AMAZING FOOD! My fiance and I have been here on several occasions. I LOVE and HIGHLY recommend the prawns over polenta (I don't remember the exact name of the dish). The fresh baked bread is to-die-for! Pair that with Steele Winery's Sav Blanc 2012 and you will have the most amazing dinner! Oh and they have $5 Tuesdays! Can't beat that deal! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Lake Co. Make reservations!

Visiting from San Francisco, the Saw Shop Gallery Bistro is one of the few (that I saw) upscale dining options in the Clear Lake area, and a great one too!

Cute little bar in the front, great to just have a drink or wait for your table.  A great menu, we had amazing seafood options (it was crab season) and really nice ambiance.

Totally recommend this place, and would come back again!

It's up scale for Lake County, the food is interesting and the service attentive.  The place is small and the acoustics terrible.  Gets noisy fast.  They have just started their fall menu which must mean that everything has to be super spicy which was disappointing to me.  However we have such few choices, that I would definitely go back but not if I want to chat with the people at my table.  The prices are moderate considering that their food costs are up.
The kitchen staff seemed to come out often but I'm not sure why.  The place used to be a chain saw repair shop in this lovely Victorian house which is nicely restored.

Four of us came to Kelseyville for the Dave Stamey concert  and pear Festival, Both a wonderful treat.  The best part of our visit by far was dinner at the Saw Shop.  The best clam chowder we have ever had.  All of our meals, wine and dessert were over the top delicious and served by efficient and fun staff.  Do yourself a favor, go to the Saw Shop and enjoy a great  evening,  Can't wait to go back.

Came here this past friday night with my Husband and Parents.  My Parents have been here before, but it was the first time for us.
The place is very unassuming and small, but has just the right amount of charm.

However the star of this show is the FOOD.  Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC.
You could tell that they use the freshest ingredients possible. I had the wild salmon with mushroom polenta topped with a fresh cherry tomato and arugula salad.  It was to die for.
My husband had the burger, now he is a real burger snob, and he said it was one of the top 2 burgers he has ever had in his life.  It was juicy, fresh toppings, HOMEMADE buns and a bacon onion jam....Heaven.

For dessert we had a buttermilk strawberry shortcake,  It was big enough to split with all four of us.

We also enjoyed two bottles of wine.  Their wine list is not over inflated, which such a rarity to find.

I would HIGHLY recommend this place.

This place is a darn good spot to eat a meal.   Good spot to get a classy meal in a very small town environment.

While visiting Clearlake, we dined here after a good friend suggested it. We wanted one special dinner to celebrate my boyfriend, Jared's birthday and what an amazing dinner it was. Every plate that hit our table was up to par with dining in the bay area. There was a live band that created an easy-going, yet upscale ambiance. The dishes worth mentioning were the pork belly, chicken curry and since we couldn't decide, we had both the creme brulee and lava cake. Both were simply divine! We had a bout 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of champagne and our total was under $100. This is the one restaurant I wouldn't miss if we came back to Clearlake County in the future.

This is the place to go!  It's clean and has excellent food!  I love how they display local art that you can buy.  The only drawback I can think of is it's a little loud, but you can call and request a table in the back.  Enjoy!

I have to give them 5 stars because really - they are the best restaurant in Lake County. And one of the VERY few worth dining at, especially if you are looking for a nice dinner and cocktail or wine selection.

I have always complained that Lake Co is missing some finer dining and some how I missed this joint. Its rather nice outside and in, with a friendly staff. The hostess squeezed us in even though we didn't have a rez, and they were fairly busy. I had the pork chops and my wife the seafood penne, and both were great. The red velvet cake was very good. The portions were on the smaller side, but it's almost to be expected in finer spots. Worth a try.

Pros: Delicious food, and the water girl was on it.

cons: Kinda small in room size and portions.

try the: Seafood Penne...so much crab.

Reviews on Yelp helped us find this place and we loved it.  We're rarely in this part of California, but if we are in the future, this would be where we'd go for dinner.  The menu is creative and everything we had was very good.  Each dish had something a little different about it that made it special.  The restaurant is in an old house that apparently formerly belonged to someone who sharpened saws, an almost lost art with so many cheap disposable blades now available.  The rooms are decorated with art work (the gallery in the name), some of which is for sale.

Sadly, it's now almost 2 months since we were there and I can't remember exactly what we ordered.  I think we each had our own salad or appetizer, then two entrees, one glass of ale, tax and tip = $73.74.

Christine C. Your review doesn't make sense. Well I have been to the Saw Shop many times and have yet to have a bad experience. The food is cooked to perfection and the wait staff is always ready to make the meal right if you have a complaint. I feel this is an attack because I just can't believe this was your real experience. It sounds like you own a competing restaurant in the area and you are just trying to deface a great local restaurant. I mean who orders scallops thinking they are going to get full when scallops are a $30 a pound seafood. I would figure by all the scallop dinners I have had at good restaurants all over the world that there were 4 to 6 scallops on the plate which is all you will ever get for $22. You know what I am going to do, I'm going to drive 50 miles from my house tonight just to go have the scallops and give you yelpers a real review. To be continued.

This is one of two go to restaurants when we are up in the Clear Lake area.  The inside is a modern but quaint and the food is really good. They have quite the assortment and everything that i have ordered has always been really good.  My favorite is their pork chop.
The wait staff has always done well.  We have never had a problem getting a table when we have called in a reservation.

