I don't feel guilty about giving this place 1 star; if I could give it negative stars I would. I don't feel guilty because the types of people who frequent this place don't go onto yelp for advice. I am not worried that my one star is going to ruin the livelihood of the wait staff or owners. Instead, I mean the one star to be a warning to anyone reading this to stay away from Scorekeepers. Â This place is dirty, disgusting, stinky, and filled with men who have Santa Claus beards. I am not sure if I can ever be the same after being inside. I am from Lakewood, which is by no means the pinnacle of class, and the crap was legitimately scared out of me.
Any place where you feel comfortable being frumpy but serves food is not okay. Food that lazy isn't worth the calories or potential trip to the hospital. Why choose Scorekeepers to meet friends when there are so many other options out there?
If you've grown up in or around Parma, you'll probably love this bar. Â Good priced drinks, neighborhood peeps, sometimes dancing, sometimes a band, sometimes a fight (or boxing match, whatever it's called). Â But as a friend from Lakewood reminded me, if you are not from Parma, it may scare the crap out of you.
If you don't mind the occasional girl wearing a t-shirt for a dress or hambone downing a shot at the bar then this place is fine for you.
It's one of those places you go to meet a few friends when you don't feel like changing out of your sweatshirt. Â Don't get me wrong, there are are some misinformed people that think this bar requires hooch attire, but if you are a well rounded individual that enjoys people watching you'll be fine.
I had a hankering for several beers last night and since it was snowing, it seemed like a great time to familiarize myself with winter driving techniques - in my brother's brand new Honda at that.
So I pull into this bar and order a tall Black &Tan and ask the bartender for any suggestions when it comes to drinking & driving in a snow storm. He said "just steer into the slide", whatever that meant.
I had a better idea on getting home, but led him to believe that this tourist with a low tolerance for mass quantities of shots & beers was gonna hit the roads. I took a cab, but no sense letting him or the other patrons relax.
Reasonably priced drinks, friendly patrons & staff, and awesomely meaty buffalo wings.
Add this bar & grill to your list of places to stop in for a drink & conversation - you won't regret it.*
