We went for both lunch and dinner. What did we have... Chipotle Bacon burger. (My husband said it was one of the best burgers he had in his life). He also had the BLT. He said it was a good BLT. We also had the cocktail prawn appetizer (the prawns were delicious I tired both the sauces. My preference was the spicy cocktail over the cilantro lime).  Onto my entrées Chicken Caesar Wrap with sweet potato fries (Neither are something to write home about but both were tasty and I would probably order them again) . Onto my dinner entrée teriyaki chicken sandwich (I personally would not recommend. I didn't but like the flavor of the chicken at all.) lastly was dessert it was a peach blueberry crumble pie. I'm pretty sure I could have ate the while pan ;) blueberry is my favorite.
Wait staff was so so  lunch staff was better than the dinner . The water was self serve which was strange to me. Maybe it's a pub thing and I just don't know.

I came here during a drive down the coast from Seaside to Rockaway.  I had seen the place before but hadn't stopped in.  I'm glad I did this time around!

Fun, upbeat staff and great atmosphere inside.  There is also a patio out back to enjoy some sunshine and a beer.  The patio area is also pet friendly, a huge plus!  The patio area was full this time around so I didn't get to enjoy it, but I had a cocktail and appetizer inside at the bar instead.  My drink was poured generously and the appetizer wasn't bad.  I won't comment on the food because I had chicken strips, and I can't rate a kitchen on chicken strips alone, but they were your average chicken strips, like I said, not bad.

I was informed by staff that the place also has live bands playing on most weekends.  That night they had 70's and 80's rock & roll.  Too bad I couldn't attend and hang with the locals:/  I'm sure it would be a good time!

Overall:  I'll definitely swing back in here for a cold one next time I'm in Manzanita!

Best spot for a good drink and real food. Grass fed beef in the burgers, fresh seafood and don't miss the fish tacos or chili cheese fries.

Best bar in town! The bartenders are GREAT! The food is yummy and it's the perfect place to sum up the little town! It wouldn't be a trip to manzanita with out stopping in for a drink on the patio here

Mediocre at best, over priced for sure. Got the fish and chips which were edible but not that hot. The tarter sauce was mayonnaise with maybe a hint of lemon, maybe. The thing that got me on top of this mediocrity was that for the price it didn't even come with slaw. I did get a side of it which furthered my disappointment, it was basically only cabbage with next to none sauce/dressing. My friend had the chipotle chicken burger, soggy mess would be the best way to describe it. Then there were the fries, just not good. Service was okay but our server seemed a bit overwhelmed. Have you ever seen the look in a deer's eyes just before it gets hit? Maybe it would have been a 3 star but when you pay $28 for that and 2 sodas ... If all you're looking for is a few beers when in Manzanita then by all means this is the place to go, but if you want to eat look elsewhere.

Not too many vegetarian/ vegan options but a nice selection of beer. There is a nice mix of locals and out of towners. We went on a Saturday night and it  was packed but lively. The sweet potato fries were pretty good and it was interesting seeing most of the employees from shops we visited having a good time.

Fantastic old establishment.  Great food and good vibe.  Beer is served in chilled glasses.  And the ocean I just two blocks away for a romantic stroll.  A must place to visit whenever we're in the area.

I love this place. It's cozy, a little divey in the best way, and the people are really cool. Best of all, San Dune has surprisingly good food for a "dive." The oyster shooters are out of this world. I've also enjoyed the prawn tacos (delicious sauces and slaw to go with them), the po' boy and many other dishes. Definitely give this place a shot. Quality food and VERY reasonable prices.

Great little pub a short distance from the beach in Manzanita. Came here for a few beers after being out, they had a nice selection of draft beers and a nice menu with quite a few good looking seafood and burger/bar food items.  We had a few oyster shooters they were awesome, very fresh.  This place is a bit on the divey side but that is my kinda place I loved it!!

