Rivers' Edge

The first thing I noticed when walking into the River's Edge was it's size, the indoor area is very small (bar is about 10 yards long and the sitting area is a little larger than a family room in an average home).  Though the patio is great, I can only imagine it is useful for 5 months of the year (plan to make it back in the winter).  After first sitting down at the bar, I had to move to one of the tables because the bar overhang is so small that my knees hit the bar....very uncomfortable.  There was only one large flatscreen and about 5 other TVs, sufficient, but could use larger or better.  Overall the place was fairly cluttered/dirty, especially the carpet.

The bartenders & other patrons though were great.  They all seemed to know each other & were friendly / joking.  You can tell an honest bar when everyone leaves their cash or purse at the bar when they go out to smoke.  Overall, pretty laid back place.

Plan to be back again.

This is a nice little bar, with a friendly staff. It is now smoke free and the menu is good, I have had the double cheese burger and the bubba burger and both have tasted great and with a great price, the bubba burger was $5.50 (with tax), fries and drinks are extra. They only have about 5-8 parking spots behind the bar and very hard to turn around if its full, I recommend you park across the street at the old car lot.

This is a great dive bar right on the water.  It's on a channel off the St. Joseph River.  Other than The Boathouse in St. Joseph, this is the only other bar right on the water.

The gem of this place is the outside patio and deck overlooking the water.

In Summer on Wednesday afternoons, they have live music, which is usually Morgan Ingalls playing guitar.  She's awesome and she alone is worth the trip.  Couple that with a outdoor area on the water, cheap drinks and on a sunny day, it's absolutely like being on vacation.
