Ruby Tuesday attempts to pull off a fancy chain-restaurant vibe and isn't entirely successful - it's still a burger and fries joint at heart. My pet peeve here is that they don't keep ketchup bottles at the table (what's up with that?), so diners have to request the condiment.
I've enjoyed their mini turkey burgers and crispy french fries in the past; most recently though, I chose the "Veggie Trio and Garden Bar." The garden bar offered a selection  of salad greens, a variety of veggie toppings, tasty prepared salads (try the broccoli cheddar salad!) and other odds and ends. Items were fresh and were being replenished throughout our visit.
For the veggie trio portion of the meal, I chose three side items: grilled green beans, grilled zucchini and mashed cauliflower. Overall I was pleased with my choices and appreciated the healthy options. While the green beans and zucchini had a nice crunch, someone was a bit heavy handed with the cooking oil - I almost patted the oil off the zucchini.
Unfortunately, our server, although she was pleasant enough, seemed distracted and uninterested. For example, we missed out on the biscuits that were being served to the tables around us by other wait staff.
To complete the experience, I ordered two red velvet cupcakes: one to enjoy at the restaurant and one to take home. The cupcake was the best part of the meal! Very moist and delicious. It was also just right - not oversized but satisfying.
Went to Ruby Tuesday after a day at the State Fair and was really happy to see a well-stocked salad bar. A few too many mayo based options, but plenty of greens and veggies.
I agree with other review, no labels on salad dressings, obvious and easy fix.
Our server was a bit clueless, but managed ok with our party of 8.
My bbq chicken was fine, about what I expected, plain breast slathered in sauce, but it was still tender and not dry. Son got lobster mac and cheese and thought it was ok. Â
overall, I got my salad fix, so it was good!
I'm not quite sure what to give as the overall rating, but 3 stars seems about right even though it's not the correct mathematical average based on the ratings I've provided below. Â
-3.5 stars for salad bar
-2.75 stars for food
-4 stars for service
The service was great. Â Our server was friendly and efficient. Â I also received great service at another Ruby Tuesday in Syracuse a couple of years ago, so Ruby Tuesday must be doing something right in terms of providing consistent, comprehensive, quality, customer service training. Â
The food was alright. Â The salad bar had a decent selection of options with several types of potato salads, broccoli salad, pasta salad to accompany the usual veggies. Â I usually really like their croutons but this time they were slightly stale and not as crispy. Â The salad dressings weren't labeled which was a little inconvenient. Â The lobster mac n cheese sounded great on the menu, but it was so heavy and rich that it was hard to taste the lobster, even though there were large chunks of lobster. Â Some of the lobster was was over cooked to the point of rubbery-ness. Â It's inexpensive to add on the salad bar to entree, so I would highly recommend it.