This is the main place for night life in Manzanita. We've been here during the day for lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner, dessert and drinks at night. It's your local neighborhood kind of place. Food is fair bar eats. The staff is friendly and gets things to you as quick as possible. They have an amazing chocolate peanut butter pie that's amazing and I don't usually like chocolate peanut butter desserts. However, that's the only good items I've had there that I can think of while I write this review. Not much sticks out in my mind about this place. We usually stop in here just because when we are in town. It's not somewhere Mr Kupcakes or I think is a must to go to, it's that it's familiar and we are ok with that.

Great place to relax and have a pint. We grabbed a table in the back patio. Their menu is bigger than expected. Got the prawn cesar wrap and a Kona beer after working up an appetite biking on the beach, and they were exactly what I needed. I would love to come back someday, definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a great brew and bite in Manzanita.

Decent food, AMAZING PATIO that is dog friendly !,
great cocktails,  live music on the weekends and lot's of space inside. The sweet potato fries were yummy,
Most of the wait staff were excellent with the exception of one.
She was on the curt and rude side with our large group. So much so we did everything we could to avoid having her wait on us since it seemed that the wait staff shared tables. All the other servers were amazing, but when the food is on average side you really can't have any rude servers. But the owner did not seem to care because he was sitting right there.

This is a cute beach pub with a good beer selection.

The oysters are tasty.  We got an oyster basket, and the breading is flavorful (maybe slightly salty) and the oysters fresh.  I could see an oyster po' boy having good flavor.  I enjoyed the cole slaw that accompanied it - not too creamy or sweet, and the dressing had a refreshing cilantro element.

I was not as big a fan of the seafood bisque, I thought it was just okay.

FYI we were told that the fish and oysters come fresh, but the clams come frozen.

Both the service and the food here are average. The plus side is that they have a nice outdoor sitting area and are very dog friendly.

We came here several times and tried a few different entrees. The fries (both regular and sweet potato) and the tater totS were good. We tried the oyster and shrimp po' boys. I am not a fan of oysters but those were better than most I've tasted. The grilled shrimp was not seasoned and not grilled very well. The chipotle sauce was yummie.
We also tried the fish and chips, the chipotle bacon burger and the babyback ribs (their Tuesday special). Unfortunately, none were very good. The fish was soggy and overcooked, th burger was dry and overlooked (though all the condiments were very fresh, it was not enough to make up for the bad burger), the babyback ribs were also dry and overcooked but the BBQ sauce was nicely caramelized.

In terms of the service, it varied. We had to chase the waiters several times to get our bill or order food but generally the people were very friendly.

Nice little local pub with awesome food, good service, and a stocked bar.  Prices are fair and flavours are supreme. I love their oysters which are always filling and fresh. Their coleslaw is very unique and filled with lots of onion and cilantro. More on the dry side if that's your kink.

They do have live bands and normally charge a cover of 5 bucks. If you pop in in the off-season you may just see a celeb or two that frequent Manzanita to get away from it all. Leave them alone and let them enjoy their peace....they deserve a cold one too.

Nice, come as you are kind of spot in a town that can be pretty full of itself at times.

    Burgers are always tasty.
But I always get the seafood bisque, very good.
    Great Beer selection.
    Service is sharp.

    Fresh food, quality.

My only complaint is to the rich locals who order PBR.
    What's the deal with that?
No disrespect to PBR,  but Henry's is a better cheap beer.

First trip to Manzanita and we found this place - we'll be back next trip too.

Good drinks and reasonably priced. I had the Chicken Cobb wrap, which was pretty big and really, really good - chicken, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, romaine, and blue cheese dressing in a tomato tortilla. It was perfect with big chunks of chicken breast, crispy bacon, and just the right amount of blue cheese. Highly recommend!

The interior is homey and inviting and I loved the stone fireplace. It's beach-themed in decor, meaning some glass floats and surf boards, but not the kitschy life preserver / lighthouse / starfish crap you find at just about every other beach bar.

Service was fine - we had a few different bartenders when we were there, ranging from funny and attentive (2) to quiet and fairly apathetic (2 others). Got the job done though.

