I'm going to be nice and give 4 stars due to the circumstances. We, my son and I, just had a meal here. Â It was 7pm when we arrived and there was approx 25 guest already seated and one waitress. We stood in the foyer for 5 minutes waiting for the waitress to give us a signal to seat ourselves or wait. I decide to finally have a seat. I was disappointed that it took our waitress (the only one there) a while to even speak to us as I had to get up and grab our menus. When she finally got around to us she was very pleasant. Ok, the steak was outstanding!! The salad bar was in need of a refill, but it appeared to be a lot of reasonable options. My son wanted French fires, but they do not serve them. She offered potato chips instead. They turned out to be baked (bagged) chips. Needless to say, my son didn't touch them...we eat full fat (as close to nature as possible) products. I know this is long, but I feel like on any other day my experience would have been much better.
Review Source:While in town for business, this place was recommended as a good place for dinner. So, tonight I popped in to grab a bite to eat. The service was excellent and the food was much better than I expected. Â I ordered a tuna steak rare with a baked sweet potato and salad. Â I am always a little dubious about salad bars, but theirs was very fresh and filled with everything you could possibly want to add to your salad. Â I was also a little afraid that my tuna would be overcooked, but it was seared on the outside and nice and rare inside. Â Way to go guys! So, if you find yourself in Mt. Olive and want something a step above the ubiquitous fast food and pizza places, stop in and give these guys a try.
Review Source:This place, and its great staff, rescued my Labor Day! Â I had just finished with three hours of car tire repair (long, long non-steak-related story) that left me tired, hot, depressed. Â I decided that the fast-food places along 117 were just not going to cut it and that I deserved a nice, sit-down meal. So I turned to Yelp for help, and as it usually does, it saved me.
Ribeyes Steakhouse was listed but had no reviews, a travesty I intend to fit here. Â However, it had the word 'Ribeyes' in the name so I was willing to roll the dice ... and came up a winner! Â Located on Center Street, in a quaint section of Mount Olive that people really should see more of, it is off the beaten trail of most tourists zooming up and down 117 but was an oasis of calm, good service, and good food.
The menu is, thankfully, heavy on the ribeye with many cuts of different sizes available that come with choice of potato (baked, baked sweet, or fries), Texas toast (meh), and one of the better salad bars I've been to (included smoked oysters and sardines!). Â All of this was explained to me by my waitress who was prompt, efficient, and attentive without being TOO attentive.
The steak choices, however, were explained to me by the grillmaster who came from the kitchen to lovingly describe the different cuts. Â Together we selected a great 8oz ribeye, medium rare. Â And it was as close to perfect as I could have hoped for. Thick cut and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Â Well marbled without being too fatty (I believe it was trimmed). And tender as all get out. I will grant you that my expectations were low, but this was a great steak in anybody's book.
Anyway, I came in sad and left full and happy. Â And that's the mark of an excellent restaurant. Â Do yourself a favor and travel just a little ways off the highway. Â You'll be glad you did!
