Located on a hilltop with a killer view of the ocean, this place never ceases to impress me. It's a small restaurant, and the decor doesn't really match the menu, but the food is worth the trip.

From the outside, Roseanna's appears to be no more than a run-of-the-mill beach shack coffee shop. Inside, it could be confused with a 90's comfortable country style living room mashed with a late 70's diner. The fine dining table settings, by contrast, were a bit of a surprise upon my first visit. I expected the menu to entail the typical burgers and fried food you would expect from the ambiance, but was pleasantly surprised to find a far more sophisticated menu.

The service was prompt, and courteous. The food was hot and ready very quickly. I could go on for days about the food. I would not be surprised to find that all of their entrees are made from scratch. I have tried the seafood at several nearby restaurants, and Roseanna's is better by far. The fish was cooked to perfection and paired with a thoughtful selection of complimentary flavors. On subsequent visits, I have tried other selections, and have never left disappointed.

Dinner will leave you plenty satisfied, but you must, MUST, save room for desert, or at least take it to go. I highly recommend the Marionberry Cobbler or the Chocolate Carmel Crunch Cake. Calories be damned, you owe it to your tastebuds!

For what it lacks in fine-dining polish (and perhaps a more sophisticated wine menu) Roseanna's makes up for in charm, warmth and amazing food. If you are planning a trip to the coast, this is a stop worth making.

Sunday lunch.. It was just a wonderful experience.  Just happened  on it.. Funcky ordinary weathered wooden exterior,  but so worthwhile inside. Watched  sea lions on rocks and three  whales breaching a ways out.  Good  meal.. Great dessert.. Marion berry cobbler.. Wow.

Roseanna's was recommended by our motel manager so we planned our anniversary day activities so we could be back in Oceanside for dinner.  We got there rather early, at 4:30, but since we had skipped lunch we went right in.  It's a good thing we did because two of the four ocean view window tables were already occupied.  I ordered the stuffed petrale sole and it was delicious.  It came with fresh vegetables and red potatoes and they were properly cooked and very good.  My wife ordered a salmon dinner with the same sides and it was all very good.  Service was friendly and attentive.  For a small rather dumpy looking exterior, the dining room was quaint and attractive.  If you are on the Three Capes scenic route, this makes a great stop along the way.

Service was a bit slow along with the cost being a bit pricey. However, the food was delicious and the marionberry cobbler is something I would very much recommend if you're in the area.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch on a quiet Sunday in January, not crowded, amazing views, good chowder and amazing sandwiches. This place is cute, charming and well worth a visit.

We stopped in for dessert upon a neighbors recommendation when we told him we were going to the coast. They had really good desserts and were very friendly : )

We passed by this place yesterday and decided to give it a try.  The food was amazing and I love the ocean view and just everything inside.  I would recommend the shrimp melt as this is what I will be ordering again next time!

Based on the recommendations from Yelp and in the guest book at the house we were renting in Netarts, my boyfriend and I went to Roseanna's for dinner on my birthday weekend.

Everything was AMAZING!!!  I had one of the specials - ling cod stuffed with smoked salmon, herbs, cream cheese, and more, and crusted with hazelnuts.  It's probably the most delicious fish dish that I've ever had in my life.  The sides with it were also perfect -- Jasmine rice and roasted squash.

My boyfriend had the clam chowder (GREAT - seemed to have saffron) and the paella.  He enjoyed the paella, but be warned -- it is spicy.

The wine list is good and we had a nice bottle of Eyrie pinot noir.  Desserts, well, there was just no room left for those, but they sure sounded good!

Can't wait to go back to Roseanna's sometime soon!

Have been here several times over the years most recently earlier this month. It has a down-home ambience with better than average food at decent prices. True the service is slow and it's not gourmet food but this is Oceanside and who's in a hurry? If you want upscale gourmet with servers at your beck and call go to Cannon Beach or the Pearl. You could do a lot worse in a small village like Oceanside!

We certainly enjoyed our dinner at Roseanna's.  The view is amazing.  The Food is very good and different from what you may expect in a small seaside town.  My favorite appetizer was the steamers in a spicy broth.  I could have eaten three orders of those, but didn't.  I tried the poached oysters and they were interesting.  The Fried Oysters were out of this world!!!!  Dessert was a treat as well.  This was the worth the trip from Portland for dinner.

