This is one of the best spots for lunch or dinner in New Richmond. Hands. Down. Â Every single thing on their menu is spectacular, and with the new menu, it is even more difficult to decide what to order (because really, I want it all.)
Let me just start with the appetizers. Â Cheese curds: great. Pita chips: I have dreams about them and their delicious parm dip. Â Don't miss out on them. Â Wings: Best in town, no competition (let's be real, they're the best I've had ever. Â And I've eaten buffalo wings all over the country.) Â The Old Saloon knows how to make wings that walk that line between spice and bold flavor, offering both with a house-made bleu cheese that is nothing short of perfect. Â And if buffalo isn't your thing, the Thai Chilli wings are also delicious.
Their salads are also delicious, and great for lunch. Â Our favorites are the mandarin chicken salad and the Southwest salad. Â All of the dressings and dips are house-made from scratch, and it really shows.
Turn the menu over, and you have the main entree offerings. Â Burgers--again, best in town. Â The Wisconsin Burger will forever be my favorite (My favorite meal when coming home from college), but the Leini Lodge Burger, Crazy Horse, and Slow Burn Adobe are all guaranteed to please. Â The classics like the Saloon burger and Wisconsin burger offer great flavors that can't be beat, while the other burgers offer really interesting flavor combinations and toppings that you just can't find anywhere else in New Richmond, or the area for that matter. Â Other favorites include the Sammy's melt, wraps, and the fish fry (I'm not sure I've seen a bigger piece of fish.) Â The menu even boasts a list of french fries--sweet potato with marshmallow dipping sauce, fries with a Belgian-style dip (pomme frites!), and cajun fries. Â All are delicious, but I never miss the cajun fries--with a side of the bleu cheese, of course.
Did I mention the great beer? Â Seasonal cocktails? Draft rootbeer? Â The friendly service? The great atmosphere? The beautiful decorations? Â The nights with live music? Â Oh yeah, The Old Saloon's got that too. Â You can't go wrong here--unless, of course, you forget to order an extra side of bleu cheese or forget an order of the pita chips..
The BEST Chicken Wings in the Midwest area. Enjoying wings in every spot I travel in MidWest, this is the real deal, good meat, cooked correctly and the best spices. Hot is Hot. Draft Beer is a good mixure of craft beers, local when possiable. One of the most unique bars in St Croix area with a low light, relaxed atmoshere, good music. Some nights Live bands.
Busy early in night for great food, full fillets of fish, curds, burgers and homemade soups. Almost all foods from scratch..... to bad only open Wed to Sat. Staff always friendly and warm.
