amazing flavors of Ranch and Spicy. I know...amazing.

The fries compliment the tenders quite well, but the onion rings are fantastic. Not the flaky, falling apart type. These are men's rings....you know, those smooth rings that once you take a bite into jet a small bit of deliciousness into your mouth, before the batter and onion combine to complete the trio of delicious.

I've also tried their burgers, which you can have tossed in wing sauce. This sounds horrendous, but really you just get a hint of the flavor you request. I tried Traditional Hot, and it gave my burger a bit of spice, as if I was eating a sausage hybrid.

Their Caesar salad isn't very good, but if you're coming for that at a wings establishment you shouldn't be surprised. Chips and queso? Mostly Velveeta with maybe some Ro-tel mixed in.

Occasionally there are poker, karaoke and MMA watching nights. I've been to all three. Keep in mind the poker and karaoke nights intersect sometimes...so the only karaoke singers you get are going for bonus chips in their poker tournament...ie: be prepared to hear old country staples and terrible classic rock songs you prayed time forgot. MMA nights aren't bad, other than charging for cover. $5 lets you sit there for a few hours, but I guess that's standard fare these days.

Service has always been good, and I've never had a problem with their delivery process, other than trying to get someone to pick up the phone some nights is like trying to reach the Pope.

All in all a worthy addition for the RR 620 crowd, and I find myself coming back again and again.

Okay, I see a whole lotta 1 and 2 stars, I don't know what my friends and I have done right, but this place is great. I spent my last night in ATX here stuffing my face with wings and beer.

Fowler's has an extensive list of sauces for their wings, my personal favorite was the spicy mango, the garlic parmesan is fantastic but avoid it altogether if you're on a date or don't want to taste it in your breath even after brushing and rinsing 5 different times.

Their half price wings is awesome, 50 wings for $25 and 5 choices of sauces, hello! It's more than enough to feed our group of 4 or 5 adults.

The service has been fine on my trips here, the waitresses are attentive but they're not annoying and hovering over you every few minutes. I definitely wish there was a Fowler's in Chicago

We've gone here a few times because our past  friend's invited us to watch a few hockey games on the big screens. They have pretty decent drink prices and they have enough screens to keep ya happy.

What they don't have is good service or great tasting food.  They seem to like to hire the waitresses that are still in high school. I have no issue with that. However, they are slow as the day is long and often you have to go back to the bar yourself to order refills or get napkins, etc.  If I wanted to serve myself, I'd stay home. Blah And the food is never anything to write home about. It reminds me of something you get in the frozen food aisles at Wal-Mart.

To sum up, I'll stay away from here.

I went to Fowlers because I had gotten a gift certificate for Christmas. I'll just save you some time and say if I hadn't had that I probably wouldn't have gone.

The place seemed kind of dirty and just kinda dingy. Waitresses in tank tops are nice for us guys but really its just to distract you from the mediocre food.

I got 20 wings which you can get with 2 sauces (anything less comes with one but you can pay 50 cents for more). I got the smokey BBQ and the garlic parmesan. The smokey BBQ was decent but the garlic wings were just gross. They had no flavor at all and were extremely dry. Service was okay but really nothing special.

If you want wings or bar food drive an extra 5 minutes to pluckers.

So against my better judgment, we decided to get food to go from here again. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich dipped in mild hot wing sauce and a side of cheese fries w/bacon and ordered atomic buffalo wings for my boyfriend.

We went to pick the food and the girl at the bar that grabbed our food from the back had bad customer service. After I had paid for it on my card and signed it, she just stood there staring as if waiting to see if I was going to leave a tip. It's a pick up order, unless you rocked my socks off, I don't tip for pick up orders...as she is not the one who cooked it or did anything to deserve a tip. After I signed it, and I asked if this was my copy of the receipt, she snatched it from me, crossed out the tip section and walked away. She didn't say thanks for coming or anything to show that we were done with the transaction, so I just stood there waiting. Snotty.

Got home and once again, the food was gross. The chicken was dry, the bun hard and flaky, I had to add all my own condiments just to make it taste semi-decent. The cheese fries had this weird taste to them, can't quite put my finger on it, but they were NOT good by any means. The cheese fries had bacon...wait I mean Bacos (gross) as a topper. I didn't even finish them. I'm always disappointed by them, I don't know why we go back. We're definitely going to find a better wings and American food place to go. We won't be coming back here again. Would rather give our business to someone else that deserves it. I also saw that they scored low on the bad food list . No surprise there.

    2.5 stars?

On Tuesday night, the family decided to go take advantage of family night--free kids meal-- at Pluckers. We were disappointed by the sign on the door at Pluckers saying that it was closed due to a holiday party.

So, the closest place to us was RC Fowlers. The place is a skanky version of a sports bar---waitresses in tight tank tops in the middle of winter. The place was dimly lit with 80's music blasting and plenty of TVs and oh, electronic beer pong.

Much to our delight, the wings were 1/2 price and $2 for domestic pints. We ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizers and some wings. The shrimp was not jumbo, but rather butterflied to make them appear large. The shrimp was over fried---dry and flavorless. I guess that is why they put hot wing sauce on top. It was so bad, we couldn't eat it.

The hot wings were OK, but I much prefer the crispness of Plucker's wings. The best thing is that they offer large, fresh pieces of celery sticks. For those you frequent Pluckers, you know how rare celery is.

If I had to pay full price, I don't know that this place would be worth going to when Pluckers is so nearby.

    To sum up my experience...

As I was drying my hands in the restroom, a toilet flushed in one of the stalls and out walked a Fowler's waitress. She smiled and walked out the door. NO hand washing!!!!!

I have been to tons of sports bars in my day and RC's is middle of the pack.. Food, not so good. We ordered shrimp and wings.. the shrimp was breaded and then burned to death.. We couldn't see any signs of life even dipping it into the lemon pepper sauce that came with it..  Wings were OK. Big drummies, so the portions are good; however, the sauces are not.  They seem more like they are added after the wing is done instead of marinating them before. I tried Mango Tango and Buffarita. Mango Tango was very sweet , like it was regurgitated after a bird threw it up.  Buffarita was supposed to taste like a fajita, but it just tasted like normal Buffalo sauce.  Price was not cheap.  $14 bucks for 20 wings and $13 for 20 deceased shrimp..

Atmosphere was good for a sports bar.. At least 15 TV's all around showing 8 or so different sporting events. Nice variety from Premier League Soccer to Nascar.  Place was packed for a Sunday afternoon. If you are in the mood to just hang out with others, drink beer and watch sports.. it is a cool place.  In the back they had organized a Texas Hold'em tourney so there were 30 or so hard-core poker players there..

    Service was fine, no complaints.

Would have gotten 3 stars if the food was any good..

I've had similar experiences - not quite as bad - as Bob R. at Fowler's.  They have some kind of Hooter's ripoff going on... and it's not working so well.  The waitresses are all jailbait, and not very talented. The wings themselves are OK.  They typically are bigger than Plucker's (that's saying something), and they come with more sauce... but not too much.  Their menu looks like someone went to Pluckers, stole a menu, ordered a side of every sauce, and found a way to recreate all of the sauces... right down to the Mother Plucker mugs of beer.

Fowler's isnt terrible if you're willing to put up with extremely crappy service.  The TV's everywhere are nice when the sun isn't throwing glare all over the place.  If you want consistency, go to Pluckers instead.