Excellent food and good service! The pasta is fresh and the sauce is homemade. My wife had the sturgeon and it was delicious as well. If it is still offered, try the Marionberry cheesecake with chocolate ganache...yum!!!

1st, the negative, bacon on our veggies when we were so specific about our desire for no meat.  BUT, as I always say, it isnt that a place has an issue, its how they handle it when it comes up.  Our waitress was SO apologetic and knew exactly what to do.  She took our plates away and replaced all items that touched the bacon... Without asking.

Now, the food: awesome!!  We had the vegetarian penne with gorgonzola... Divine.  We also had the parmesan crusted salmon which was pretty good, with a salad with homemade blue cheese dressing (some of the best i've ever had). The rice and green beans were nothing special (the ones without the bacon, that is).

As for the ambiance, it is the beach, so it isn't formal.  For me, ambiance is all about who you are and who you're with.  It was wonderful and the view was very nice.

By accident on Saturday I ended up driving by Roseanna's and we decided to stop in. I just loved the place. Super funky and old fashioned with chintz curtains, an ocean view, in a very old house. It was pure Americana. We thought the menu looked wonderful, although it was more expensive than I would have expected. I think the reason is that they make everything themselves with really good ingredients including a lot of locally sourced. We had had a really big late lunch and needed to drive back to Portland, and it was very hot. We ended up just getting dessert. I am still thinking about these incredible desserts! I had the marionberry cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The berries were warm, the cobbler biscuit was divine and the vanilla ice cream was just a nice human sized little scoop. My friend got the crumble with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and marionberries with a topping of homemade granola. We has coffee with this and the coffee was excellent. I lived in France and Switzerland for a huge portion of my life and I am a great cook and a gourmet. I was so impressed with this place.
A friend from my Paris days is visiting from Crete, where he now lives, and I am taking him there for sure.
It is so rare in these days to find such authentic American cuisine in the pioneer idiom, like the food I grew up on in the mid-west where the women cooked unbelievably well and lavishly, all the ingredients were fresh and everything was homemade. Later living in France and Switzerland I saw the roots of that style of cuisine. And I found it Saturday in this funky little place with the panoramic view of the Pacific.
I would add that the staff was very nice and they employed "women of a certain age" and they were classy and kind. The chef smiled out of the kitchen as I came up to be seated. The place was quiet and civilized, the people eating there were nice and friendly and smiled at other tables and made eye contact. It was not trendy, but rather authentic and real. I could not recommend it more highly to those who understand the words I am writing. If you don't get this review, please go to a big corporately owned  chain restaurant somewhere else.

Shockingly bad.  Dinner for 4 last Sunday night and 3 out of 4 of the entrees (I tasted them all) were total misses.  The crab cakes were dreadful -- actually bitter and mostly not crab.  We passed on dessert and headed for Cape Meares for sunset.

The service was excellent. Our servers were both very friendly and helpful. At one point we were given binoculars to watch the whales swimming near the coast without having to even ask.

The decor is pretty cute, very homey and cozy (there is a parrot theme going on) and the view is amazing. The view makes this restaurant special.

The food was alright. I ordered one of the lunch specials, the cod. The fish tasted very fresh and was cooked perfectly. The accompanying sauce was a little bland. The chowder was good too, but under seasoned as well. Nothing a few dashes of pepper couldn't solve.

All in all, this place was very cute and the food was tasty. If I'm ever in Oceanside again, I will return.

An average of three stars?  Really?  That certainly did not describe our meal here today.

From the word "go" it was good. Not cheap, but quite good.

We started by sharing a salad.  Out comes this extraordinary and generous salad and even more extraordinary house-made herbal blue cheese dressing.  The baby greens were topped with jicama, pickled onions and pickled cucumber, and a healthy sprinkling of homemade croutons.  So yummy, I almost ordered a second one.

We asked for bread, and out comes a little mini loaf of squaw bread and butter.  Double yum.  A small charge incurred for that extra.

I got an open faced sandwich, a nicely toasted English muffin topped with fresh shrimp and crab (that was dipped in butter, I suspect), topped with good melted cheddar.  It came with a dill aoli.  I passed on the aoli, dill is not my thing, usually. It came with my preference for the soup of the day, chicken curry with rice.  Full of meat and lightly seasoned.  Very creamy. A good choice.  The meal was a success. Glad I had them put the aoli on the side.

