I went here during the summer, so this review may not be accurate for the school year. We got her at 10:30 PM on a Saturday and had burgers and a couple of beers. The draft and tap beer selection was huge with good variety and a well-organized beer menu. The food was great. Burgers were prepared exactly as ordered, medium and medium-rare. This is the first time we have received a medium-rare burger that really was medium-rare anywhere in the NRV. The fries were good too. Service was excellent despite the restaurant being busy.

The only bad thing I can say is that the restaurant is LOUD. But our experience was good in spite of that.

Use to go there when I was a student at RU.  Simply said...I would go there if I were to visit again.

This place is weird.  Probably because I grew up in Radford and it seems so "un Radford" to me and when I return, I'm longing for a nostalgia factor and patronize things that were there when I was there.  I guess it's a good thing that the college populace has somewhere to go because I really couldn't imagine attending college in Radford, VA so in that regard, yay.  And in all honesty, I do have to say that Radford fails miserably as being a true "college town" so perhaps the arrival of a place like this should be welcomed by a geezer like me - for the sake of the kids.

I've been twice - once was after a football game at my 10 year high school reunion (I have no idea why we came here since it wasn't even here when we were in high school) and it was so loud and crowded.  And annoying.  Blah.  I did get a huge kick out of the sorority sisters dressed to the 9s for their big night out at Sharkey's.  It's the little things in life, I guess.  You never know what douchebag frat boy (there were a LOT of them!) you'll meet right?  The wait to get to the bar and order a damn beer was ridiculous.

The second time was when I was in town last week and had dinner with a friend.  The food was good.  I had the veggie sub.  It was very big and I was only able to eat half of it.  I would've finished it but it sat on the seat of my car as I drove 12 hours back to Chicago in 90+ degree heat so eating it likely would've made me quite ill.

I also had a beer that was rather tasty.  I don't remember what it was called, peachicot or something to that effect?

The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because one of my brother's good childhood friends works there and was our waiter and I adore him.

The only downside to this place is that it can get loud.

Good food, great drinks. We got two Irish Car Bombs, four Jager Bombs, and six rails with double shots for less than 80 bucks. The best in Radford.

Also have multiple pool tables, spread out, so you don't feel like you're hitting other people every time it's your turn. A variety of seating, so you can have a bar style seating next to the pool tables without having to fight the bar crowd.

LOUD!!!  Student hang-out.  Food is fine but I can't take the noise.  Don't go at night unless it is during the summer when the students are gone.

Ahhh, when I lived in Radford this was my spot. All the bartenders were great and their happy hour specials were right on point. Their menu is amazing for a bar (like 8 or more pages) and everything on there was good. They also have a wing and pizza buffet on Wednesday and Sunday nights during happy hour. By far the best place in Radford to go for a drink.

I've been here a few times but it's usually just to grab a drink with old friends.  The other day I had the chance to try their wings and quesadilla.

The wings were a tad bit on the small side but were fried up crispy just like I like them.  The quesadilla was packed full of chicken, cheese, and veggies!

The place was packed and the service was pretty good.  All in all we had a great experience!

If you enjoy the nightlife, this is your place. It's always busy and has a great food and drink selection.  Expect a wait to eat while school is in season.  Out of season it's fairly empty so that's when I like to go.  The food is good and the atmosphere is laid back.

If you don't mind a bunch of college-aged meatheads stumbling around you hitting on girls then it's a great place to spend an evening.

Ahhh man! Haven't yelped in a while and I'd hate to get rusty, plus I can't believe I haven't reviewed Sharkey's yet!

OK so I didn't just give it 5 stars because my boyfriend is a cook here! (But since he is, I've been here like hundreds of times... gotta love the 50% discount we get...) Anyways! Tangent! BECAUSE I've been here so many times, I'd be a good person to listen to when I say I've NEVER (And I mean NEVER) had a bad meal here! The ribs are fantastic (I get the honey BBQ), and I love their boneless wings! (Again... honey BBQ, sometimes the Garlic BBQ or just plain old BBQ... I don't like spicy stuff.).

I also highly recommend the Tuna Steak Salad! No, it's not Tuna Salad like from the can... it's an actual Tuna Steak they put on a salad and you can get it cooked to your preference (I get it Medium Rare...) And it's really good with their honey mustard dressing (which they make and it's fabulous) or the Mango Pineapple. Good stuff!

Their burger's are fantastic! The Crabby Patty is my favorite!

When it comes to Paninis, I love the Turkey and Bacon or Philly Cheesesteak.

And they actually make like all of their stuff!! Including the Crab dip and Spinach and Artichoke dip, both some of my favorite things here!

They also have a breakfast buffet on the weekends and a wing buffet I think 2 nights out of the week that are both great deals.

AND Their Happy hour is out of CONTROL!!!! They have so many beer and other drink specials you've just gotta check it out!

I could go on and on... but I'll end with saying they also have a fantastic beer selection!!! Who else around here would carry Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar??? If you've never tried the Corsendonk Pater/ Abbey Brown Ale, they have it here in a very large bottle and you must try it. Like beer? Like Raspberries?? They have Abita Purple Haze on tap!!!!

So it's good food, good prices, even better specials... you should go. OK... I'm done now. haha

Good food, great service. Great atmosphere. Non happy hour drinks get expensive.

3.5 Sharkey's, you're allllright! If I were still in college, I'd give you a 4. It was jam packed when we came into this restaurant/sports bar so we expected it be a little slow. They did their best to keep a smile on their faces at all times and serve us as best as they could. The food was alright - don't expect much out of their taco salad but make sure to have the cajun crab dip for apps. I was in on a Friday but it looked like they have some sweet deals for food and happy hour other days of the week. I wish a place like this existed when I was in college (Fail, Fairfax, F-A-I-L.)

Has an amazing draft selection, somewhere around 36 types, most of which are micros and imports, but still some macros as well.  Prices are very reasonable.  On Sunday's you can get a pitcher for $5!  Wings are decent enough and they have around 15 different flavors.  Space is wide open and clean.  Cool little place to hang out if you're in town.

I want to preface everything by saying, this is a small college town, where choices are limited. I'm assigning 5 starts to this joint because, it is literally, as good as it gets in Radford. They did for Radford dining, what the iphone did to cell phones. Revolution. With that said, even in a larger city this place would score very well.

I am a regular here. During football season, this is the place to be. Redskins fans, they show every sad sad moment of your games on the big screen. They're even considerate enough to accommodate a transplant like myself by seating me by the Giants games. Baseball, basketball, all on tap here as well as, from what I've been told, World Cup Soccer.

Food variety is great. I personally love their boneless wings and fries, but the burgers are great as well. I've heard the salads are huge, but never had one myself.

The selection of mirco's, for this town, is overwhelming almost. Make sure you ask for the drink menu, it's larger than the food menu. They have great specials like their taps and caps on Tuesdays, some low price for drafts and bottles which make me want to drink on a Tuesday.

The staff is very friendly, just beware of Thursday night when college is in session, it gets very crowded.
