Been coming to Richards Pub for as long as long as I can remember. More often than not when I am driving home from the airport to my house in Newport. Â A quick beer in a stuffy along with some soup and it's great. Â The place is usually packed with the regulars but it's a fun loving bunch of people.
The French Onion Soup is great and has long been a staple of this mainstay of East Greenwich RI.
I am REALLY regretting just getting a burger here because the food was delicious! Our waiter, Camron, kept my coffee full (four times) and was very pleasant and fast. The burger was hard for me to eat because it was so massive! So delicious! Wasn't too loud, didn't feel rushed, good selection of food, friendly atmosphere, excellent staff.
Review Source:I really like Richard's Pub. The place is always hopping, a good sign! Sometimes there is a wait, but never too long.
The staff is super friendly and always willing to accommodate patrons.
The menu offers a lot of options. I have had burgers, sandwiches, salads and entrees from Richard's and all have been great! My boyfriend usually gets the specials and those are wonderful as well.
Richard's is a nice, cozy restaurant, give it a try!
Richard's Pub has been around for a long time, it was a place my grandmother often came with her friends. Â While I feel bad about being the first to review this place, I have to do so to express my disappoint in their service. Â We were there a few weekends ago for an event with about 40 people in the backroom. Â So in other words, our group dropped quite a bit of money on this place. Â A few of us decided to grab a drink at the bar before leaving. Â We had been to a funeral and decided to have a toast in honor of my boyfriend's Pop. Â This background information seems important as to understand why I had such a strong reaction to what happened next. Â We ordered a round of cocktails. Â When the drinks arrived, my boyfriend's father immediately found his martini was poorly made. Â It was a top shelf martini (brace yourself folks, it was $10.50) and it tasted like it had equal parts Vermouth and vodka. Â After everyone confirmed that the martini was not acceptable for the price we paid, he kindly informed the bartender that the martini was not "quite right" and it tasted like it had too much Vermouth in it. Â He asked her if she would mind fixing it. Â I swear, he approached the issue with tact and without criticism. Â However, instead of apologizing and just making him a new drink, our bartender (Wendy, for those who want to know who NOT to order a drink from) immediately become defensive and down right rude. Â She pulled the drink away from him (spilling half the drink on the counter) and proceeded to remake the drink while slamming the bottles around. Â She made such a scene that the enter bar knew about the conflict in the back corner. Â The new "martini" that was delivered to him was made with no love. Â It was straight vodka. Â She continued to spout about how unreasonable he had been and even went as far to say that she made it right and that's the "way Richard's Pub customers like it." Â Given the circumstances (not that I think it requires such for decent customer service), I will never return to Richard's Pub. Â The owners should be ashamed of how one of their employees treated a reasonable customer. Â There are waaaaayyyyy too many options in Rhode Island to put up with such offensive behavior.