Mr. B had the grilled oysters (5 plump, breaded ones).  Nicely done.  It came with a pile of grilled red potatoes. His only complaint, he asked for their clam chowder as his one side.  He is not a fan of dill either, and this one was full of it.  He should have said something, but didn't, and ended up leaving most of it.

He also ordered a glass of the house white wine.  An Airlie Winery (hails from Monmouth, Or), Muller Thurgau wine.  He was so impressed he is now on a quest to find that wine.  Just so you know, we are completely re-arranging our drive back home now, just for this wine.

Dessert.  Well, if you look at the pictures, they have an evil white board devoted almost completely to their homemade temptations.  Already weak knee'd from our earlier hike, I succumed.

We shared a Marion berry cobbler, hot, topped with a freshly baked biscuit and completed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  So good, and not too sweet.  The berries were sweet enough.  And then, Mr. B kept his chocolate crunch mousse cake intact, for an indulgence at a later time. (I sneaked a taste, it was awesome).

The coffee.  We had to have some with dessert.  It was quite nice.  It is a Columbia River Roaster's (Astoria) blend made specially for Roseanna's, but it sure tastes like some good Sumatra to me.  Ok, that goes on your to-buy list, Wendy.  Astoria.  Hmmm. I am afraid I can't rearrange our trip that much.

I liked that the chef put his own touch on his platings.  Little sprays of eatible flowers and leaves (and I do eat them) that might have come from his own garden.  Each plate was different.  It was noticed and appreciated.

Great service.  Beautiful view of the Three Arch Rocks from the dining room picture windows. We were very happy with our meal.

    Oh, closed on Wednesdays.

I love this place! I go there everytime I'm in town. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner they got you covered. The restaurant itself is homey and cozy but it fits. Try to get a table by the windows facing the ocean beause the view is incredible. It was hard to focus the people I was with because the view was so spectacular!

The food here is pretty good, with delicious scrambles for breakfast, tasty sandwiches for lunch, and a great selection of seafood and pastas for dinner. Anything with fish in it is going to be good considering the location. Dessert is killer! Homemade cakes and pies. My favorite is the peanut butter chocolate pie. I can only eat about a half a piece of pie before calling it a day.

I only dine here when I'm in town. I've yet to be disappointed!

My wife and I spent 6 nights @ Oceanside. What a wonderful place to park it! Our last night we decided to eat at Roseanna's. There was about a 30 minute wait which was ok because we were at some of the most beautiful coast I've seen. We were seated and tried to decide from the menu just what to partake in. My wife went for the spicy/garlic chicken pasta. My son went for the cioppino and I had the paella. It was all very fresh and flavorful! The warm fresh bread was warm and fresh! For dessert? Lemon pound cake with marion berry and whipped cream! Fab meal. As soon as I get back to Oceanside I'll def eat there again!

My wife and I stopped by Roseanna's for lunch during a day trip to the coast.  It's has a rustic exterior, parking on the street was rare on a busy Sunday afternoon so we parked at the lot just north and walked in.  The servers were nice sitting us at a window seat with a great view of the ocean and beach, we watched the surfers during our meal.  The lunch menu had a mix of seafood and meat sandwiches that you could get anywhere so we stuck with the specials which were unique.  Oyster stew and macadamia crusted halibut were listed but I choose the smoked salmon quesadillas while my wife got the herb crusted ling cod salad with Oregon berry's, blue cheese chunks and homemade dressing.  Both came with a small bowl of clam chowder.  The salad was great, the berry's fresh and the dressing chosen was a like a ranch with dill and other spices that went will with the combination.  I was told that they smoke their own salmon, the salmon on the quesadillas was great, just the right amount of smoke not overwhelming the flavor of the salmon.  The clam chowder wasn't the best but not the worst.  It just didn't have enough flavor for me, tasted a little bland, but not bad.  Overall - a treat for lunch on a Sunday afternoon.  The bill was a bit steep but when you consider that we both got specials, the view, and the service was quick and friendly - it wasn't all that bad.

I gave it 4 stars - if I'm in the area or showing out of town guests the Oregon coast I would stop by again...

