Jerry Knight's River Theater has it ALL! Â Jerry Knight has made The River Theater into the perfect venue for LIVE Music! Thank-you, Jerry. It just keeps getting better and better!!! Regular music nights, sometimes free and always affordable shows, plus lots of talent, local, National, and even International. Yes, The River Theater does have it ALL.
Review Source:Went here for the first time. It. was. off. the. freaking. hook!
First, the decor is fabulous, and they keep adding more stuff. Bubbles, the big elephant, greets you on the street. And that's just the START.
Great big nice venue with a huge dance floor!
Nice customers, and the staff were friendly and made it a party!
And!!! Drum roll please! Ron Thompson and the Resistors? OMG, I almost passed out from happiness hearing Ron tear it up! They tell me they want him back and so do I!
Kudos to Jerry Knight, who has worked so hard to bring a stellar venue to this lazy little river town.
If you have an opportunity to go to the theater don't miss it! You can hardly imagine what it looks like inside until you see it for yourself. Its full of rock memorabilia and weird and wonderful stuff - silver mannequins hanging from the ceiling, space aliens, giant moons. Excellent bar. And Jerry, the owner, is a very very nice guy.
Check it out!
The photos on here are old, old, old! The outside has had a nice paint treatment, and the inside has been entirely remodeled & tricked out with an amazing sound & lights system. Jerry Knight, the charismatic, quirky owner, usually does the sound, acts as a host and plays pool on one of the two pool tables. Â Ask him to tell you about his collection of rock memorabilia & guitars that has been framed & hung safely out of reach. Â The Theater just started pouring David Graham's awesome beers too. (It's brewed up the road a bit at Tavern McHughs). Entertainment varies, but I've noticed mostly rock & bluesgrass so far. Dark Star Orchestra, Poor Man's Whiskey, Dgiin, Thugz, House of Floyd, & Vortex Tribe performed at this venue within the past few months. The bartenders they had for awhile were a bit on the lazy side, but now Jerry has a professional staff that gets the job done. I'm giving it four stars until they get the full liquor license.
Review Source:A good sound system, good lighting and four great acts on New Years Eve made for an enjoyable evening at this venue. Â It will be interesting to me to come back and see the continuing renovation of this theater, which appears to date from the forties.
It does backup to the Russian River and I think that it would be more enjoyable to go to an event in warmer weather, it was very cold on New Years Eve. I do plan to go again and enjoy another concert and spend some time in this pretty River Town
