Let's start with the positive - cheap beer! Â $2.85 for a 25oz. draft is literally unheard of. Â The draft list has the usual suspects for a small, Midwestern town - bud light, miller lite, coors lite and blue moon. Â If you're lucky, there might be something that doesn't taste like water on draft, but there won't be any craft beers. Â Sorry beer snobs!
I suggest you only come here to drink and eat the free peanuts as even a contestant on "Worst Cooks in America" could whip up better food than they are currently serving here. Â I ordered a smothered chicken sandwich which seriously tasted like rubber. Â It had a waxy consistency to it and even the lukewarm (probably from a can) mushroom sauce they put on top couldn't hide the fact that this poor chicken was probably cooked one day prior and heated up in the microwave just for me.
My husband and brother-in-law also tasted said chicken and agreed that it was disgusting - and they eat anything. Â I ended up eating some of my husband's chopped steak, which resembled elementary cafeteria food. Â
Next time I'm visiting the parents, I'll be sure to choose my mom's home-cookin' over this garbage.
The waffle fries were great, crispy & hot. My beef and cheese sub with onions, not so good. The meat was tender and moist but, how do you sautéed onions and they have no flavor? The end of my sub bun was rock hard. The server was really awesome, I felt that he really, truly cared. He made a comment that concerned me though. He said that he wasn't going to say anything to the kitchen because it wouldn't help. That's not good.
