Many a day of my undergrad years was spent here playing trivia at the bar or sitting out in the beer garden playing bags or sitting on the porch playing drinking games. This bar is dirty, the place gets cramped as all hell during the winter, and sometimes it can be a headache getting drinks, which is why making friends with a bartender is always a great idea. But you know, even those places that you know aren't amazing kinda grow on you, and after 4 years of hanging at this watering hole, it's always nice to pay a visit when I go back.
Of note, this place is great in the summer, not too packed, outdoor and indoor bar, and plenty of picnic tables and seating, plus you can run out and grab food from just about anywhere.
Since C'dale is one of those magical places where the bar entry age is 19, underagers take note : When they play the theme song for 'Cops', it's because the undercover / uniformed cops are walking through checking stamps. Pass the beer for a minute, you can catch up later. I really hope they still do this.
This is a good secondary bar to hit along your bar crawl. In the winter, I would avoid it because of the lack of room inside. You are literally jam packed inside, but during the warm months it's enjoyable because the beer garden is open. They have had some really good bands play there on the weekends, but they are inconsistent with them. It's sometimes a pain to get a drink there, too. Overall it's an OK place to chill if the beer garden is open.
