I understand it's a pizza place, and we probably failed for not eating the pizza... But oh well. Â We'll go back someday to try it, but at the time, we just wanted really good drinks and a burger so we stopped in for lunch. Â The burgers weren't that great, especially for $10. Â
Really, I just wanted a bucket of booze.... Which was fantastic.
But since we were starving and stopped in at random for lunch, I also started drinking on an empty stomach... So my boyfriend ordered the Rock Chips for an appetizer so I could cushion the liquor. Â Well, that was a fail. Â Some of the Rock Chips were really good. Â They made me want to put a chipotle seasoning on potato chips at home. Â But half of our basket had these chewy ones that just made me think they weren't cooked right.
I told our waitress and she said it happens because they're hand cut in the kitchen. Â Awesome. Â Doesn't mean you should serve them then, huh? Â So the few Rock Chips that were cooked right were delicious, I guess. Â And again, the burgers were so so. Â They were greasy and seemed pretty cheap in the meat department (not seasoned well or cooked any better than a regular person could do at home).
But if you want a bucket of booze, maybe you can chance the food. Â Or if they're ONLY good at pizza, you MUST order pizza.
This seemed like decent Oregon pizza with the novelty rock theme. Â Someone decided to make Guitar Hero into a pizza chain. Â
Crunchy outside, chewy inside crust. Â Yeah! Â Solid topping quality. Â Good meat pizza. Â I'd eat that again. Â Specialty pizzas are curiously designed as a whole. Â
I think I'm being harsh because one of the specialty pizzas sounded great, but ended up a sweet mess. Like you gonna get beetus eating pizza sweet.  It had  pineapple and then some chili sauce that was syrupy sweet.  Man, if that sauce was spicy rather than extra sweet we might have had a great pizza there.
Apps were just aiiight. Â Â The breading to squid ratio on the calamari was off the charts. Â Some mini calozone thingy was okay, garlic-y and possibly articoke bits in it. Â Not bad. Â
Service was good at the bar. Â Maybe all you one star people should eat at the bar.
On the rock chart, I'd say this place was Aerosmith. Â Non-offensive, but not the soul of the Rolling Stones or as glam as David Bowie. Â Ya feel me?
Also no Bulleit anywhere in Oregon it seems.
I'm very picky about my pizza and I had read the Yelp reviews about this place which made me not want to go here, but it was late and I was hungry and in Gresham and thought I would give The Rock a try. I'm glad I did! :)
When we arrived, there wasn't a host/hostess there so we weren't sure if we should seat ourselves. After a little over a minute, a girl comes out and shows us to our seats. A few minutes later another girl comes out and asks us if it was our first time her and "gave us a tour" of the menu, talked about their Happy Hour specials, their "backstage pass" (free to sign up and be a part of, and you get additional happy hour benefits, etc.) and got our drink orders from us - she seemed very friendly. It did take a while to get our drinks, but that's fine - probably my biggest complaint, which is not bad. Might've taken.. around 10 minutes? I could be wrong - I wasn't counting. I just know that our appetizers came out before our drinks.
We all ordered personal size pizzas (9 inch) because they were on special for Happy Hour: $2 off. Average 9 incher is about $9.99. We all got vegetarian pizzas; not sure what they're called, but one of them was like a margherita pizza (with fresh tomatoes and basil) but had capers (supposed to come with meat, but I subbed for caramelized onions, yum!); another had mushrooms (tasted like they were soaked in wine or vermouth; very yummy!), garlic cloves, and blue cheese; and the other had bell peppers, olives, and mushrooms.
I was worried that my pizza wouldn't be big enough, but it was definitely filing! We all traded slices of our pizzas and all decided that this place was good. Most likely the best and only good place in Gresham to get good pizza. Also at Happy Hour, you're looking to spend $8-10 on a personal size pizza and most likely be full from it! We also shared a $4 appetizer (chips with spinach artichoke dip - very good and wayyy better than 4th street pub's spinach artichoke dip - bleh).
I'm hoping that I won't run into any problems that some of the other Yelpers wrote about in their reviews (like getting a cold burger, watery pizza, etc.) but my experience was great!
So give The Rock a try. I had a feeling before I went here that it was probably just whoever was working at the time, and I recently saw that The Rock was hiring for others at this location so maybe they booted out the bad servers/cooks and hired some better people? :)
Went for the lunch buffet. Â They opened at 11am and we were there ten after. Â No pizzas out on the buffet line and we had to wait about 15 minutes for them to get there.
