I think maybe the best place in Santa Fe to sit in the afternoon, get a little sun, and have some appetizers and beer. (next best place to sit - Bell Tower Bar at La Fonda for sunsets, but get there early to get a seat)
Tip: go with the bucket of Corinitas. Looks cool, and the ice in the bucket keeps the bottles cold so even if you drink slowly at all future possible moments your beer will still likely be cold.
Tip: bring your sunglasses and some sun block (and/or a hat) and then sit at one of the stools on the side to watch people walk around.
I mistook this bar for a restaurant and so my husband and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Great energy, the place had a lively crowd. But the seating was uncomfortable and the place was just too crowded to sit and enjoy a meal. And you didn't even have a view. I think I would have been happier to just order a drink and hang out at the bartop along the wall and do some people watching and then go somewhere else for dinner. The food wasn't that great. It is mostly bar food on the menu... tacos and burgers. And I didn't think our tacos were very good. We both LOVED the chips and salsa, though. And they had a lot of fun specialty cocktails and some good Mexican beer on tap. Servers were friendly but not very attentive... but again that was because it was so crowded.
I would come back for happy hour or late night drinks with friends but not dinner.
