Stopped here on a cross-country road trip and was pleasantly surprised. Family ordered 4 dishes: a filet cooked perfectly to order (rare), chicken pasta that had plenty of chicken and sundried tomatoes, a hot sandwich special (roast beef with au jus, I think it was) that was ENORMOUS and a steal at $9, and a steak salad that had fresh salad greens and a generous portion of steak. The only criticism is that one of our sides was pepper fries, which sounded intriguing, but turned out to be a pile of normal fries with some black pepper sprinkled on top. I guess it was exactly as advertised, but we were hoping for something a bit more special. Still, overall meal was great. Service wasn't super speedy, but on par with the general speed of other places we went to in Colorado.
Review Source:My wife and I went on a Wednesday night. Â The main dining room was full, so we had to sit in the bar area. Â But the menu is the same there, so that wasn't really an issue.
On Wednesday's the special is a 12 ounce New York Strip, which is what I wanted anyhow. Â The price is dropped from $19 down to $15, so I decided to have a Fat Tire (at happy hour prices, $2.75) and add fried shrimp. Â Beth had a half order of tilapia, which is one filet (the full order is two). Â Both our meals included two sides. Â I had onion rings and salad (both good). Â Beth had sauteed veggies and salad (both good).
My steak was really good, and I'm glad I didn't waste any money on the special preparations. Â As it was, they put on salt and pepper and maybe butter. Â The fish was also good; she had the lemon herb preparation.
All told, with a 20% tip and tax, the bill was a little over $44, which seemed reasonable. Â In an area with lots of good restaurants, I'd probably only rate this place 3 stars, but in Burlington it may be the best restaurant around (surrounded by McD's, Burger King, and Pizza Hut). Â So I'm giving it 4 stars.
Had a steak salad that was surprisingly good on a Wednesday night. Â The place was hopping and the big wind/rain/hail storm added to the ambiance. Â Service was dismal as I came in right after 8, when they close the dining room and as a single female I had to compete with tables of young men...".hmmm who should I notice first, said the waitress?"
Review Source:The sign outside said "new menu & mgmt." We didn't care - the Jones&Raine (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fjonesandraine.com&s=b51993f5a5a13f7b51c7bd31d13c3658bcf3495a97a7800c67416bd07de8e118" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://jonesandraine.com</a>) band was in town for a wedding gig and needed grub.
Sat. 5:30pm it was busy - seated promptly with a table for 7. Drinks served within 7 minutes. Entrees took awhile to deliver - 15 min. Food was very good! We went with sandwiches - burgers, french dip, etc. Sweet potato fries are great. Certainly would stop by again.
This was a decent stop along the interstate, and it was something different than fast food. Â The prices were decent. Â I had the 'shroom bruger with sweet potato fries. Â The burger was decent and the sweet potato fries were crisp. Â The service was friendly, but the food took forever.