Never did ask why the weird spelling of the bar's name though. Another time.

    Gin Fizzzzz!
I wanted champagne with fizzle but there was not a drop in the place.
The server was quick on her feet and told me about this drink! I was frazzled about it!
It had just what I wanted, some bubbles pizazz!  Went down just as fast as champagne does which is not always a good thing but I enjoyed the buzz!

They also had Margo Tufu playing on this particular night and she was zinging them out big time!

We ordered oysters/sweet potatoes/coleslaw.. HUGE plate of oysterZ to be had!!! WOWZA!

When all was said and done I walked back to the hotel so I could cut me some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZs.

There aren't many places to eat in Manzanita.  This is one of them.

I wasn't expecting a 'happening' bar scene in this tiny coastal town, but it would have been nice if this, the only bar in town, at least had a pool table or dart board or something.  What they did have in the way of entertainment were several TVs tuned to sports and some classic rock music playing in the background.  I liked the all-wood decor of the place and the big stone fireplace.  The food we ordered here was decent enough but not at all memorable, and the prices weren't too bad.

What an amazing gem of a pub in Manzanita. Warm, cozy, homey feeling. Everyone in town said this was the spot to hit up for good beer and grub. They weren't wrong. We came with a small group but ended up chatting up with people. Loved how nice everyone was. I recommend the Oyster Po' boy-the slaw was probably the best slaw I've ever had and the oysters were perfectly cooked and taste was killer! My friend ordered the Fish burger and she loved it. She's a bit of a picky eater, so seeing how much she liked the fish burger, I wold recommend it to everyone. We also got a few oyster shooters-gosh darnit! I don't know what it is about Oregon and their oysters but the were deeeleeesh. Ugggg. We kept them coming-fresh, HUGE and absolutely perfect. Have a few Mac and Jacks and hard cider and you're good to go! Yum.

We visited the Sand Dune Pub twice in the same night. Once with just my boyfriend for a beer and a light snack and again for drinks with friends. It was within walking distance to the place we were staying and the service was good each time. It's your typical sports pub with many large TVs and kitschy beach-themed knick knacks all around.

My favorite being a sign that says "What happens in Manzanita, stays in Manzanita"...Seeing as we visited the same bar twice in one night makes me think that there really isnt much else going on in Manzanita...

I ordered the Seafood bisque which was SO good! I love soup and usually clam chowder is my go to - but this was a nice change and so delicious and creamy. I will definitely be back to have the soup again!

The atmosphere was cool like any other pub. Food was good but to even get service to sit down or get a refill on a pop was really tough! I probably won't be going there again.

Nice spot to eat while staying at the ocean or if you are on a day visit. Cozy interior and there's outdoor seating in the back where they will allow up to three dogs to accompany you at a time which was perfect for us since we had two along for the day,

The menu is extensive and everything looked really good. I settled with the prawn cocktail and it was so delicious. They were super fresh and the cocktail sauce had just enough kick to it to keep things interesting. We also had an artichoke dip and that was also very good.

The drinks were really strong and the waitress/ bartender was very nice.  I'll be back for sure.  In fact, now that I think of it, I had been here previously last year and can't remember what I had at that time. Nice strong drinks.

The restaurant we wanted to try in Cannon Beach turned out to be closed on Wednesdays, so we decided to give San Dune Pub a try for dinner. Thank goodness for yelp!

I have to say from the outside looking in, this place seems a bit grungy, but we all know that looks can be deceiving. The interior is dark & super-cozy and the food is definitely above average. Great fish and chips for me and hubby enjoyed a burger.

So happy that we gave San Dune a try! We'll be back.

Cold rainy lunch spot. Walked into a warm welcoming spot.

Ordered a chicken chipotle, minus the bacon. Side of sweet potato fries and a monkey face porter. Awesome.

My wife had a hearty Garden Burger that was crispy juicy and delicious.

