Well I must agree with the other 4 star ratings and certainly disagree with Uberseist from Sacramento. I've eaten here twice, hamburgers both times and found them far better than fast food (perhaps with the exception of Carl's Jr.). They do NOT use those awful 1/4 lb patties which restaurants get frozen in boxes of a hundred. The meat was far better than that. I also got potato salad rather than fries. The potato salad was home made and contained bacon which was a surprise. I usually try to stay away from bacon to reduce fat intake so I picked it out but some still seeped through and it sure made the salad taste good. I was eating during the lunchtime rush and still got exceptional service. I will certainly eat here again.
Review Source:I LOOOOOOVE small town, mom and pop places to eat. Â Also for the fact that Sierraville is one of my most favorite small towns that I have ever been to. Â Anyway, Round Up Cafe is good. Â As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile. Â The service is off the hook. Â Coffee cup is always full. Â The food is good. Â For some reason I love their hashbrowns more than anyone should love something. Â The locals add a cool vibe to the place as well. Â After camping/hunting we always stop here on our way home for our last taste of home cooking before heading back to reality/home.
Review Source:The Round Up Cafe is one of two restaurants in little town of Sierraville -- and thank goodness it's got great food and service! Â I'm always greeted within seconds of sittting down, and coffee is served right away. Â The egg, hashbrown, bacon, and toast meal is consistently good. Â They use high quality, thick-cut bacon. Â The biscuits and gravy are also good. Â Most recently I had the french toast and bacon -- excellent. Â It is a local's favorite -- I think I've seen the same folks sitting at the counter over past few years! Â The cowgirl/cowboy decor is wonderful and fits the surrounding area. Â Friendly efficient service and good food -- it's all you want in a breakfast place. They are also open for lunch, but I haven't had their lunch.
Review Source:The best biscuits in California are located in Sierraville, California.
On our way out of Clio, we happened to stop in at the Roundup Cafe and greeted by some super awesome friendly locals. They had coffee sitting in front of us within seconds and menus resting on the table.
This is your basic throwback small town diner that whips some of the best comfort breakfast food you will ever find. Thick crispy bacon, perfectly scrambled eggs, and fluffy pancakes are just a few of the perfectly prepared menu items you will find.
However with this being said, the biscuits here are NOT to be missed! They are huge and chock full of flavor! Perfect for dipping into your corned beef hash and eggs or drizzle 'em with honey.
I keep looking for reasons to make a return visit.
PS. We did spot a dead bear in the back of a pick up, so careful when messing with any of the locals.
Sierraville is a small town, with only a couple of restaurants. Â With such a small town, I assumed that this cafe would be a greasy spoon with crotchety locals and a waitress similar to Flo from Mel's Diner. Â My assumptions proved right.
I'll say this, though - the elderly crotchety locals were friendly, the food was very reasonably priced, and the service was very good.
The food, however, was utilitarian. Â My suggestion is to either head across the street to Dos Hermanos, or, if you can catch it during the few hours a day that it's open, head up to the Sierra Hot Springs and
eat at the Philosophy Cafe located in the main lodge.
