The Salty Caper

Awesome pizza & beer downtown. Very friendly people at the bar as well. I came here while travelling for business. So, I sat at the bar by myself and the people there were very friendly.

Great brick oven pizza, in fact the best pizza in North Carolina as far as I'm concerned.  The atmosphere is interesting and well, let's just say it's cozy.  I don't drink beer but from the looks on folk's faces, and the amount of beer they sold while I was there, it must be pretty darn good.  The only drawbacks are limited seating and no wait staff.  I really don't think there is room to have a wait staff.  I have been here just a handful of times but will be back for sure.

We only stopped in for a beer - ended up having a few. Bartender was talkative, friendly and started the fryer in order for us to get a serving of a fried bread that was topped with sugar and chocolate - did I say YUM? I understand why there were locals in here because it certainly was a friendly place ... and amazingly all before 5 pm!