We tried this cafe as a dinner treat with our friends.  The chowder was average (we've had many on the coast).  The scallops were great as was the house salad.  One of our friends had breaded halibut in a ginger-lime sauce with wild rice and steamed veggies--looked and smelled good and she said it tasted good, too.  I tried their chioppino and while it came in a HUGE bowl (more like a tureen!) I found it to be rather bland overall.  The garlic bread was just blah white bread with melted butter and (packaged) garlic caked on the top--um, no, thanks.  The dessert menu was extensive.  We tried the marionberry cobbler and the coconut cake--the cobbler was the winner by far.

Three stars out of five for the parts of the meal that were okay and for being in a location with a fantastic ocean view.

For a lower cost and better meal we'll stick with the Pacific House Restaurant in Tillamook.

A forgettable meal in an unforgettable location.

My family visits Oceanside several times a year, but this was our first meal at Roseanna's. We've walked by many times and since the menu isn't posted in front of the restaurant (or online), you need to walk inside and ask for the daily menu from the server before making your decision. Always a bit awkward, since I usually don't see what I'm looking for and walk out the door.

Our meal was pretty much what I expected based on reviews by friends. If you subtract the nostalgia and the view, then you have a mediocre experience.

I have had some outstanding meals along the Coast at this price point, or less, and Roseanna's just didn't measure up. The building is from the early 1900s and was renovated in the 80s. It feels dated, but not in a good way. The atmosphere is more homey and quirky, rather than upscale, and so is the service. This is a bit of a mismatch since they are striving for cuisine and charging on the higher end, without providing that nicer dining experience.

The highlights of our experience were the chowder served with dark bread and that gorgeous view of Three Arch Rocks. We scored a prime table along the window on a sunny day, so we experienced Roseanna's in its best light. The two lunch entrees from the specials menu were fine, as was the burger, without being distinctive or memorable. My dish, in particular, was just one dimensional and I stopped eating after awhile.

Since they really are (almost) the only game in town, if I did return, I would get the chowder, skip the entree, and sample one of their desserts. I think those elements are its strong suit.

    Their 2011 summer hours are:

    7 days a week
    Breakfast: 9am - 11:30am
    Lunch: 10am - 4pm
    Dinner: 4pm - 9pm
    --No Reservations

I am a fan of the coffeehouse in town, Brewin' in the Wind, which just moved across the street from Roseanna's. They also serve some basic sandwiches and bakery items. But really the best game in town is to enjoy your meal or coffee drink on Oceanside Beach. One of the quietest and loveliest spots on the Coast.

In reading the other reviews here, it's clear that my guy and I might have had better luck if we came for dinner. But we came for brunch, and it wasn't very good.

My guy's biscuits and gravy were passable but bland. My veggie scramble was watery. I wouldn't have minded if the prices were commensurate with boring, pre-fab food, but I expected a better meal for what we paid.

A quick sidenote for anyone who is gluten-free - I didn't see the dinner menu, but you're completely out of luck for lunch! I was lucky to get there when they were still offering breakfast food or I would have gone hungry.

We still come here on our beach trips but mainly due to nostalgia. The food and service have declined over the years and it's just too expensive. Our latest experience netted us some moldy fruit on top of one of the desserts.

Makes me sad to give them 3 stars but it's just the truth.

The town of Oceanside is absolutely gorgeous, and there is good food to be found there at Roseanna's - but only if you choose to eat dinner.

My brother and I dropped in around 3:50p, and were given a lunch menu when what we wanted was dinner. We should have asked for a dinner menu, but I didn't realize how close we were to dinner service. My sandwich wasn't anything special and my brother wasn't excited about his meal either.

I have been to Roseanna's in the past for dinner, and I loved it. If I go back, I would only go there in the evening.

Highly overpriced, but that's what you get in a small town with limited choices. That and the same staff...FOR-E-VER.

The clam chowder is actually decent.
The dessert menu is good, with a lot of choices, some items being much better than others.

The best thing about this place has to be the views.