Service was decent. Â Pizza was mediocre at best and really had no uniqueness to it in any way. Â The lasagna was good and the Caesar salad was fine.
I would not come back. Â Round table buffet is so much better than this place. Â Their pizza is really just boring.
I don't know how they are still in business with such a blah product.
Not super impressed. Â While the service and wait staff were friendly and prompt, the food left something to be desired. Â The Italian sub would have been 100% better if they had passed it under that Brick Fire oven. Â Instead it arrived cold and uninspiring. Â The cole slaw also had no flavor. Â I may go back to try the pizza. At least that should be hot.
Review Source:I never write reviews or send food back but tonight I did both. let me start by saying that the service was good but food was awful! House salad had little to no veggies and seemed like it just came out of a bag. Pizza was covered in grease and the toppings were not even baked in the pizza, more like thrown on top while the cheese has nothing to stick to due to the greese and ends up falling off in the end. After one thinks it can't get any worse it does...everyone who went to dinner ended up with a sour stomach. So if you want instant diarrhea mixed with vomiting, then this is the place for u!
Review Source:Bad pizza. The place was freezing cold the night we went in. If you like Pizza Hut you might like this place. If you are a fan of REAL pizza though don't even bother. The white pizza sounds awesome but the sauce is bland. The veggies were chopped too large and were still raw. The salad we had was wilted badly. Hardly worth eating. Won't be back.
Review Source:The service was terrible. Our waitress started off with "I am not sure I am your waitress I will go find out"; Ten minutes later she returns to state "I guess I am your waitress". We were treated like the red headed stepchild; had to go up front to ask for a drink request, a pizza box for our leftovers, and our check.
Review Source:Boy!  Reviews on this place are all over the map.  My experience was fantastic.  Met my wife for a work lunch so was in a bit of a hurry.  Had great service with an awesome recommendation for the vegy pizza.  I'm a meat eater but this garlicy, spinach, blue cheese etc. pie  was a little slice of heaven.  My wife asked to sub arugula lettuce for the spinach on hers which they did no problem. We ordered the lunch discounted personal size pizza and had more then enough to eat.  We didn't care for the decor but I think that the place is kind of set up for the younger crowd. I think I'd avoid this place for dinner but I'll definitely go back for lunch. Â
Can't get better pizza then this in east county.
Love this place!
Yes, it's a chain! Â But I'm okay with that!
I have become something of a regular, due to it's proximity to my girlfriend's place. Â Their happy hour is really pretty great, and we often spend hours here after work, enjoying the music, the AMAZING service (I love our regular bartender...she is absolutely fabulous and I always try to tip well).
Their specialty in the bar is their drink menu. Â Lots of sweet cocktails, many served in interesting ways. Â I love the Original Bucket, which is a citrus-y rum drink, while my girl loves their Bucket-rita. Â They come in little plastic sand pails, with shovel, that you can take home if you like. Â I stopped taking them, because I have far too many now. Â Sand castles can only have so many tours before it juts becomes gaudy!
Anyways, their happy hour menu has plenty of appetizers and pizzas with reduced prices. Â I usually went for the Big Bouncy Beaty Meaty, or something like that...lots and lots of meat. Â But then I tried the White Christmas, which is a white pizza, and I fell in love with it. Â I now get that every time I go. Â A white sauce, with mozzarella and ricotta cheese, it's the closest to the white pizza I loved so much when I lived in NYC that I've found on the west coast.
I also love their cheese bread appetizers. Â We'll alternate between two: The mozzarella cheese bread, and the brown sugar mozzarella cheese bread. Â Who would have thought that brown sugar on garlic cheese bread would be so wonderful, but it absolutely is. Â Absolutely. Â Yep.
Writing this makes me want to be there now.
I want one of these in Salem. Â They are rapidly expanding, apparently, so I can hold out hope.
Oh, and if you're a dude, check out the bathrooms. Â Crazy faces in the urinals are just begging to be, ahem, used. Â I laughed my ass off the first time I saw this unique form of art.
GO THERE!
I must say, I have never been served a COLD hamburger! I mean cold! Bun, meat everything! We showed up in the fire engine for the lunch buffet but it isn't on weekends so they decide to order off the menu...bad choice! First this place is very expensive and the portions are small, this hamburger was supposed to be a 1/2 pound, if it was I am 10 feet tall! The plate had about 15 French fries on it too...
Would I ever go back you ask? I had pizza once and it was alright, we had dessert and drinks once in the bar and it was ok. I would go for drinks but this isn't a place I would ever recommend.