Ate here twice during our stay. Heard about their burger and tried it - glad I did. Ronda had the oyster Po' Boy and loved it. Second time I intended to get seafood, but it was baby back rib special night and I couldn't resist. Very good. Ronda had the fried oyster basket and shared a couple with me. Thumbs up. Inviting space and great service.

Gluten Free Options: Not unless you're creative with the menu (salad?) and eat at your own risk. They do have Wider's cider.
Vegan Options: Well, there's always the salad.

This place gets points for being friendly and close to the beach. Be forewarned, though, if you have any kind of eating restrictions, as you may be SOL - this is a typical bar, which means it offers typical bar food, and cross-contamination is alllllllll over the place. They have live music on the weekends, which is cool, though there's a cover to get in.

I love the San Dune. We always spend a night or two there when we're in town.

    Service is always great.

Food is always good, though never amazing. It is a pub, after all.

I recommend the fish tacos. Anything with oysters. All of their sandwiches are good. Their cilantro dressing is AWESOME.

    Yummy, yummy Bloody Marys!!!

Great patio in back. Great fireplace. Live music on the weekends.

This place is like a favorite pair of  blue jeans - not your best pair of pants, but usually the ones you wish you were wearing.  We've been coming here for years.   The place is pretty pet friendly, so during warm summer days we sit out back on the patio with our dog.

The food, to be sure, is bar food, but it's pretty good bar food.  They offer plenty of seafood plates like oyster burgers, fish & chips and fish tacos.  They serve cold micro-brews and have a full bar as well.  The place can get quite crowded, but the service is usually prompt and friendly.

My expectations are pretty laid back, and I'm never disappointed.

We had a large group with a dog which was very welcome on the patio. some dog owners walked right in and others took the back entrance. it was a doggie palooza.

The drinks were strong and fairly decent pricing. The patio was nice but no table service, which is actually fine. it's a big place with very few staff.

We ordered a variety of things being a large group. The oyster shooters were in fact outstanding. me and my love got a burger and a bowl of seafood stew. The stew was a little steep at $7 a bowl, but i think that's fairly standard. There was supposedly all this seafood in it, The broth was awesome, but i only felt crab chunks which were tasty. This of course is not a complaint just an observation, all in all it was a great bowl of soup and hit the spot. The burger was standard, it was pretty tasty and the fries were good. no complaints. The kitchen btw, is ridik tiny, it's amazing it didn't take longer with all those people in there. my pal got the crab salad, which was huuge! and it looked fantastic. They also had some good looking tacos ordered by some others at our table, nice portions on those.

    First they need more staff.
We stopped in for a beer during the day. My lover say's "hey they have a Tues night $15 baby back rib special". I say " Get the F--k out", which is michael speak for, we are coming back.

When we went back later for dinner it's packed. A little wait but not bad.
We get 1/2 dz oyster shooters and 2 orders of ribs.
Well we didn't finish the shooters that took 30 min. to get. They tasted like pre shucked oysters and were warmish...ehhh

Then the ribs get to the table. 1/2 a slab? For $15 not so special, kinda expensive. But the worst part was that they were Food Service par cooked ribs.  I go look in the kitchen, and yep every F-in 1/2 a slab goes into the microwave for 5 min, then get a slathering of BBQ sauce, then under the broiler for a min. But its worse, they only have one microwave, if your gonna have one evil MFer, might as well have enough to do the job.

They must have served 50 rib dinners that night. And they could only put one order of ribs in at a time. 50 x 5min, you do the math. Makes for slow service.  Kind of ironic since par cooked is suppose to be fast.

They get 2 stars for 2 reasons ,one the Macallan's was only $8 for a pour. And second the waitress/bartender was hot.

This is a place to drink and socialize. And when the Seniors go to bed it can get interesting.

Been coming here forever. Good food, good beer, kinda surely/fun waitresses.  Saturday they had a live band that was Dick Dale/Ventures instrumental surf music. FUN  All ages dancing together.  I love to hear "Walk, Don't Run" live with a good buzz on.  I went to the bar to buy a round of 3 micro beers in small beer glasses and it was 7.00! CHEAP.  Good time was had by all!