When the weather is fair and visibility is unlimited, the Oregon Coast is a delight to explore. I'm indebted to my friend, Thomas, for his recommendation of Roseanna's Oceanside Cafe. While visiting Cannon Beach, the scenic drives are irresistible. Tom had "discovered" Roseanna's, and that was the lunchtime objective for three couples who appreciate the coast.
Located about 11-12 miles west of Tillamook on Route 131, off the Three Capes Scenic Loop, the cafe is nicely located. Oceanside (OR) is not a large town; as you enter it, look seaward and you'll probably find Roseanna's without difficulty. As we enjoyed our lunch, surfers and sea kayakers enjoyed the shore. Outdoor temperature was 65-66 deg. F, and sunny. Beautiful day...and a beautiful view.
Roseanna's is open 7 days a week for much of the year, but closes on Wednesdays from December to February, usually the stormiest, bleakest months for weather on the Oregon coast.
We enjoyed our seafood, our chowders, our freshly baked breads, and
Roseanna's Cafe is locally popular but it is not large. With good timing, you can enjoy a table by the large windows, so I'd recommend avoiding the peak lunch/dinner hours. We enjoyed our lunches, and the dessert choices were more extensive than I would expect from a small establishment that is somewhat off the beaten track. I was told the dessert chef was a graduate of the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, which speaks well for that training.
Briefly, Roseanna's Cafe was a lunch experience I'd recommend to others on this forum. If you set an occasional weekend aside to explore the Oregon coast without time constraints or haste, you will enjoy many discoveries, and I think Roseanna's will be one of them.

    "Hot Tub Time Machine"....

Except in the Roseanna's version of that mediocre flick, the main characters weren't 18-year-old college dillweeds back in 1983 or 1984.  Instead, they were probably some thirtysomething middle-management types and their ladies, who kept it straight for the most part but still liked to party down on the weekends back in the day.  In my mind's eye--and I'm roughly the same age as the characters in the actual movie-- Roseanna's is the "nice" restaurant such folks went to before retiring to the vacation-house hot tub for some Cutty Sark and Acapulco Gold.

Yeah, I'm exaggerating a bit for effect, and I'm not being very nice in doing so.

But seriously, Roseanna's doesn't seem to have updated a whit since the early 1980s.  Time-warp or not, though, the location and atmosphere of Roseanna's are by far the best things about this place.  The attractive cedar-shake building directly faces the Pacific Ocean and offers a great view of the Three Arch Rocks; this phenomenal view is pretty hard to beat anywhere on the planet.  Inside is a nice old bar and pleasantly-lit dining area.  Although the dated dining area's furniture looks cheap and old, the room has some character and disamring appeal to it nonetheless.  On the evening we were there, though, the music was piano versions of 1980s pop hits (think dreck like "The Wind Beneath My Wings").  Despite this gross soundtrack, and despite the throw-back vibe,  Roseanna's was definitely a nice place to spend a couple of hours.

The food, unfortunately, is a different story.  I must have misread the handwritten specials menu because I thought I was getting halibut cheeks and smoked salmon with a forgettable side of fettucine, but what I got was a bowl of pasta primavera with chunks of halibut (decent enough) and salty, dried-out salmon jerky.  This was just not very imaginative or very good.  In fairness, though, the clam chowder was nicely seasoned and better.  The wife ordered rockfish with a somewhat-later-than-the-early-1980s mango salsa, whipped potatoes with drawn butter (!), and a piece of corn on the cob that looked like it'd come from one of those frozen bags.

Service was kind of clunky.  Although our primary server appeared to be in her thirties, her manner and style were not very polished.

The only thing that's very 2010 about Roseanna's is the prices.  At around $100 for two entrees, the bowl of chowder, a shared dessert, and a rather modest bottle of wine, this was a mediocre dining experience in this price range.

    Go for the view.

My family visited the nearby lighthouse. It was approaching dinner time and we decided to head into town and wanted to find a restaurant closest to the ocean. We stumbled up Roseanna's Cafe and thought, "Why not!"

To our surprise, the food was excellent! If you like very fresh tasty fish, then this is your spot. Not a fish lover? Don't worry. They had a great selection of pasta and meat dishes. If you like soup, try the clam chowder which is filled with yummy spices.

The ocean views were beautiful and the ambiance was pleasant. The restaurant itself was small yet charming in it's own unique way. The place looked like it hadn't changed since..the 60's. However, it was very clean and every waitress was super friendly.

All in all, a great little spot if your passing through town and looking for some super delicious food!

Great selection of Oregon wines. Delicious fish. Besides the specials, you can mix and match between 3 fish types and 8 sauces. I had the salmon with Cajun style chutney. The fish was griddle fried - crunchy on the outside, melty on the inside. The sauce had a great kick to it.

