Sonic Drive In

I usually try to stop at this Sonic on my way to Houston. The staff are very friendly and really quick. I am usually in and out in 5 minutes or less!!
And they have fried pickles!!

Sonic was not our first choice for an early lunch on the road, but in downtown Caldwell, you have limited choices.   McDonalds had so many people in it (standing room only with church buses in the parking lot) that it was impossible to get inside the lobby, Dairy Queen was so dead it was scary, so we picked up a early lunch snack here to eat while driving.  

I have three complaints, somewhat minor.   One, they claim to have a $1 value menu, but nothing is listed on their menus so you have to ask (same as the fact that the prices for french fries are not even listed).    Second, they try to charge you .35 for a cup of water.   When I questioned that, they said that "child sized waters are free".  So I ordered (5) of those...   Duh.    Lastly (not complaining about the baggy pants guy that served us, see photos) they place a $1 value meal sticker over the top of your receipt so you can't tell where it came from.    Like I said minor complaints.  

Service was fairly quick and was friendly.   Burgers were hot and digested well, and got us the hell out of Caldwell way faster than what could have been done at McDonalds at the time.
