The Shoalwater Restaurant

Went here for my birthday dinner with 4 other ladies.  Dining room was empty but we were told out table was not ready.  Went to the bar.  It had 4 tables full.  We sat at the bar and waited 10 minutes to order drinks.  Watched the bartender look up the recipe for a white russian.  Then he told us we picked a hard bottle of wine to find.  The sweet couple behind us were empty too.  We waited another 10 minutes and then left.  Too bad too becuase I have heard rave reviews.

I can't get enough of this place.  I wish I lived closer so I could eat here for breakfast/lunch/dinner PLUS drinks! I guess I could technically live here since it's attached to a B&B.  My favorite are the fresh oysters on a half shell and you know it's FRESH because it has no smell to it like some oysters you eat "fresh".  Plus one time I was here they were actually honest (!!!) and admitted they wouldn't serve me raw oysters because it wasn't as fresh as they would want it but offered to pan fry it...which was also very delicious.  I also love their service, the guys at the pub are great, the bartendar knows how to make a mean apple sour martini...definately worth paying $8 bucks for!  The best place to eat at Long Beach hands down.