I have been here a few times. Maybe it is just this location. I went with my family for lunch one day. It wasn't particularly busy on a Sunday at 3. We waited nearly 2 hours for our food. It was absolutely ridiculous. To top it off, the food that we ordered (I got an over priced calzone) was sub-standard to what other restaurants will serve for the price. It seems like much of your dollar goes towards cheesy ambiance and slow staff. Anyways it might have been an isolated incident, but that was my experience. I'll never go there for lunch again.
Review Source:Expensive for what you get. There I said it. Now if you want to read further, let's move on. This place is fairly new here my side of town. I have driven past the Vancouver WA location many times on my way to and from work and have always wanted to stop by. However it did not make sense since the only reason I commuted over that way was to go to work, and that was bad enough. So when they announced the opening of this location I was excited. I stopped in on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. The interior decor is really quite cool. It's a bit dark inside, almost like an hollowed out building that was gutted by a fire. Nice touch. I want to mention that they men's bathroom has to most hilarious urinal I have ever seen. I have posted/shared a picture of them. I have never seen something quite like that and it made me giggle like a little girl.
Okay back on track. I ordered a burger since I was not feeling pizza. The burger came out hot and fresh and my frist bite was really tasty. Whatever seasoning they placed on that patty was perfection. It came with a a side of fries that were standard fare. I addition I ordered a drink (that name escapes me) but it came in a children's beach pail and had much more ice than I cared for. From what I understood I was supposedly ordering a drink that should have been best suited for 2 but I would disagree. It was yummy, I will give em that but it was gone before I knew it.
So touching base on my first sentence in the review, the place is a bit overpriced. My bill topped 27 bucks with tip and honestly, not my ideal price to spend on a burger and drink. BUT, I did enjoy it and I left wanting to come back. And that's what matters. Nothing worse than leaving a place and wanting to turn around, give it the finger and never want to return. I shall be back.
Solid pizza, some of the best I've had in awhile. Â Pricing is expensive like others have mentioned. Â Expect $15 for a 12 inch pizza. Â They also have several house microbrews, which are fairly good. Â Some TVs are available, and they will gladly change the channel to whatever sporting event you want to watch.
The main downsides were:
- It took forever to get our pizzas, close to 45 minutes.
- The waitress was fairly annoying. Â It was so bad that we almost had to tell her to leave us alone (I've never been close to doing that before).
Also worth noting is how disturbing the urinals in the bathroom are. Â There's a big picture of an odd looking man inside the urinal, so you're basically aiming right at his face. Â Very odd...
I'd come back.
Well i have read the reviews on here for a while now, and thought i would give this place a try anyway.
We get there on fathers day 2012 and we walk in the doors, at 6:30pm and were greeted right away, i told them there is 5 in are party. Host's said it would be a min as they needed to clear some tables as the place was packed.
I asked the Host's at the front, can we sit in the balcony up stairs? She said no that was closed. (Seemed odd as again the place was packed and we had to wait for a table, and that it was only 6:30pm and they are open till like 10pm) anyway she takes us to our seat, and gives us 4 menu's (again there is 5 in are party). The waitress comes over with 4 little plates and 4 silverware settings, (hello ?? Can you count to 5)
we order our drinks and a chip plate, oh and ask for another plate. :) we get our drinks and chips and then ordered our pizza, 1/2 crazy train, 1/2 California dream and then we wait, wait and wait, 45 min later she said it will be right out. 10min more (50min total) she brings out the pizza and crust was way too dark and some burnt and it was in an odd shape. She said yes I'm so sorry, i know it's a little well done, and a little funny shaped, they have another one coming out soon for you, but if you would like to eat this mean while.
We said sure, by that time we were starving. It wasn't bad if you cut and pull off the dark over cooked crust on the top and bottom. Anyway the other pizza comes out. (only took 20 min for the other pizza to come out, compared to almost an hour)  That one look awesome alot better then the first one for sure.
The 2nd pizza was really good, didn't eat all, and took the rest home. We loved the look inside. It was cool. Pizza good as long as not burnt, and not funny shaped.
But besides the long wait for the pizza and the fact that the girls can't count to 5, it's not too bad of place. They is still need for alot of improvement. Â
Oh almost forgot, the bathroom urinal's in the men's room was cool looking but just a little disturbing as they have a face painted in them. It wouldn't have been so disturbing but they had there mouth's open and snot running out of there nose..
So to sum things up, we won't be back to this one, we may try another one around the area or in washington (if we have the time to sit around and wait to eat), but there are better places to go!
