This place has gotten a lot better since I was in school. Â The upstairs and balcony really add to the name. Â Instead of an open roof you can actually go to the roof. Â Luckily they put bathrooms up there and a huge bar. Â If you are in Auburn and want the most busy bar with the most going on then this is the place.
Review Source:I finally made it here!!! Usually, this is the final stop for the night for me and my friends but being Asian, I never make it to the final destination. So I finally came here after the renovations and they have definitely improved! There's a lot of different platforms which may seem weird at first but it works out perfectly. They're making a giant country bar feel more intimate by separating it out in different areas.
Their bathrooms have improved, service has improved, and it feels like a fun relaxing brighter country bar to hang out in rather than what I barely can remember from my previous visits.
Now, I'm not from anywhere near the South, so I'm not sure if this is a "normal" bar.....we certainly don't have anything like this in the Bay Area, or in Haifa.
First of all the place is HUGE. Â It's easily over 10,000 square feet, and they pack it. The $5.00 cover isn't really a deterrent, as people just keep flooding in as the night goes on. Drinks aren't too expensive, and there are plenty of bartenders. Â
The front portion of this place was manned by a live country music band. Â They cover all the most popular country music songs, and the crowd really gets into it. Â I'm sure it's pretty played out around these parts, but we were pretty excited to hear a rendition of Sweet Home Alabama while actually in Alabama. Â
We were wondering why people kept coming in and out of a door toward the far end of the bar. Â Was this the bathroom area? Nope. Â How about a massive dance floor with a full-on rap concert by a band that I swear could rival the black eyed peas. Â They went on for hours, and the place was going crazy. Â
The energy level was probably elevated by the fact that Auburn had a home game the next day. Â Nonetheless, thanks for a great experience.
If you enjoy wearing high heels, getting plastered, and falling into every person you meet then this is the place for you! Â And yet this is one of the most "happening" bars in Auburn. Â On the other hand if you are looking for some place slightly more classy....then this isn't the place for you.
Review Source:OK not sure how to rate this place, since I've known the space since it was Darnell's way back in the day and it's gone through a bunch of other iterations. Â It's nice that it's open air, but it's really not set up that well but I suspect during the year when students are in that it gets packed and full of drunken revelers.
Over the Thanksgiving break I ended up here twice and met some fun people here so I can't really complain about it too much. Â Drinks are reasonable and the girl trying to get people to do karaoke was very compelling. Â
If you wanna be able to smoke then this bar is for you. Â It was also nice to meet Lauren and Tracey here as well as the other girls that my buddy Vlad connected with...
