This restaurant has great ambiance but sadly it does not measure up to the five-star status of the Tamaya Hyatt Resort of which it is one of the Resort's two major restaurants. Â My wife and I and our Morgan Stanley broker from Albuquerque had lunch here recently. Â My wife was looking forward to ordering the great salad (including figs and goat cheese) which she had had on a previous lunch at Santa Ana Cafe. Â A new menu made short shrift of salads. Â I wanted a chicken breast sandwich and thought that I was getting one with a chicken and avocado sandwich, which turned out to consist of shaved chicken breast with avocado spread instead of sliced avocado served without fries for $12. Â Someone pointed out that I had missed the word "shaved" on the menu. Â This sandwich was worthy of Subway but not of Tamaya. Â How could I get a chicken breast sandwich? Â According to my waiter I could order from a build-your-own-burger card which was handed out with the menu. Â But there was no writing on the card which said that you could substitute a chicken breast for a burger. Â Another server told me that you have to make a request for chicken in lieu of beef. Â Give me a break! Â Why should it be so hard to get a full chicken breast in a time of great heath consciousness at a Hyatt major resort? Â I would recommend the Sandia Casino and Resort;s Council Room, which has a great chicken-breast sandwich with fries or baked potato for $10. Â Even the unpretentious Range Cafe in downtown Bernalillio has a chicken breast and sliced avocado and bacon sandwich with fries for $10. Â The management of this place, the Hyatt Santa Ana Cafe, should be ashamed of itself.
Review Source:We booked a table for Mother's Day for dinner. When we arrived they told us they were behind in the kitchen and would have to sit at our table and wait 45 minutes before we would be served! So we we left and certainly will never return! This is a four star hotel and resort! This is unacceptable!
Review Source:I stayed at the Hyatt Tamaya from July 1- July 5, 2012 and ate an assortment of meals here. Â The breakfast buffet is nothing short of wonderful. Â The vegetarian dishes, while a bit limited, were nothing short of delicious. Â The veggie burger is highly recommended. Â The service was excellent. Â
I look forward to returning.