Their pizza is legit. Â I love the flavor having a wood-fired a pizza vs. the conventional ovens that just melt the cheese and heat the dough. Â The crispiness of the pizza bottom was like a butter cracker and supported the toppings well enough. Â
They brought out some pizza dough to entertain my son until the bread sticks came out... you guessed it, wood-fired as well. Â I've been a couple of times and my rating would range from a 3-star to a 5-star experience, thus the averaged 4-star rating.
We so looked forward to The Rock opening near our home.  We braved the crowds for the lunch buffett that was so so.. The pastas tasted like Red Baron Pasta  in the frozen food aisle.  But we really wanted the pizza, we had enjoyed eating at the Vancouver location.  Last night we ordered the California Dreamin Pizza, the medium size to split with my wife.  She ordered the Rock Island drink, top shelf along with a top shelf price.  I had the sledgehammer, 22 oz.  The beer was great, the Rock Island was like a kool aid drink, where was the top shelf alcohol?? The pizza came, looked like a frozen California Kitchen Pizza with less toppings and less cheese.  Very disappointed.  Also, in the Bar the flat screens are 32" and mostly blocked by low hanging industrial lighting.  Asked if they had Comcast as the Blazer game was on.  Bartender didn't know, but would check.  I don't know if she checked because it never came on.  We went home and watched the game.  Across the parking lot is Buffalo Wild Wings with mega flat screens and projector tv's.  The drinks are the same price and the food a little better.
Review Source:went for lunch.server was fast and almost nice.food was bad.greasy limp pizza and only 2 kinds for most of the time we were there.very skimpy on the toppings.worst pepperoni pizza ever.the other pizza was chicken with bacon?only had 2 pieces of chicken and 1 bacon strip.can't over state how greasy it was wich caused the thin crust to be soggy and limp.also i;ve never been to a lunch "buffet" without a salad bar.here you get one that they make for you.the had 7 items total on the "buffet"hmmm."i think that word does not mean what you think it means."
Review Source:Went there for lunch during the weekend. Great building, BAD pizza. Asked the waitress to recommend a chicken pizza. The chicken was tiny, and and not more than 2 pieces per slice. Basically a big pizza with the most minimal of toppings. Giuseppe's and Wall Street offer far better pizza in Gresham.
Review Source:My bucket of margarita (yes, I said bucket, as in childs, complete with a shovel) was decent, 50% of the bucket was filled with ice. Considering I was paying $10 for a drink, I would have expected more booze in my bucket. Â The popcorn shrimp, onion rings, and the garlic bread were pretty darn decent. Â
The whole industrial vibe was kinda weird, but the music was great, I just dont see where the buckets fit in. Â Our waitress was amazingly sweet and brought us a butt ton of sauces for all of our appetizers. Â
I will more than likely come back again, if just for my bucket.
My experience was pretty good, decent drinks, ok pizza.
Maybe I'm a bit jaded, but it seemed to be pushing its theme a little too far. Busted bricks, industrial, ok fine... music, great, people's faces in the black urinals that you pee on... um, losing me here... and then serving up buckets of booze with a toy shovel... lost me. TV being on NBC's The Rock with Brian Williams - ok, that was just silly.
I was told the last part was pure coincidence though.
It was an interesting place, I'd go again but nothing about the place actually wowed me except the service. My experience was definitely better than an average chain, but not by a whole lot. Sort of like the Applebees of wood-fired restaurants where you piss on people's faces in the urinals.
The theme for this place looks like Iron Man broke through their walls as they have pretend broken brick around the place at the entrances in to the different rooms. Â They also play Black Sabbath and other baby boomer lullabies. The decor has blow up pics of old 60s/70s/80s record covers from the past hanging throughout. The theme is kinda quaint. Â It's a chain restaurant so you basically just have to rock and roll with it.
The waitress we had was awesome. She explained the happy hour, the menu, the drinks. Very helpful.
We ordered a couple of 9" "personal pizzas" and dinner salads. Got a couple of their "themed" margarita drinks. Â Frankly, the pizza was pretty pedestrian. I had thought that maybe the whole "fired pizza" in the name might have added something to it all. You couldn't tell. Not much flavor and was pretty greasy. The "signature" cocktails, did not taste any different from any other typical margarita. Â
And this is a reminder of why I don't frequent chain restaurants.
Bottom line, the waitress is too good for this place.
