Rio Grande II

Worst of all the Mexican places in this area of West Virginia. Just feels bland and mass-produced and not all that authentic in comparison. Head to Diogi's or Acapulco. Avoid Rio Grande and Chico's.

The Fayetteville location of West Virginia's biggest Mexican restaurant chain. This restaurant served a group of 65, yes sixty friggin' five, with no advance notice whatsoever this past Sunday. They did so with aplomb and not a sign of discontent. Despite the size of our group, which was treated as numerous separate tables, service was quick, largely accurate, and friendly.

The only thing average about the experience was the food. It was nothing spectacular, but not bad either. The salsa was plain and looked to be just straight from the wholesale sized can. My potato burrito was nothing BUT potato wrapped up in a tortilla shell. That surprised me. The enchilada was good, but the chalupa had significantly less guacamole than surrounding chalupas, and the taste of a few bites was a bit off.
