  Shockwave is a sports type bar on Fort Irwin.  It's right near DFAC 2 and the 11th ACR barracks so it's basically an after work hangout for the young Soldiers on base.  The army has obviously put a good amount of money into the facility, it's clean, new, and sterile in the new normal army way (AKA no O clubs allowed).  This place would've been called an NCO club or Enlisted club 20 years ago.  
  
  I went there for the UFC 146 event.  The place was pretty packed, no seats available so we stood awkwardly and watched the Dos Santos-Mir fight.  Beers were expensive (almost $5 for 16 ounce Stellas) but the food was pretty good and reasonably priced.  I had a calzone for $6 which was pretty darn good and came out of the oven hot and fast.  
  
  Service was pretty fast but seemed distant other than the nice lady in the kitchen who fixed our order which the bartender messed up.  There were some MMA celebrities attending the event to sign autographs and meet the troops, I think I saw some of them but they weren't mingling with the Soldiers.  They were just kind of watching the fights on TV and staying to themselves.  
  
  This is the kind of place which would be great to host a promotion party or unit event as long as you provided your own alcohol.