This was hard hitting the 3 to 4 star several times before actually committing to that 4. I had to take a poll in the house to help with my commitment issues. When Rock first came to Wood Village my son was really trying to get me in here, then I read yelp reviews and I was the dream squasher. No, I did not want to wait a half a day for a pizza, as other reviewers said they had done.
However, upon reading more recent reviews there was mention of a buffet, holy kittens here we go. How could they mess that up? We went in and they greeted and seated us right away. For $8.95 you get the choice of a decent sized house salad or Ceasar salad. The buffet includes, soup of the day, (husband said it is really good) fresh fruit salad, lasagna, pasta salad, cheesy pasta salad and about 10 different pizza and a Stromboli to choose from.
They kept our drinks refilled and cleared the plates. The reviews about them being slow are probably really true as far as getting food out not on the buffet. When we first sat down we ordered wings, they took 40 minutes to come out. The waitress kept telling us she was checking on them. They were sweet chili, not spicy, but pretty good. They are cooked in a cast iron skillet they bring to table. As a note, we have been back since that first time, and tried the hot wings, those took 30 minutes to come out and they were a solid one star wing, oven cooked, no heat on them, sort of a slimy skinny falling off kind of deal. We boxed most of them.
The second time we ordered a cookie dessert to split, it came in the same kind of skillet as the wings and had two scoops of ice cream, hello sugar rush. It wasn't as sickening sweet as I thought it would be, but it took over 25 minutes for that to come out. I wouldn't come in here any other time of day. By 12:30, all the times I have been here, they have people starting  to wait for tables they are so busy and the buffet gets wiped out quick, they don't seem to be able to keep up with that part either.
If you like a really thin crust pizza, this is pretty good. I wanted to go 3 star because a couple of the pizzas have had a very soggy type crust and others have been cooked perfect with good coloring. However, since I was cool enough to ask everyone's opinion that went with me, they say, it was a solid 4...
Also, if you do find you are going in here more than you care to admit, sign up for the free Backstage pass, we earned a free buffet after just four trips there.
I do love the Gothic decor, who doesn't love being greeted by gargoyles at the door?
Now that I've been here twice, I feel more confidant about writing a review for my experiences.
Precursor- the music here has been turned down upon the second visit, so maybe they get it? Loud music doesn't make it a great atmosphere to talk and have fun.
First time here we had the pizza and it was just ok. It was a little light on toppings and for the size, the price was steep. The drinks though, were a bargain. Lava Flow, Bucket of Fun and Mojitos are all winners here. I even spilled my drink after my first sip and the waitress brought me a fresh one in a few minutes. The waitress was great, enthusiastic and fun to joke around with.
Second time I went for happy hour and had the $2 off mojito since they were so good the first time. Certain wines and beers are only $3. Â I'm wondering if the drinks are more watered down during happy hour, because my drink wasn't nearly as strong as regular dinner service time. We ordered the BBQ wings and they were really really good. Sweet but not overly so. Not gloppy sauced wings, as the waitress promised, but brought out coated nicely in an iron skillet so the longer they sat there, the more the sauce got sticky on the bottoms of the wings. YUM! And the portion of wings was super huge. We shared one order between us, there had to have been 16 of them.
I'll be back to try different menu items now, and I'm happy to see that the wait staff is well trained  and all really friendly.
so I decided to check out this place on a recommendation from a friend. you walk in and it has the music blaring, staff was friendly enough. they were helpful.
we decided on the pizza. it was pretty good, decent crust. it didn't wow me like my favorite pizza joints.
The pizza was a little small for the price.
We also had the Caesar salad, a little too much dressing but the roll that came with it was very good.
they said there was a buffet option during the day so i may go check that out some time. I like to experience places a couple of times if i am on the fence
Okay, so I'm not usually a huge fan of chain restaurants and I almost never write reviews for them. However, this is a northwest treat so I'll make an exception! I had lunch here with my family and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, food does take a little while here but it's a woodfired pizza joint! That kinda flavor takes some time! It's work the wait! We enjoyed the Thai Chicken Salad (full of flavor, lots of moist chicken and just the right amount of dressing), the Chicken and Prosciutto Calzone (not to heavy but yummy), and the BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza. My mom is still raving about the pizza which was covered in BBQ sauce, tender pulled pork, pineapple, and bell peppers! Loved it!
The service was friendly but not overbearing. food was really good and not over priced and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a chain restaurant that proudly flaunts it's love of The Beatles and Queen at the same time!
Today, my wife and I went to The Rock for lunch. Â She had driven by this place several times and suggested that perhaps we give it a try.
