Sidetracked Pub & Grub

Fun fact:  This place is a dump.  Wait, don't stop reading, notice I gave it 4 stars.  You see, it's the kind of dump where you might like to go hang out.

Built from an old Wendy's, this place makes you wonder if the Wendy's would have done better to allow drinking, smoking and karaoke.  Who knows, right?  The food isn't great, but it's not bad either.  The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pretty good.  There are two TV's - one is usually on sports and the other on trivia.

The place's obvious main attraction is the karaoke.  The sound is very good.  The singers aren't that bad, and the crowd is pretty involved.  It seems on a normal night there's about a dozen people in the rotation and on a busy night about two dozen.  As far as karaoke goes I don't think you could ask for much more.

My personal recommendation is to catch the live music on Friday nights.  I've been three times, and enjoyed all three shows.  The performers were lively and talented, and the place is small enough to be very intimate.

What I really do not like about this place is the smoke.  There is a Smoke Eater and when there aren't many people it's not so bad.  But once the place starts to fill it's choking.  As a non-smoker, it's bad enough that I probably won't return for anything other than the occasional Friday night live music.  But if you are a smoker or smoke tolerant, this is really the kind of dump where you should be hanging out.

CHEERS ain't got nothing on this little place!  Once you go in a few times you become part of the ST's family!!  Monday thru Fridays they have homemade fresh Mexican food, breakfast and burgers...after hours they have a nicely priced menu of munchies.  They are the ONLY 7 DAYS A WEEK KARAOKE BAR in this area, they have talented DJs, good little stage and sound system with a HUGE variety of songs to choose from!  Drinks are priced ok, but specials would make 'em better!  The owner & waitstaff are SUPER NICE and will keep you laughing!  And theme parties once a month.  If Sidey's was decked out in Dallas Cowboys colors & paraphernalia it would be PERFECT! Since it's only a couple miles away from the Stadium.  Go check it out and sing some 80's roooock!!!
