I came here to watch yet again, my favorite band last week. Â SCENE is a tiny-bopper-friendly place. Â Local art was displayed on the walls. Outrageously priced for the quality though. Â This was an under aged show, therefore no drinks were served (bummer). But luckily BW3's was right across the street!
Poor acoustics....(bad)
Pizza place next door (good)
I checked out SCENE Metrospace a few weeks back with a friend to go see a band he knew about. Â Well, I don't think the band ever showed up (we left by that point), but I did get to check out the facility. Â The building that the gallery is in used to be part of Citizens Bank and it's evident - they left the big safe with the turnwheel intact. Â The current exhibit is "They Die In Pictures" and the gallery features contemporary art, including fashion, music, photography, paintings and the like. Â The only thing that bothers me about the space is that it's too stark - too open. Â there were plenty of things to look at on the walls, but there was something missing that would have given it that real gallery feel. Â By no means should it be cluttered, but it needs something else. Â
I'm deejaying here for the East Lansing Art festival/Hip-Hop appreciation weekend, so that should be cool
