Old and boring. service is good depending on the bartender. On some nights when i have been in there it seems like there is a group of the bartenders friends who run the place, this group changes depending on who is bartender. These people play whatever crap they want, are loud, behind the bar, and they don't even work there. No doubt the Rex will always be a place to go because in this small town there is very little competition. I guess that's why they feel they can have poor customer service. The daytime bartenders are much better.
Review Source:Friendly bar, nice staff, atmosphere is good. Not the kind of place for fancy cocktails but just fine for a whiskey on the rocks. Limited backbar - lots of unopened liqueur bottles and other oddities that have probably been there for decades. Unfortunately, if you wanted to have a drink with that dusty unopened bottle of Campari - you'd have to make it simple as they don't have red vermouth! Pretty good selection of your basic  Single Malts. Great prices for those used to city prices. Three call drinks, including a Single Malt and a warmed "Perfect" Grand Marnier & Brandy for $16. Kudos to the bartender for that one!
