A bunch of us state workers went to Rookie's because we got an email saying they were hosting, every Friday, a state employees' patio party from 7 til 2, and we could name our own drink specials. It said the dept. with the most employees there would win a free Rookie's party. Â
Apparently, we got Rooked.
Rookies had no clue what we were talking about. Â Well, the food was decent. They had Bud Light Platinum, which I appreciated. Service was friendly. However, nobody seemed to know who was in charge. Every time we asked a question, we'd get You've got to talk to "x." Every person had a different answer. Nobody knew what the drink special of the hour was. Some shots were filled to the brim and some were only 3/4 full. Very inconsistent.
It's a typical sports bar. The TVs had very good pictures.
We went to Rookies to watch the World Cup final and ended up with some pretty good food and decent beer.
There was an order of cheese bread, jalapeno poppers, chicken ranch wrap, and chicken nachos. Â All turned out to be pretty good. Â To top it off there was plenty of delicious ranch to go around!
The beer was affordable, everyone got a couple of Oberons and tried the Bud Light Wheat. Â Oberon is always consistent and the Bud Light Wheat was surprisingly tasty for a light beer produced by Budweiser.
After our experience here I might just come back to try the pizza!
