  Ultimate dive bar if there ever was one!
  
  The bartender, Trish, was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The pizza was simply delicious. Never got a chance to try the raved-about burgers.

  Goodness! My husband and I stopped by for these "famous" burgers one day and was startled by what we found. Granted we know a bar allows smokers, however, the dust and grime that we saw made us turn around at the door. There was no one there eating, which by the previous reviews was a shocker to us. The lady who we think was a waitress gave us a hello without even looking up from sitting at her table and slid us a menu. Needless to say, none of the tables were clean and we just decided to save the lining of our stomachs and just try another place. Bummer. I was really looking fwd to a new hole in the wall eatery.

  Burger - no frozen stuff here. This rivals angry dog in deep Ellum. Wow.

  My band played here and in a few other North Dallas locations in August and by far, the people of Schmitty's were the friendliest and most receptive of them all. We had good experiences at the other places so I don't want to take anything away from those folks but the patrons in Schmitty's were great.
  
  One of the things I like most about it is that it is unpretentious and welcomes anybody. So what if it's a dive bar. You can be yourself there.
  
  Although I did not have the food, the people who were with us did eat and everyone had a positive response.
  
  Tends to be a bit smokey. I would give 4 1/2 stars if there was a half-star to give.
  
  Parking was problematic due to construction on Eldorado Pkwy but that's not Schmitty's fault.
  
  When we're back in Dallas, we will most definitely play there again. The boys in the band are looking forward to it.