I've always enjoyed the food at the Saw Shop, and that might be because I almost always order the same thing- the red curry. The locale is nice, and the ambiance is good, although the echo-factor can be a bit distracting when it is full of patrons- lots of hard surfaces for reflection of sound. table service is good and the bar is a great place to share some time with a friend.
What prompted me to write this today was that I called at 6:30 this evening to check out the availability of a table later in the evening, and got a recording asking me to leave a request for a reservation. This doesn't work for me, so we decided to patronize Sicily's in the new location here in Lakeport, due to their answering the phone and letting us know we were welcome at a reserved time. When you pay the prices for food like you do at either of these establishments- you expect the full gamut of service.

on my latest trip to the saw shop I tasted two things that I just had to share. First was the drink I had, a lemon drop...yum! The second was the pork belly. There aren't even words to describe how decadent and delicious this beautiful piecce of pork was. It was like a big, tender, flavor-packed hunk of bacon...and what is better than bacon. This one you just have to try for yourself!

Best meal and mojito in Kelseyville. Reasonable and quiet for lunch. Busy and a bit noisy for dinner in the summer. Excellent food, and good friendly service.

Excellent food, well prepared, in a small charming place with interesting artwork. I had the pork belly appetizer followed by "angry mussels". The pork belly was tasty but the fat was not reduced as some are. The Angry Mussels were delicious but not too angry. My spouse had the artichoke appetizer which was classically prepared and delicious. She followed with curried beef and loved it. Wine list is mostly local, not extensive, and not marked up. Waitress was well meaning but did not have a clue...I ordered a bottle of wine and she brought a glass already poured to the table. So I just ordered a second glass later.  The bar scene is crowded and local. Still on my list to return.

Small little restaurant in quaint Kelseyville. Food was excellent and the bartender was very friendly though extremely busy. We went on a Fri night and they didn't have a table, but we ate at the bar. The pork and the ribs were very good. The amaretto crème brulee was also very good.

Definitely need reservations if you want to be seated.

It's a bit pricey for the area but the food was very good.

    Recommended.

Looking for gluten-free dining in Lake County, CA?  Look no further!

They were very good about accommodating me and my son, though a little snippy about the dairy-free stuff.  It's much harder and has far fewer options.  That is the only reason for the four stars instead of five.  The waitress came out with a list of things that had gluten in it.  When I asked for a similar list of things that had dairy in it, the quote that came back from the kitchen was "honey, I don't have time for that".  So, I thought that was a little bit rude, hence the four, and not five stars.

But, the bright side is that being that I am the proverbial canary in a coal mine when it comes to gluten, the dinner was definitely gluten free.

Don't have the amaretto crème brulee though if you are super sensitive.  I had a small reaction.  Which means most normal celiacs wouldn't feel it.  It was probably the vanilla in it.  I know all the "experts" say that all hard alcohol has had the gluten distilled out of it, and I don't want to get into that debate again, but if you are one of those people who, like me, reacts to grain alcohol, don't get it.  I only had one bite and took the rest home just in case.  I woke up the next morning feeling like I was surrounded by fog.  Took me two (small) pots of coffee to feel even remotely awake, then I fell asleep on the drive home.  Which is something that would NEVER happen regularly.  Normally when I wake up I am so awake I keep trying to convince myself to go back to sleep.  And sleeping a few hours after that much coffee?  No way.  So, if you are one of those people who reacts to grain alcohol even though everyone says it's not possible, don't get it.  If you can drink Southern Comfort with impunity, indulge away!

This review is mixed, but for only one reason. The food is first-rate. The wait staff, manager and bartenders are wonderful. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the ingredients, the preparation and the presentation. Yeah, it's more expensive than say, Howard's Grotto, but you get what you pay for. Most diners in Lake County seem to prefer bargains. Do make a reservation since it fills up, especially on weekends.

The only drawback is the owner. I have never before seen a restaurant owner scold a diner for being late, or go to a table and argue with a customer who sent back an improperly cooked order. Ridiculous. If you can avoid this rude, overbearing dingbat you will have a fine meal. I would give another star if it weren't for her.

This is a small restaurant in a small little town.  It seems like its trying to hard, with the way over priced art hanging on the walls; but its cute.  I had the ahi tuna salad, and they serve local wines which I love.  I will say this is the only upscale place for a few miles.....so you might as well go check it out.

The Saw Shop is located downtown Kelseyville, a quaint little town known for its annual pear festival and its vineyards. In the evening, the restaurant welcomes local regulars and tourists. The food is always fresh: a good example of Californian cuisine, with appetizers ranging from salads to pot stickers, and entrees including duck confit, king salmon, lamb or pasta. The wine list features mostly Lake County wines, a good way for visitors to sample the local bottles.
Service is always friendly and competent. On one occasion, the waiter was happy to open a new bottle of sparkling wine to replace a glass that was too flat. On another, the chef came out of the kitchen to make sure the steak ordered rare by a customer was cooked to her liking (it was).
Reservations are recommended (especially on weekends), and patrons should generally arrive no later than 8:30pm. The restaurant often features live music on weekend nights. This is our favorite dining spot in Lake County,

I came to Lake County taking a weekend trip from the Bay Area. This restaurant surpassed my expectations. We were recommended to this place by the Bed & Breakfast owner that we stayed at and were told to make reservations.

Once inside, we saw a nice homey restaurant, with strung lights around the patio, and lots of good energy and people.

The host was gracious and they gave us a choice of where to sit. We chose the back (but would recommend to make a reservation in the outside patio next time). We ordered a nice mushroom ravioli and a fresh salmon dish. The appetizer was a wonderful heirloom tomato salad. The food was delicious and service was excellent. I am coming back again!