Plenty of other options if fish isn't your thing. And their marionberry cobbler is fantastic. Also, beautiful view of the ocean.

They lose one star because the menu said that the fish came with fresh vegetables, and last time I checked, corn-on-the-cob isn't a vegetable.

Sigh.. I have been going to this spot on the coast for almost 30 years.. and it never seems to look any different, very nostalgic and constantly seals the memories whenever I return..

This place has the neatest senior waitress working here. She's quite lovely and has a wonderful southern accent to boot. I think she's related to the owner.  She's now, I am guessing, in her 80s. Last time I was there was maybe 6 years before that. She told me a story about her sailor she had met once upon a time.  I was so glad to see her again when I walked through the door. I reminded her of her sailor story and she just put out that sweet smile.

Their menu still remains pretty much as I have remembered it. You get to choose different sauces (ginger/pear is one of them) to put on your pasta as well as what type of seafood or meat you would like.  They also have these choices without the pasta in a stir fry.  Comes with a nice black loaf of warm bread, 2 sides (potato or rice) veggies.

My friend and I split a meal and they did not just put the plate out for you to pick through or for you to separate between the two of you. They actually split the meal and put it on 2 different plates. And they did not cut the potato in half but gave us each one.. things like that. Very customer service oriented.  And it was plenty to eat!

So of course we had to share a dessert and they have the same desserts they have had for years that I could count on and could still love the same.  We decided on the chocolate caramel crunch cake.. and it was exactly that, very moist and chocolatey/caramely.. :D

It only gets better there because the view is to die for.. and if you get a chance go there during sunset time but you better go on a weekday because there is always a line.

This place just completes the town.

This place remains the stronghold for this town. The seafood entrees are very good. The scenery is awesome and the service is friendly. It's got a cool beach front ambiance and a good Oregon beer selection.

Only negative was weak coffee. It's definately worth a visit. The salmon with the shrimp on top is awesome.

    Salute

I see this place hasn't been reviewed at all in 2010. Oops, sorry to have to start with a bad one, but that is what this site is for, the honest experience.
They are one of three places to grab a bite to eat in town, the other directly across the street and is an inn as well and then the coffee shop at the corner where you can get a cinnamon bun or some gifts to take home along with your fresh coffee drink.

We had eaten at this restaurant once before in 2007 and had breakfast, so we had thought, with a much more extensive menu to chose from.  They don't open until 10am, and now only offer 5 breakfast items 4 of which are scrambles and the other sausage gravy and biscuits. Only $5.95 for the biscuit but $11.75 for the scramble. $12.95 if you want the one that has crab and shrimp in it.

I went with the grilled cheese sandwich with green salad ( $8 ), they don't have a deep fat fryer so no french fries here. I asked for a side of bacon. The waitress came back to our table to inform us that my bacon was going to be $1.25 A SLICE! Not two pieces but a slice. This per piece burning is on the heels of us just recovering from earlier ordering mimosas. At that time the waitress came back and informed us that we had to purchase a split of champagne and a carafe of fresh squeezed orange juice and she would then "pour" the two together at our table to make a mimosa. The champagne was $12.95 and the OJ $2.95.  The coffee was $1.25 a cup which was about 4oz, since she didn't fill it nearly to the top of the 6oz cup. The coffee tasted like dishwater. The Husband says it was commissary type of coffee.

Our food arrives and it is a hearty portion, that is for sure. The Husband's shrimp and crab scramble was partially a left over. He wanted to substitute the muffin for an English muffin instead.
Oh and he wanted to originally order something completely off the lunch menu but asked to have a fried egg put on top of it to make it a more breakfasty item, and the waitress came back and said all the eggs were already broken, meaning they use a ladle to make those scrambles. The shrimp in his scramble tasted really fishy too. Not so fresh, which is a shame being on the coast like that.

The grilled cheese was made with Tillamook cheddar cheese on sourdough bread. It was really good, though the bread could have been a little more golden brown. The blue cheese dressing tasted home made and had some nice chunks of cheese in it. The croutons were the highlight of the entire meal, and that says something, doesn't it? They were homemade for sure and the herb seasoning and buttery flavor was perfectly balanced. I did notice about 10 dessert items on the board so it seemed like the cook had a hankering for making the sweets. I could see coming in just for dessert, the selections ranged from strawberry shortcake to triple chocolate mousse.

