I was pleasantly surprised. Â I was looking for a place close to downtown to have a couple of brews and dinner and stumbled on this place on Yelp. Â I wasn't sure what to expect but was happy I came here instead of some of the other places I was looking at.
It was a Wednesday night and the place was busy but the service was excellent. They had a good beer selection of brews on tap. Â The food was quite tasty for pub fare. Â The pretzel with the sauce they bring was excellent! Â I had the pork sandwich that was juicy and flavorful. Â
It was a bit spendy for what I was expecting in Spokane, but I didn't feel ripped off either. Â I would go back again.
I came on a Sunday night over the Memorial Day weekend so it was definitely a little slow, which was a positive for us because we had really great service. We ordered a hummus plate to share (the olives were slightly overripe) and I got the pulled kahlua pork sandwich as my entree. It was definitely tasty and the homemade potato chips on the side were an awesome bonus. Had no problem finishing everything off my plate! The only con was the appetizer came all at the same time as the food, which the server apologized for. But the food also came really quickly, which is nice. Sunday is all day happy hour so our drinks were under $5. Sunday was definitely quiet but it was a good night to catch up with the girls and chat, just don't expect a big social scene. The food was tasty and the service was just fine, I'd definitely go again.
Review Source:Came because advertised watch Zags play. 5 minutes into the game we had to request they turn television to the game. Service was less than okay. Waited 5 minutes for first beer!
Salads have way too much dressing. Hard to eat because smothered in oil. Flatbread pizza very greasy and not so yummy.
Only redeeming thing is they have the finest soft pretzels around!
I wanted to try the Saranac Public House, so arranged to meet a friend there after work.  I got there a little ahead of time, and sat myself at a table in the bar - there were only two other patrons in the place. There were two bartenders behind the bar, who saw me come but  no one approached for at least 10 minutes with a menu or bar list.
When my friend arrived, we both ordered off of the bar appetizer menu. Â The food was ok, but nothing great that you couldn't find in other pubs/taverns in town. They did have a small but fairly diverse beer menu and the full dinner menu looked interesting.
I will have to give it another try at some point in the future. Hopefully the service will improve, but unless I am in the area, I wouldn't make a special trip here.
Very busy but got seated quickly. It was First Friday.
We had the Polenta Flat bread  as a starter, very nice seared polenta with grilled onions and pine nuts. Thai Flat bread four stars good peanut flavor, Mac and Cheese steaming hot and creamy defiantly will be back for more!
Good pricing too most entrees $10 Drinks $6
I went here for a friend's birthday recently. She made reservations for 17 of us. Having reservations for several weeks I would think the restaurant would prepare for such a group. I thought wrong. The service was sooo slow! Our poor server had our table and had a handful of others! The delivery of food wasn't timed at all. Some of our group had already finished their food before the others even got ours! When my husband and I got our food, we were less than impressed. I ordered a flatbread pizza, it was just ok. My husband ordered a burger with a side of soup. The server brought his course and didn't bring a spoon for his soup. He also asked for no mayo and was annoyed to find a huge glob of it on his bun! We waited for the server to return to let her know. We waited, and waited. It was a good 7 min before we saw her again, at this point my husbands food was cold. He let her know he asked for no mayo. She apologized and agreed to correct it. We were super surprised to see her with his burger in hand 30 seconds later. She had simply just swapped out the top bun. In a prompt experience this would of been fine, but by now with all the waiting my husbands burger was ice cold. My husband rarely looses his cool, but this chapped him! He told the server just to return his entree and he'd go without. The server apologized and took it away. There were several other people at our table that had an awful experience. We asked to speak to the manager. The server disappeared to locate him for another 8 min or so. She returns with a stupid excuse for him not being available. The waitress comped us our entrees and apologized. I felt very sorry for the poor server. She had zero support for our large group and had zero backup when it came to upset customers. Needless to say, unless I'm taken here by gunpoint, I will not return to Sanarac. I believe in second chances, which I gave this place and was blown away by disappointment!