This was our first visit and I have to say, from the moment we stepped in to the time we left, we had EXCELLENT service. Â I was sorry to see that previous poster had a bad experience with their server. Â Our server read aloud the menu to us and made some suggestions. Â
My wife ordered the Bourbon Chicken Wrap with Onion Rings, I ordered the Cheeseburger Wrap with Fries and for an appetizer, we ordered the Garlic Moss Bread.
Everything was served in a timely manner. Â We found everything to be delicious. Â We will definitely return and next time, we're going to try the pizza. Â May even attempt to go there during their Lunch Buffet, to try and sample the different variations they offer.
Like with any new establishment, I'm sure there were some kinks to be worked out and I believe they've done it. Â We were completely satisfied with the service, the ambiance, the quality of our food. Â We WILL go back again.
Maddi, Maddi, Maddi!! What a fantastic server! We came in for dinner despite the negative reviews. Like the other reviewers the food did take a while to come to our table but oh boy....it was worth the wait!! We got the garlic bread and split the chicken calzone then finished off the meal with a cookie dough. It was all so delish!! Our cups were never empty and our bellies are full. All in all it was a fun place with amazing food :)
PS YOU MUST HAVE THE COOKIE!!!
So far. Average. The service was SO, SO, OH-SO SLOW. 2.5 hours for a "quick" dinner. Goodness. Arrived around 7pm this last Sunday. It was crowded. It's not a huge space. Told 15 min. wait. No biggie. Actually got seated in about 10 min.
Next, once seated the waitress came rather fast to get a drink order. Water & beer sampler. Water came....beer sampler came about 10 min. later. That's crappy. It was also not super cold beer as if it had been sitting out a few min.
Took another 15 min for the waitress to come back and take order. California Dreamin pizza and a BBQ chicken salad to share. Food overall got devoured. It was quite good I must say. However....it took 30 min. to get served the pizza....they forgot our salad. The waitress mentioned they were having issues in the kitchen? She didn't even know our pizza had been sitting out for a few. LAME. Another 20 min. passed and 2 pizza slices down our salad came. Thank goodness it was crazy good....or maybe it was the beer talking....I don't care it got eaten rather quickly.
By this time it was around 9pm. 2 hours had passed. Anytime I go to a sit down restaurant I don't expect to be there for over an hour if it's a small party. This was just gettin' nuts. Our plates were taken away....never got asked for drink refills once even with glasses empty. Then our waitress mysteriously vanished. 20 min went by....pizza never got boxed up. I went to the front hostess and asked if I could pay since I had been waiting 20+ min to do so. Ticket was printed and away I went.
I know this place has just recently opened, but for as crowded as it was they need to step up their game. There were plenty of people on staff but certainly under-trained high schoolers/early college types looking for summer work. No problem with that, I just want decent service that doesn't take forever and things not to be forgotten. The people behind me got comped food because of all the issues they had experienced. Really sad. I would try again - 2 stars just for the food taste and neat atmosphere.
Try the bucket, beer sampler, or lava lamp "giant" drinks....this may help as time passes by slowly while waiting for food. The service is horrid. If you decide to go....might I suggest happy hour during the week or a lunch time/early dinner....maybe it would be better? Who knows. Simply disappointed.
I had the misfortune of experiencing the newly opened Wood Village OR "Rock" for 'dinner' this evening. We arrived at 7:40pm; and were told a 45 minute wait was ahead; but it was Friday; the store is new this week; we were understanding and willing to wait. We were seated around 8:25; greeted by the server who explained the menu; and promptly ordered drinks for 4; an order of cinnamon bread sticks [appetizer] and a Ceasar Chicken Wrap.
4 drinks; 2 items.
And then we waited. Drinks showed up about 10 minutes later.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
About 30 minutes later the server finally came back to see if 'everything' was okay. We responded with 'where is our food?'. To which we got a "Your Pizza should be out shortly". We corrected that we hadn't ordered a pizza; but an appetizer and a wrap. "Oh yes; they'll be out shortly" was the response.
And waited.
And waited.
Another 15 minutes passed; no server; no return.
I had to STOP her on a pass by the table to tell her we had to leave; and the wait was "ridiculous" as we'd ordered 2 items. " I agree. Let me go check" was her response.
And waited.
And waited.
Until 9:35 pm---
And finally walked out. I dropped a 10 on the table to cover the drinks---though only because my wife insisted.
I'm happy cutting a little slack on a busy grand opening weekend--but this service was completely inexcusable.
As you can imagine--we won't be returning.