    Hey Steve W.-  WHAT EVER.

Thank you Sand Dune Pub for serving bourbon and being so close to my hotel that I could walk back!!!

Came here twice on my visit to the Oregon Coast.
Once, to have my bourbon shot on the night of my birthday and once the next day for a late lunch.

Walked in on Saturday night and I immediately felt like I was at home in a place that I would frequent on a normal basis.  The place is relaxed and a definite beach town pub (loving it).  Felt like the surfers would walk in any minute to talk about the waves they encountered that day.  More than likely due to all the surf boards that decorates the place and the overall feel of the wooden interior, fireplace, etc that made it feel like you were in a shack on the beach somewhere.

Pulled a seat up at the bar and was immediately given a menu and a "be right back to help you".
The place was pretty busy and there were only 2 girls that were working both the bar and the tables.

Since I had already had dinner, disappointed that I had after looking at the menu, I ordered bourbon and asked what they had.  She listed the possibilities and came up with one that would be ok.  The waitress asked if I wanted it mixed with anything, a water with it or???  I said neat please.  I got a look like, um ok and then a "Now I know why you are being picky with the type of bourbon".

I was asked about mid drink if I was doing ok and then after I finished, I got my tab and the waitress said "Nicely done" (without condescension in her voice, but more with a I was shocked that you ordered it neat and wasn't sure if you would be able to finish it). I smiled, said "Thanks", paid my tab and went on my way.

Second visit to the Sand Dune was for a late afternoon lunch.  After looking at the menu the night before, I decided I most definitely had to try their food.  Good thing I have an expandable stomach!

I went with my standard to try places out.  That's right, a blue cheeseburger.  This one had bacon that came with it.  For a side, they either served chips or for an extra buck or something you got fries with it or??  Anyway, I knew I was still a little full from breakfast, so I just opted for the chips.  For $8.50, the burger was HUGE!!!  I normally don't cut my burgers in half to eat them, but this one it was definitely necessary.  Another note, for those out there that care, they use all natural peidmontese beef that is raised without added hormones or antibiotics and is naturally lower in fat and cholesterol.

After finishing it up, barely, I got my tab and paid up and was on my way.

Other things they offer are wraps (chicken, prawn, oyster), Ciabatta sandwiches (BLT, Veggie, Chicken, Turkey), seafood, soups, salads, hummus, pesto plate, chili cheese fries, wings, sweet potato fries, etc.  A pretty wide selection that I'm sure you could find something to eat.

    Service both times was good.
    Prices were right.
    Atmosphere, relaxed and chill.

Definitely a place I'd like to hang out in more often and will be on my places to return to when on the coast!!!

Everything you would expect from a pub bar in a small Oregon coastal town. Large fireplace and wood interior set the mood here. A great place to go if camping at the Nehalem Bay campground nearby. Can be reached via beach access a little over 1 mile walk from the campground.

Fish and chips was good, but the oyster shooters were outstanding.

Great place to go for a pub evening. Summer time college student type hangout. Little trouble (constantly) with the fireplace, though. Smoke comes down in instead of out... not so great. Went there to play music in a session a few weeks back... just to try it out. They left the TV on while we were playing, and we got smoked out by the fireplace repeatedly.
Their food is EXCELLENT. It's pub food. Grilled good stuff. I'm a blue cheese-aholic, and the blue cheese smothered burger (not sure what it's called on the menu)  is to die for!

    I heart you.

Maybe it's because I have a thing for big rock fireplaces, and baby, I love your rocks. Or perhaps it's that I think that grilled pineapple should be an option on ALL teriyaki chicken burgers...and baby, you grilled my pineapples... ? (sorry, that one was a stretch...) or you know, the pool tables and 50inch TVs might help as well.

But honestly, I think it's just who you are. You're blocks from the beach, and who isn't happy when they're at the beach? At a pub? With beer? And a fireplace?

In fact, I'm on my way right now. : )
