My husband and I decided to try Roadies as we are new to the area we wanted to see what the local fare was all about. Â I have to say we weren't very impressed. Â We could barely get past the front door without giggling since all the staff were wearing lederhosen for Oktoberfest (I think). Â They sat us out at the patio which was pretty cool actually. Â Lots of space I imagine they get some rip roaring parties out there (a huge fire pit/fireplace too). Â However as we sat and watched clearly no one had a good layout plan of the tables because the servers just kept walking around in circles when plates of food came out asking each table "is this yours?" Â Pretty hysterical.
Our waitress was very nice (until I tried to pay with a groupon that is), and took pretty good care of us. Â Suggested the fried pickles which we took her up on...as I told my husband...when in Rome...they were pretty good but whatever the put on top (seasoned salt maybe) made them wayyyyyy too salty.
For meals my husband got the ribs and mashed potatoes which were pretty good. Â Nothing special, a tad bit dry. Â I got the Asian chicken salad and I should have known better as this is a divey burger kind of place but the salad was pretty horrendous. Â The chicken was blackened (ie burned) and tasteless and disgusting. Â The rest of the salad was pretty much cabbage and not anything super delicious.
We probably won't be back unless we have a real hankering for anything fried (pickles, onions, chicken...etc)
Our meal was a mix of good and bad. While the server was SUPER sweet, especially to the kids in our group, we had to ask for refills on our drinks several times and she seemed inexperienced.
Our table experienced:
* Chicken strips from the kids menu: came with chips and pineapple as sides. The chicken looked to be a single breast cut in three and was pre cooked. Then battered then fried to order. This resulted in dry chicken. I like that it was not frozen pre made, but the end result was dry chicken. You could tell that it had been pre cooked before being fried because the way  it looked when the breading slipped off the meat. It was a real FAIL and made for very dry, hard chicken.
* Several orders of quesadillas ... All were excellent.
* Walkin in Memphis. The brisket was dry and needed more sauce but the Mac n cheese looked and tasted like homemade.
* Fish n Chips it was some of the best I've had In a long time. Perfect breading to fish ratio and you could tell it came to me fresh from the fryer.
*salad had rotten slimy lettuce in it. We sent it back and it was removed from the bill.
Drinks where high priced for example the root beer that the kids drank was $3 a glass.
The management seems on top of things giving the feeling that they want to prefect this place and make sure you have a good time. Came right over about the slimy lettuce.
I did not like the mix of high top tables among lower tables. The table behind us had their butts right next to our heads! Gross and needs to be changed ASAP!
Love all the TVs. The decor is cute and well done in a western theme. Â The pinball games were only 50 cents and Pacman was only 25 cents. Made it nice not to have to say no to the kids playing them with reasonable pricing on them.
I will give them another chance.
The 1st time we ate their they has just opened. The food was under cooked and greasy. Pretty bad and the two of us said never again. Well my husband read a review and talk to a friend stating that it was great. We went today when we walked in the smell almost made me turn around and leave. My husband said give it a chance, so I did. It was gross, nasty, dirty, grungy hated it I will never go back. The health department needs to shut this dump down. Don't ever go there save your self and your stomach.
Review Source:Went here for the first time for a weekday lunch. Â It seems somewhat awkward, but you have to drive around the back of the building to get in. Â The staff were friendly and helpful. The onion rings were very good. Â I didn't care for the homemade chips that came with the meal. Â I had the ham and cheese sandwich on grilled Texas toast. Â It would have been much better if it had been one single thick sliced piece of country ham, but it appeared to be layers of thin sliced deli ham. Â I would not choose that selection again.
Review Source:I went to Roadie's with my sister last night because I'd been out of town for three months and we wanted to try the new place to grab a drink. We did not end up staying long. They have a good beer selection, both on tap and in bottles. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were honestly great...some of the best I've ever had and I love cheese. The service, however, was substandard...when I asked what wheat beers they had on tap, the bartender listed Blue Moon (which I ordered and was fine) and some Belgian variety, which my sister ordered and did not taste like a wheat beer at all. The atmosphere was also not to our liking: it seemed to be trying really hard to be some sort of dive-y place, with the red lighting, but was just annoying to try to see around in. It was pretty dead for around 11 on a Friday night as well. And for whatever reason, my cell reception was terrible in there! It was just not a noteworthy experience, and I doubt I'll come back of my own accord.
