Slappy's & Pappy's

This little stand is just outside of the Fort Polk JRTC.  This little family owned stand is a favorite amongst those familiar with the area.  This is a simple and friendly place to grab a decent bite.  The 3 covered picnic tables are large, yet this place is more for those to grab something to go.  The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable given the location.

The menu is simple: Hamburger or Cheeseburger (even 1 lb patties are available); Fries; Fried or grilled chicken or shrimp; Poboys (chicken, shrimp, fish, or brisket); BBQ sandwich, BLT; Chili cheese fries; 10 piece nugget; Onion Rings; Cajun Fries; Loaded fried; Steak or Chicken Fingers with fries, gravy and roll; Fish or shrimp with coleslaw, fries, hush puppies and desserts.  

The desserts are Fried Pickles / Moon Pie Twinkie / Oreo's / Funnel Fries (?).........  I guess there's no need to wait for the annual California State Fair here...........
