So glad it is open again. Â Beautifully restored 1890's bar. Â We stopped in for a quick drink. Quiet on a Saturday afternoon so we chatted with bartender. Â Friendly, great atmosphere. Â Local draft beer, a soda, and a little souvenir cost $6.00. Â He said they have live music often too. Â Great place. Everyone who visits Calumet should pay a visit.
Review Source:If you find yourself in the You. Pee. of Michigan, head to Shute's, find a water pipe that runs the along the walls from floor to ceiling and cozy up against that pole like a stripper working hard for some money -because congratulations you have found the warmest spot in all of Northern MICHIGAN!
Shute's is a nice quite tavern, with all of the old charm from the 1920's. If you are looking for historic this is the one place you need to visit.
If, for no other reason, you need to visit Shute's for it's historical value. Â The Tiffany style stained glass canopy over the bar is awesome, and I believe it dates back to the 1890's. Â Food menu is very limited but sitting at the bar, enjoying a beer, and visiting with the locals is timeless!