Our total meal cost was over $50 bucks, for breakfast, that wasn't even that good. We ate someplace in a neighboring town the night before that gave us way more food and cocktails for less money. We should have gone there for breakfast instead, since they did serve it there. Perhaps that is where everyone is going now too since no new reviews are here?

I think this is the only restaurant in the entire seaside town of Oceanside but with food this good, who cares? I went with my family who were visiting from the UK and we were all very satisfied. The staff are quaint, elderly, sweet and efficient. The variety of gourmet entrees are cooked on locale (nothing frozen, pre-made or processed) all of which incorporate fresh ingredients. Sauteed shrimp, crab cakes, clam linguine, and large dinner salad were all superb. The desserts are out of this world. Strawberry-rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream, Marionberry pie, Blueberry pie, Huckleberry trifle, Triple cream coconut cake, Triple chocolate fudge cake, and raspberry cheesecake were delicious. Only bad thing was our waitress forgot my iced tea and would disappear from time to time when we needed things like napkins and water.

One more thing, I met a group of tourists from Alabama, one of which knew the son of my dad's best friend back from like 70 years ago. What are the chances of that?! I mean really. What a small strange little world we live in.

My daughter and I went here tonight, if only because there wasn't much to speak of in Netarts or Tillamook, and some folks on Yelp had recommended it highly.

We walked in and sat at the counter. The woman working there was talking to another worker who was sitting at the counter. (We got there early and were the only customers in the whole place.) She saw us come in, obviously, yet she completely ignored us. Finally, the guy at the counter (Israel) said something in Spanish to her and she decided to acknowledge our presence. Despite that odd introduction to the restaurant, we had to sit down because, well, see the previous paragraph.

Our waitress deigned to wait on us. She assessed me up and down (sunglasses on top of head, shorts, etc.), and seemed almost put out to wait on me. Whatever. I ordered the spicy garlic penne with tiger prawns and scallops. The dish was good, but the scallops were overcooked. My daughter's grilled cheese sandwich was both grilled and cheesy; difficult to muck that one up. Our waitress disappeared for 15 minutes or so. We had to get another waitress to get her attention. She was also talking to someone at the front counter. Perhaps that's just what they do here.

I would only return here if I stayed in Oceanside or Netarts again. The service is shoddy and looking even remotely different will not help your cause here. Just look as white and boring as possible. That might help.

My fiancee and I have eaten here several times (it's about 20 minutes from our apartment). We've enjoyed ourselves each time.

Pros:  the view is spectacular. If you have been to Oceanside, then you'll know how amazing the beach is and this place is the last business before the park and right on the edge of the cliff, so it enjoys an amazing view. The food is solid. Not haute cuisine, but enjoyable and capably prepared. Obviously the seafood is a huge draw here given its location. The dessert menu is both impressive in size as well as in taste. I have a pretty big sweet tooth, so I always make a point of leaving enough room for something sweet and yummy.

Cons:  the wait can be long (enough so that I don't even think I'd try on a weekend evening in the summer). If you don't get a table towards the west or north of the building you'll miss out on Roseanna's best asset--the view. Service is acceptable, but no more. There isn't a lot of creativity for the basics (salads, for example).

Other reviewers are right--the best restaurant in the area, but not because of any spectacular food, but more because of lack of competition/other choices.

Nevertheless, definitely recommended if you're in the area and wanting some competently prepared food.

This little restaurant is a gem on the Oregon coast!  The location is spectacular and their food lives up to the view. I have eaten here more times than I can count and have never been disappointed. There are only about 10 or 12 tables, so it gets very busy, especially on a weekend during summer. It's not uncommon to have to wait an hour in peak season. One way around this is to go early. Their dinner menu starts at 4:00pm and if you're there by 6:00 you won't have to wait long. The sauteed oysters melt in your mouth.

Their menu gives you a lot of choice. They have it set up so that you pick the type of fish or shellfish you want, then you choose from a number of sauces that they cook it with. My favorite entree, is the gorgonzola & pear pasta with hazelnuts. I'm starting to salivate now, just thinking of it!

Their homemade desserts are fabulous. If you don't have room for dessert, you can get it to go.

Rosanna's is a small town restaurant with big rewards. If you find yourself anywhere near Oceanside, seek it out, you won't be disappointed.
