This is a family dive, if there ever has been such a thing. A simple, no-frills restaurant and bar located in a prefab corrugated steel building. The record about skipped when me and my city-slicking lady walked in. It is a place of regulars and our status as visitors won us two free rounds and a welcome from Red himself.

The food is good, ol' fashioned, rib-sticking goodness. The beer choices range from from domestic (Milwaukee's Beast, Nattie Light) to domestic premium (Bud Heavy, MGD), all in cans.

Check this place out for the jukebox, pool, a game or a good slice of homegrown 'Merica.

Ever see a grown man dressed as a chicken? No, well then come by Red's Tavern on any given Tuesday during the Pan Fried Chicken Tuesday like I did and see The Chickenman.

So, since it was chicken night, I ordered the chicken. My dinner arrived a few minutes later, despite the fact that the place was packed. Who the hell fills a restaurant on a Tuesday? Red's apparently!

One of the nice things, I can appreciate with pan friend chicken vs your KFC run of the mill friend chicken  is that pan fried the chicken is not overwhelmed by a quarter inch of breading. As in this case, I find that as a result you can really taste the meat.

Next, we move on to the baked beans which are served hot and a rather generous portion as was the mac and cheese. You can tel its home made just by how it's all melty, and all over the place the cheese was--It's tough for me to describe the sides because I was taken back by the chicken.

On a side note, Red's is really service orientated and the managers are on the front line with the wait staff, kitchen staff and customers. And it seems like everyone knew everyone there, customer and staff.

Anycase, it's pretty cheap, comfort food that's pretty decent, so I'm likely to hit the place again.
