We asked around in the mercantile, in the paleo museum and on the street and most recommended RJ's over the Big Timber. Â So we went on a Saturday night. Â Half restaurant, half bar. Â We sat in the sparsely decorated restaurant which had a steady stream of patrons. Â I ordered the prime rib (12 oz) and was amazed at the size for under $10. Â My wife ordered the halibut and got razzed for ordering a fish plate in the middle of the freaking Eastern Oregon desert! Â Amazingly, the fish was quite good and the owner told us she had it drop-shipped (whatever that means) weekly. Â One of our friends ordered the shrimp combo and I thought it looked kinda measly compared to the prime ribs and halibut dinners. Â Salad was crisp and fresh. Â Baked potato good. Â No veggies for prime rib dinners, but I suspect it was because there was no room on the plate! Â Not that we frequent Fossil often, but if we do, this is a must do again.
