Romano's Italian Ristorante

This place should be avoided at all costs!  The lakeside location is as beautiful as he food quality and service is rotten!  I avoid this place but couldn't deny an invitation to dine there, so had too.
The wait staff are horrible and must survive off of some customers feeling sorry for them.  They are slow and seem to pride themselves in trying to tell you (the customer!) how it's going to be.  Excuse me......can I please give y my $100 and get out of here immediately.....or will that be a problem?
This place is supposed to be Italian.  DON'T order the pasta!  4 at our table ordered 3 different pastas and all were horribly overlooked and not edible.  One entree had chicken that had zero seasoning and another had clams that were obviously frozen or canne and totally flavorless.
If this place were anywhere other than on the lake, it would have gone away like most Mccall restaurants, long ago.

Five star view, two star ambience and food.  Clam strips (usually a favorite) were coated with a grainy cornmeal/flour breading, and not adequately fried.  Chicken and veal marsala were both served with very pedestrian sauce (more salt than marsala), and ordinary spaghetti.  Terrific view from the deck, but plastic chairs and tables?  Time to invest in decent furniture and a NEW CHEF.

Very lackadaisical attitude. Wait staff act like they wish they were someplace else. "I don"t really like this job but I need the money". Restaurant is kind of "rundown" and not well maintained, very dirty carpet.
Food very pedestrian, average quality. Great location on the lake however!
