Came here with some coworkers after work and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the bartender and the server.
-Place is pretty small and dim, more towards classy ambiance
-Ordered the Escargot for Appetizer: Came on top of  fried mushrooms. Was very juicy and flavor was perfect together
-Local beer on draught only - Cheap $4.25 for a pint.
-Wine avg $7 a glass
-Main dish: Flounder special - was great but wouldn't get again. It was a bit too creamy for me and to be honest, I don't remember what was on it as it was THAT dark in the place to tell what you were eating. The dim lighting is definitely great for drinking... not so much for knowing what you are eating.
Overall, was pretty satisfied with the service and food selection. About $19 average an entree. Come if you want a dim, clean, small setting with average beer selection and quality food.
There was a team from my company in town meeting with a customer and we were looking for a place to grab dinner. One of our team members asked the lady at the front desk of the hotel and she said for us to try Rockys because the food was pretty good. Wow is all I can say because we were all very impressed with the quality of their food and it tasted great. All four of us stated that they should be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network because they are that good!! If I am ever back in Mansfield again I will be going back for lunch and dinner.
Review Source:Once your eyes get accustomed to the vampire light settings you will enjoy your meal here. The oil and seasonings at the table could use a little garlic or something to give it more flavor it is rather bland but the breads served are moist and fresh and very delicious.
The house salad with blue cheese and raspberry vinaigrette is good but missing something and I believe that might be shallots in the dressing which would add some depth of flavor it lacked.
The mushroom pasta was amazing complex with just enough cream to make it taste rich but not too much to overwhelm. It had four or five kinds of mushrooms and was very satisfying.
A NY strip was good but not great - a bit overcooked and not that tender for the price.
The fried artichoke heart appetizer was fine but nothing special but the Thai spiced mussels were great - they need to serve more dishes like that.
I have relied on the faithful Yelp users to help guide me to the best places for years... but never felt the need to join myself. Until I went to Rocky's Pub. Â This is the best restaurant in the world for many resons:
-Service: We were coming in from out of town, and called ahead to ensure they would be open. Â They were planning on closing early because they were not busy, but owner Rick said - 'come on in, we'll feed you.' Â What followed was nothing short of extraordinary. Â Rick, his wife Sally (the executive chef,) and server Megan basically hung out with us for two hours while we had the meal of our lives.
-The food: The food here would stand up anywhere in creativity, presentation, freshness, quality and flavor. Â And I mean ANYWHERE. Â Everything is done in house, from the infusing of the beets for the beet salad, to honey-roasting the hazelnuts for the same. Â The steaks are dry-aged in house, and everything is fresh, organic, farm raised, etc. Â
- Menu: Â We started with the aforementioned beet salad and arugula salad, and both were phenomenal. Â Well balanced flavors, savory, unique. Â For appetizers we got the Mussels in Pesto and Oysters Rockefeller. Â Again, both were out of this world. Â For a main course, we got the Bass (which was a special, ) and the NY strip. Â The fish was out of this world, and the aging of the beef was the best I've tasted. Â Most places say they have aged beef, but it doesn't taste that way... The flavor imparted on this steak was unmistakable.
- Location: Â While Mansfield is a sleepy little town, this place is situated on a nice square downtown. Â Don't expect much from the exterior, it doesn't even look like you'd want to go inside. Â But once you do, it's warm and inviting - if not a bit kitchy - but that's part of the charm for me.
Bottom line, if you like food and are anywhere near Mansfield Ohio... make SURE you stop by Rocky's, you will not be disappointed. See you there, I can't wait to go back!
